also, some people cant do TKchun or even just jump chun well enough (a wee bit slow and opponen will tech after 2C) so an EVEN EASIER combo would be 5B>5C>itsuuC>dash>j.B>JC>j.B>j.C>.... [hatsu>chun](land near opponent with staff off screen behind) or [D](staff MAY hit opponent, possible tech trap chance if D is held, and you end up close to opponent with staff.) not great damage, and using hatsu>chun may be risky if you cant fight well without staff. another easy combo you can do until you master TKchun would be whatever>itsuuC(closer range)>6C>[5C] or [2B>2C on small characters]>j.B>j.C>D>airdash(staff should hit around this time)>[j.B>j.C] or [j.C] depending on range>[6C](if not too close to corner)>tsubame>6C>[3C] or [421D HOLD] for tech trap.

pretty nice hakumen. but a longer sword would have been great ^o^ but still a great effort. jubei for a couple photo plz.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BvLaLmpSOY a fair amount of staffless combos. but dont be done being surprised there, theres even more! and more being created as we speak!

yes a gimmick, yet although this is done a lot in corners mostly. FOR EXAMPLE!! cornercombo...>tsubame>j.C>421D>falling j.C>6C>3C>421D>Hold D. yes, a common tech trap but sometimes starting the Dhold later helps get into more gimmicks. also recently what i tried to do as another little trick is after a combo thats ends midscreen with staff placed hold D and IAD opponent as they tech and release when appropriate. not the best crossup game, and followups arent really damaging, but throwing this out instead of a shinshin occasionally catches people off guard. but besides throwing this kind of tactic out to surprise an opponent to maybe get the momentum back, regular staffless combos are superior, because we can squeeze as many normal hits in before we need the staff to bounce them back up for us. (you cant hold D forever as brent said, and pressing D mid combo is critical because it stops litchi in midair > airdash>j.B>j.C etc)

certain moves have manten return state, you can refer to the first page and read through the movelist to see which ones do. basically put, some moves put the staff "off litchis hands", and in SOME cases, you can treat it as if its placed. for example, after 6A[m], you can press 2D to shoot the staff. another example is after 3C[m], which is used more often in her midscreen BnB. (3C>D>IAD>6C>etc) this also means you can do staffless specials after moves with these manten return states. an easy one would be after 6A[m]. 6A[m]>haku>hatsu>chun. when recalling the staff during moves with manten return states you can call it back via shinshin also, for example 41236D(stance)>(delay)41236D(shinshin) be aware, with moves with manten return states you CANNOT do kokushi musou, the staff must be placed to do this distortion drive. have fun in training mode discovering the greatness of litchi

well if its air to air and you dont think you can land and then get a tsubame or itsuuA fast enough, u can followup up an air to air j.B like.. (air)j.B>j.C>JC>j.B>j.C pretty easy to be able to hitconfirm into this even while in the heat of an airtoair, and its quite satisfying as its like a decently damaging combo for 4 hits and randomly happening in the air :D also, maybe you can hit D afterwards? and shinshin when you land for cover. i never thought of that but i think thats a good thing to try to keep the pressure going.

if tager has 50% heat or more i always keep my distance and barrier block ALWAYS! although, i guess you can play this way reguardless of how much heat he has. but that 720 is no joke, and ive grown to always take glances at his charge and heat. battle of patience with tager, many tagers are much to eager to throw out that shot. and as for 720, just watch out for his gimmicks. more common ones i have been seeing recently is ....during combo>6A>2C>atomic collider(shortest time)>720, and 2D(block or whiff)>720. of course theres plenty more, but not too many use them as least online. go spy in the tager gimmick thread! i think its generally a good idea if you are 40% and he lands a hit on you, burst that sheeeet. you dont want to risk getting tricked into a 720 gimmick. zone well and we will take down the soviets.

if it looks like 2 kicks > crouching upwards punch > repeat thats just a character specific for litchi VS tager and rachel. you should be able to tech out eventually. in the corner, litchi is real good at tech traps, so as kensk said neutral tech to avoid the staff on coming. and either block or 360A or maybe even 720. if litchi pulls the kokushimusou on you while ur down in the corner (auto stickman combo super) with right timing you caan 720 on wakeup, and the stick will just be flailing at nothing. and litchi will be flailing in your arms as you show her real sov...i mean. do some good damage.

use move with 101%+ proration? idk. but you may be right. then again, moves like kokushi musou or something like carl's niravana balrog style super deal low damage, so it kinda feels like its MEANT to be used along with the character also throwing in their combo. i'll/we'll have to test that though.

wow thats really awesome haha. i have my anti airs ready.

this matchup was actually more difficult than i thought ;_; just played a good litchi online. oh, it was lag free. (FINALLY! WE NEED MORE! i refer to both litchis and non laggers.) i realize just how nasty tsubame is. i wont take you for granted my wittle staff no i wont!

yea i suppose, was just something that bothered me a bit.

when pressuring with daisharin against opponent in corner, when the staff has reached them is it better to make staff go in the 2 direction? i usually do 3 just because...idk. sometimes some 6s. but my friend claims with daisharin going in 22222 (well, i guess [3/6]xn (until staff on opponent), 222...) keeps the opponent lower once u successfully mixup and start throwing in attacks, making it easier to follow up. i havent had the chance to test this yet since my bb is in my car@____@ which i dont have access too atm.

if u hit 44, litchi does the little backwards hop. if u add the 7, she does the air backflip afterwards. very useful. and you can airdash out of it! a tager blockstring that includes sledge is pretty unsafe. when i play AS tager, i usually have do a string tht goes something like -blahblah-...6A(vacuum glowing hand), sledgeA. then back to 5A. after sledge, you can probably 2/5A it, but every once in a while if a tager player would read that he would do the followup to sledge. so just watch out.

definately not mashy at all. like blade said u can get lucky if you spam guard, but a skilled player who knows their char can punish that ezpz which can lead to a demoralizing counter @__@

i second the asking of this favor. i played this game for a while, (jp version yay) and this game is real deep more than just choosing what character specific skills you want, but also actions such as guard(you want this, but i guess if u want a challenge you COULD....take this off), dash towards / away fromopponent, free airdash, air whatever AAAAAAH!!! its just fun to fight people with certain action skills that make them totally unique. i liek to zidane with dashes set to dash directly away from opponent, as a lot of his attacks have range. just for those who are still thinking about it (who is? you better not be! you are getting this game hands down!), this game is totally worth it. PS : i hope they didnt make EXdeath smarter in vs cpu mode...he was ez to lvl off of :D

i can follow you on the ceiling with a D bug on a string.
-
i dont want to watch them all to see litchi if u know what i mean ;_; which one is it?
-
i can imagine hakumen fighting a cloud or ichigo. they are no match for the just sword.
-
lol yaaah. i would love to see a hakumen stomping everywhere. like people sitting down or people taking a snooze at multiday conventions. and someone ought to remember his creed. I AM THE...see i dont even remember. I AM HAKUMEN! THE END HAS COME! -stomps-

except getting the fabulous armor might be difficult. and a long piece of plastic. unless you really wanna hurl a wooden stick that long. can u say tiring X accidents? i can. ... DO IT

today i pulled off 13orphans>airgrab(opp now in corner)greatwheel(3,6,6,6,...how many is it?) it actually worked @__@ even though it was techable after one of the 9's, it still made me feel good lol. and when 13orphans or greatwheel lands, i just j.C spam or chun spam, to try to keep them low as possible to followup the end with 6C, tsubame, if corner [j.C, kote, D(hold)] otherwise [6C, 3C, kote, D(hold)] for techtrap
