I will make it to this NCI on the 6th of November, and be back the 2nd week of December, so I should only miss one NCI. and yeah Qwerty has got my back. Also Tenkai and Kijiyama have been helping me out with the brackets when needed, so I imagine they can back qwerty up also.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?authkey=CImuj-8I&hl=en&pli=1&formkey=dGJBSWNEdG9OUW5rSGtfSzRqZ0Q3TGc6MQ#gid=0 equipment registration form up.... only those bringing shit to the ranbat need fill it out.

Glad to hear the date is the 6th, as I will be out of the country the rest of the month! I will make the equipment registration list later tonight. For this NCI lets do 1 casuals room and 1 tourny room. Also I think we should start all 3 tournies at once. Yes I said all of them at once. the reason being.... to increase cross game exposure. Players will not show up 2 hours early to watch gg or mbaa, or enter it for fun if they are planing to play in one of the later tournies. Overrule me on this if you must, but I think it would help give all the games the exposure they want, and I don't think it will rape our organization any more then it already does. (because as scott said last time, this is basically what happened last time anyway) An other possibility to improve organization is to remove all casuals untill all of the tournies hit top 8. Just throwing ideas out here.

can't make it this weekend, or next week end QQ maybe the one after that?

http://shoryuken.com/blogs/cicada/video-lag-test-dell-alienware-optx-aw2210-21-5-gaming-monitor-675/ if you have the cash, I think that is the best monitor on the market in terms of minimal input lag. It isn't the cheapest choice, but it is pretty badass based on all the reviews I've seen online. just sayin'

QUOTE FOR TRUTH! yeah, if you bother to come out, you should enter. It might sound silly, but 2 matches of tournament play, are equal 200 matches of casual play in terms of improving your game. There is something about playing for real, playing for keeps that will make you see way more about whats going on in the match. You will enjoy it, and will learn a lot. Sure you might get smashed your first few tournies, but you'll make good friends and gain respect. For the most part in fighting game communities, people will give you props if you go out and play your hardest, and try and improve. The best way to stay crappy at a fighting game, and have the community ignore you is to sit on the side lines. Step up to the plate (or stick in this case), win or lose you'll get better, and you'll have a good time doing it.

bro, lets not forget that the SJSU CS club is basically doing this out of the goodness of there hearts. They have absolutely no obligation to help us at all. and paying 80 bucks to rent a venue like that for 12+ hours is a fucking steal. no really, that is like the deal of the century. If they want us to be a little less loud, and or have some restrictions on what days we can do our gathering, we should buck up and take the hint, not give them shit about studying in a library. no doubt we are guest there and should treat the venue almost like it was a friends house. On pricing, if we want to meet goals for hosting a bigger event once a year, we will need to up the amount the NCI fund gets form each ranbat. I think we should go $5 dollar venue and $5 dollar entry, but if people are worried about that, we should go $5 venue and $3 dollar entry. I feel like we should try and bring the hype with bigger pots to attract more talent. BB would be up at around 100 dollars with $5 pot, which might attract some of the central and sol cal kids up on occasion which would be hype as fuck. I propose we go with $5 venue fee 2 for CS club 3 for NCI and do 3 or 5 dollar tourney entry. Also chun, if the CS club wants to do the 13th, that is fine.
-
I think we should try and keep as regular a schedule as possible, but that venue is worth being a little flexible. You till us when your golden. Pick a date. People will show up if they can make it. We can't bend over backwards trying to find a day for every one. So just find a good day. Its a monthly ranbat to determine rank for larger tournies, and to help improve the skill level of the scene. Some times it won't get recorded, some times it won't get streamed. Some times the turn out will be low. That's Okay. Also I still think we need to up dat venue/entry fee. $5 for the win.

I personally vote, that we mix in more gg into the steam before the top 4, if possible. There were some good matches in pool play. There must be a way to switch between hd and sd setups easily.

Scott, I had a crazy idea for running the brackets, I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but what if we ran BB and GG with the same set of people. Because there is so much cross tourny entrance, it might make sense for every thing to be run together to a certain extent. Also that way we could have a centralized place for people to come report results. If we get the CS club venue again, An other idea I had was splitting the rooms not by tournament, but by casual and tournament play. IE the CS club room is all tourny play and the neighboring class room is all casuals or vice versa. That way people who are waiting for matches will be in the casuals room, and thus will be in one place. Basically it makes people easier to find, and then we send them over to the tournament play room when the are up, and them come back when they are done and report results. I think this way would make a lot of sense, and would help out with organization. Once again I don't know if it is a good idea, but maybe we could try it for November RanBat? What do you all think?

BB community, Danny is just trolling you, because he can be a dick some times. Try not to raise to it so much. Danny is actually a nice guy, he is a just a troll. Don't take it personally. To give BB players an idea of how the average dedicated GG player feels, imagine Arc Sys put out a game, like BB, but then removed 2 buttons and gatling combos, and added an ultra gauge. to a guilty player that is about what blazblue looks like. They took guilty gear, and took out a bunch of features that make the game deeper and more fun and added some cool graphics to draw people in. When you know and love a game, it makes you more than a little salty seeing so much talent, effort, and hype being poured it a game that is from your point of view, similar, but significantly dumbed down. I agree it is a little unfair to you guys who know and love blazblue, which is probably a good game, but it is hard to accepts for many GG players because it really doesn't seem as good as guilty. Danny, don't be such a dick unnecessarily, your not helping. Shit talk is part of this, but your bringing things to a much more personal level then is needed.

good games to every one that went! Thanks to Chun for hype venue, and looking after all the venue details. Collecting venue fees and staying on top off shit. This is the kind of effort that will make this scene continue to grow. I thought you were a little high strung and overly stressed about stuff, but then again you got shit done, so what do I know. I think every one who came to NCI for october should give a big shout out to Chun for his effort! Thanks to scott and aginor for doing a good job running bb. Thanks to david for running the mbaa, I hype you guys have a better turn out next time. Thanks to coopa and rin and Iplaywinner for bringing that streaming hype. Big thanks to Tsubasa and Magz for technical help with stream, patch cables etc! Shout outs to Night Angle and Gomi-ino, new faces in the guilty gear scene are always hype! I had a lot of fun playing casuals with you Gomi-Ino. Keep at it! come back next month and show us those skills! Thanks to the Melty Crew for being so patience with the rest of us. You guys are hype, and your game is so underrated! Tone, show me that robo ky next month! Big thanks to every one that brought a set up or a tv, these events need you, so big thanks! Overall this is a good start to the season, I was really impressed with the level of play for guilty, we are all still bad, but I saw some improvements from nearly every one since the big NCI up in Berkley. I look forward to next month! In the mean time, constructive criticism is welcome, how can we run this better and bring the hype? Any complaints, problems or suggestions are welcome. PS: Shout outs to scrubs who come late, don't enter any tournaments and loudly talk shit the entire time. What the fuck is that about? PPS: I'm tired as fuck, so I will post the GGAC results tomorrow morning.

GGAC reg ends at 2pm. So any one who wants to register for that tourny will have to be on site by 2pm. I'd expect ggac stream to start shortly after that. leaving now. See you all soon

I advise folks to try not to get all butt hurt, every buddy is doing what they can to bring their A game and build the community. a little give and take, understanding and care is always needed. I'm sure every one here (except Scott) is just trying to help out, and did not mean any harm by what they said. Lets play games, get hype, and have fun tomorrow.

Magz shows up, he just shows up late... lol get hype for this staturday!
