Okay, so we need to set up 2 things, monthly ranbats, and next years NorCal Install.... Monthly ranbats will have a turn out of about 50 people, maybe 60 I would guess (this is ranbat for bb, gg, and mb). I am currently looking for a venue to host a monthly event for 50-60 people. Planing on Monthly ranbats starting in october at the earliest, November more realistically. NCI will have turn out of about 100-120 I would guess. I suggest we plan NCI for about a year from now, and certainly no earlier than 6 months. I think if we try and have a big tourny like this more frequently than 6 months our turn out will drop.

also for the record, the bb results were edited into my post by a certain dustloop mod, I'm pretty sure if I changed "flacid" to "dacid".... Scott would just change it back anyway lol

My rant on playing in tournaments: Playing at local tournies isn't about winning, it is about being part of the scene, seeing friends and making new ones. You could argue that you could do all this with out the price of admission and the competitive atmosphere, but the feeling of playing for keeps, and putting it on the line 'for real' changes the way the event, it makes it more exciting, or memorable and most of all more fun. So come out! Meet the norcal scene, play some games, you might be surprised at how good you get, and how quickly you get there. People are helpful, as long as you are willing to put in the effort some one in norcal will help you improve! Plus if you have any friends who also play fighting games, you'll destroy them if you go to events and they don't! I'm glad to hear you registered, if you show up and introduce yourself to me, I will buy you a coke or something!

I just had a crazy thought oh how to improve organization, we should have one person responsible for a given tournament... and that person will not play in any tournaments! the person running the tourny should also not be commentating, or anything else... just running the tourny. I know that sounds crazy, but it might make life a lot easier, we could rotate the man out, and I volunteer for the job at the next ranbat. Another few ideas to improve organization. -Post the brackets some where so every one can see. -Post up the people who are currently playing and the people who are on "up next"

This onlysol guy will be in California in late june, I am going to try and get him to come to a gathering at that time, so you may get your chance to buy him a cheese burger yet.

Yeah, I agree with Rod, I think we should convert the 2v2 event into a sort of variety "good will" tournament, just to troll ourselves. 2v2, isuka, CvS mode GGAC, Ex-characters, 8v8 pokeman style, GG mode, old school versions of the game etc. Does any body else agree?
