I'd like to ask any one who will be bringing equipment (TVs consoles) to make sure and pre-register, so we can make sure we have enough of everything. Every one else, pre-reg anyway because it makes life easier. or not. what ev. ALSO: GGAC registration with close at 2pm. Expect matches to start 15-30 minutes after that. Qwerty: Do you got my back on helping me make the bracket, and shout peoples names and shit? Don't dodge me like you did for our MM!

this is a forum full of competitive video game players, no one is angry about this. But! we are all ready to tell people what is up if we think they are spouting bull shit. All I am saying is, if you are going talk the talk, you gotta get some respect before any one is gonna listen to you. Respect doesn't necessarily mean winning either, just being willing to play some good games, take your licks or come out on top, either way as long as you are improving your game people will give you props for it. I'd take ginseng up on his offer to play. You might learn something. I'll you've done so far is back pedal. also this song disagrees with you

well perhaps, we should switch the pre-reg over to just keeping track of who is bringing stuff. Also, on the schedule, I think we should move MB an hour later, and GG an hour earlier something like 12pm MB 1pm GG 2pm BB

Pre-reg people arn't getting a discount. I like the idea of increasing pot size after the first tournament.
-
If it is over kill, we won't do it next month. It is pretty easy to do, so why not try it out. At the very least it makes counting set ups easy. Is there a down side to pre-reg?

No skin of my back. I will change the form. Keep in mind that the community is deciding this, not any one person, neither me or you.

$5 was the entry for GGAC last season, so that is why I picked that. decreasing prices for each game messes up the pot, if I play 2 game equally how do I pick one. What if I win my secondary tournament? do I get a pro rated pot because I only entered with 3 dollars instead of 5? It really doesn't work. I wouldn't dream of requiring pre reg, but pre reg helps us out a lot when building brackets and keeping tabs on equipment. I only suggested waiving the 3 dollar community fee for new comers, not reducing their tourny buy in. It makes sense to waive that part, because as a new comer they don't know if playing fighting games in a gameing scene like this is for them, so they shouldn't be forced to invest in its future. I am fine with reducing the price to 3 dollars per game, but I think it is a bit silly. $5 dollars is already a really really low buy in. I don't think $5 buy in will scare away anybody who wouldn't be scared away by $3 entry. At the 5 dollar entry level, the cost is low enough that any body who is willing to play in a competitive environment will compete. Also keep in mind, making the scene really big doesn't mean it will be better, just filled with more whiners and scrubs who aren't willing to improve. We need both quantity and serious players. So the entry needs to high enough to attract quality players! Good competition will come down for bigger tournament pots! I guess we need some sort of incentive to get people to pre-reg? Reduced venue fee is the obvious one... TAO: Please put this on the first page. Summary of currently pre-reggistered players and equipment they are bringing. https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AgCXYxunvErzdGJBSWNEdG9OUW5rSGtfSzRqZ0Q3TGc&authkey=CImuj-8I&hl=en&output=html Last Day to pre-reg will be 1st of Oct.

I fixed spelling mistake. And I will be collecting the money, so... I can verify new players.

Double post incoming: I made up this form, TaoFTW style to help us keep this organized. https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGJBSWNEdG9OUW5rSGtfSzRqZ0Q3TGc6MQ The pricing I put up there, could still change, if people really don't like it but I have $3 for venue and NCI + $5 for each tourny entered. New comers need not pay the community fee. Does that sound good? Maybe move this to the front page of the thread if that sounds good to every one.

I can bring a set up on the 2nd of oct. I will also volenteer to run the GGAC brackets, with back up from Qwerty.

I personally see no problem with 8 dollar entry fee. 5 dollars for pot, 1 for SJSU comp sci club, 2 for Norcal's future benefit. Would that be acceptable to every one?

How long can we stay at the sjsu venue? Would it be open from noon to midnight? In my experience that is the amount of time it takes to hold a ranbat.
