  1. Funny this thread should be bumped because I was about to post here. Yeah, IAD 5a is a pain, but once you get used to it, you can AA 6a CH into air combo, or D counter it. I prefer doing the 6a AA since D might not come out in time. Or, better yet, Yukikaze that stuff if you're pissed. Really rattles e'm. If she spams ground 5a... can't do much. You have to wait until she starts her string, then it's counter heaven. I haven't tried it, but maybe IB'ing a few hits, then counter could work. For her 6a, gotta high block barrier it. Retaliate with 3c -> big combo punish or something. Really, counter is gdlk vs. Noel spammers. The best ones are those who just don't learn after I punish their IAD for the nth time since it's a free win. Good Noels will mix you up all day and easily get in 4-5 combos, but spammers should be free wins. Now, for myself, I have a question. Can you 2D her low hits? Every time 2D comes out, it seems the Noel has priority, and nothing happens. I have no problem with 5/6D, it's just 2D which appears completely ineffective.
  2. Correct me if I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying you can Yukikaze a burst? I'm not sure it would be practical even if you could since baiting that sounds quite difficult already out of Mugen, then timing it... eh. Not sure if it's worth it.
  3. To my previous post, I think they're good to do after a 6B(CH) since the stun is so long. If so, that would make them much more useable, and perhaps up the damage to ~6k though it doesn't reduce the cost. Can't test this yet, so it's speculation. Nice, I'll get to practicing the loop. I can probably do the Tsu/Ho loop since I practiced similar stuff just yesterday. But what's this about a shippu/yuki loop? First time I hear that one exists, and I'm not sure how it'd work.
  4. I started off with #6 (Brown Camo), but now vary between #5 (Golden Carrot!) and the last color (I am Void!), which I favor.
  5. I've been messing around with Tsubaki combos, just for the heck of it, but it's still damaging stuff though they cost a lot. I'm sure these have been done before, but whatever. Examples: -> 2b -> Gurren -> 6c -> Shippu ~5300 -> 2b -> Renka (1) -> Zantetsu -> 5c/3c ~5500 -> Renka (1) -> Zantetsu -> 5c ~5512 -> 5c/2c -> Gurren -> 6c -> Shippu ~5500 -> Hotaru -> j.2c loop (can't tell dmg since I'm still getting the loop timing down ) Now for something slightly different: (Close to corner) Hotaru -> Tsubaki -> 5c -> Zantetsu -> 2b -> 2c -> j.2c loop Hotaru -> Tsubaki -> 5c -> Zantetsu -> 3c ~5578 All are 8 stars except for the last Hotaru combo which is 6 stars. Also, Tsubaki/Hotaru have to be fairly low, especially on those last five combos. CH is not necessary, but it makes it a lot easier to pull off. Useful? Debatable, since there's better uses for 8 stars, and the fact you have to be so low for some of these would make them hard to pull of in a match. But at least it's fun stuff. Finally, I haven't found any Mugen loop combos in this thread. Any help here?
  6. Thanks for the replies. I want to perfect my anti-scrub Haku, so I'll get right on that.
  7. I don't care that he's low tier, I've come to love Haku and now sub the guy. He's really more mobile than given credit for, and hits like a tank. Now, a few questions after raping the general online populace: - Any tension-less (magatama-less?) combos worthy of use? I find myself running out of stars fairly quickly, so long 0 star combos are what I look for (outside of j.2C loop, unless you can get that off with 0 stars). - What's the highest damage combo Haku possesses (outside of that 8 magatama super)? - Any more complete list of combos than what's in the first post? - If I hit with 236A (as first hit of the combo), what are my best choices of combos?
  8. The listing of combos makes the first move the priority, with a bunch of related combos. I think putting the combos in order of usefulness would be good, with the best one in red font at the top or something. Adding a number next to the combo sounds good too. Also, I would suggest taking out the character-specific combos and putting them in their own section. Keep the all-characters combos sorted by starting move (except if there's some variation like 5cdc -> [214a or 236b]). Well, that's really just an example. I'm a freak at organizing stuff, anyway, so I can readily see how it could be improved. Generally, I'd say the current format is a bit cluttered. Just organizing by usefulness/frequency of use or by simply breaking down a combo into its many variations like I did in 1.1) & 1.2) would help a lot, I think. It does look like my method would be a lot of work, though, so that's really up to you.
  9. ^ Noel, Jin, Ragna and Tager are "non-froggables", meaning you can't use 5b 5cdc to frog e'm. For the rest of the cast, if you can 5b them, then 5cdc should take care of it. I see you do 5dcc, which might be your problem. Do 5cdc instead. The wind will last longer to allow the second c to land.
  10. ^ You can always copy + paste into Word and do it yourself. Font's fine as it is.
  11. Oh.
  12. I've found 6A and 2C to be good at stopping dive attacks if timed well, as some have said. I don't find Tao as threatening as some of the cast, since blocking and the aforementioned motions beat out most of her game. I find Tao's the one who really has to work hard to get in, but maybe I have yet to play a good Tao. Just keep your distance, play patient, and let Tao come to you, and not the other way around. You don't want to run into one of her attacks, and get hit with a big combo. However, I just can't seem to counter that pounce super since it's a command throw. Tips?
  13. You have to lose every match, then win them all to get 100% complete. This is one of the easier storylines to finish since you don't have to do distortion drive finishes or beat 4 opponents in a row with D. Drive finishes without saving, etc. Yeah, you have to lose every single match with every character once to get all the %. Tedious.
  14. How about a match-up sub-forum for BB characters like for the GG cast? I can see the Jin section already has a few threads that could be rolled up into such a sub fora, and the others have a few popping up already.

  16. I've no idea where to ask this, so I'll do so here. Is it possible to disable smilies? I've gone through every function in the forum I can find, and found nothing other than disabling those in my own posts. It's just that I find the :v bang: smilie incredibly disturbing, so I was wondering if I could turn it off or something...
  17. AC+: ~590. Using HOS, got done in by a random EX Kliff. Had Berserk, Regen, and flame attack with 11 in atk, and about 7 in defense. The setup was insane, 6HS could kill a character in 2-3 hits, and a Gunblaze combo was enough to finish them in one. I don't think lv 999 is out of my reach. But then, I have yet to encounter any of the gold versions. AC: ~250. Much harder than in AC+, so I never got as far.
  18. After quite a bit of practice... I can now do a full dustloop for every 6-7 attempts. Whew! Which got me experimenting with it. Doing full dustloop to lv3 BRP after a Fafnir strikes me as one of, if not the, strongest combo HOS possesses. Confirmation? Anyway, I tried doing 2x Fafnir into D.loop to lv3 BRP and that easily hits an enemy for 300 damage. I'm assuming 4x Fafnir into D.loop to lv3 BRP is an instant kill? Of course, I can't get that combo to work without RC'ing the Fafnir. 5S and 5HS don't seem to come out fast enough. Any way to correct that? It's too easy to whiff dustloop, so more often than not, it'd end up as a waste of tension. I also tried doing Fafnir after lv3 GB, but the timing on that seems very specific if it's even possible to make a character bounce as he/she lands from the third GB hit. If so, it should be stronger than 2x Fafnir to full D.loop. Haven't been able to do this, however.
  19. Thanks a lot. I gave it a shot using these tips and it went a bit better. I'm up to 3 reps consistently now and I can even do Dustloop from mid-screen sometimes!
  20. I'm new here. Been playing GGAC for a while, but I've only recently decided to become serious about it. I've played other fighters before this one, though only in a button-mashing fashion without regard for structured play. GG changed that. I like Jam, I-no, Testament and ABA. However, HOS was and remains my main. That said, I've finally got the hang of doing combos and its mad fun being able to do so. It's only the simple stuff for now, so no HJ[attack], FRC to SV or whatever for me yet. Currently, I'm practicing HOS's Dustloop and I can manage 2 reps consistently before I drop it and only achieved full Dustloop once before. Any tips on getting it right? I watched the video provided in the first post and it's very helpful, but it doesn't get me doing a full 4 reps.
