2d~b is pretty strong, but as it says, it gets obvious. You can make it baitable though through watching what they do. TaoFTW did this, and I did as well. If they're auto-jumping out of the mixup -> 2d~b, do 2d~b j.B+C. The airthrow hitbox is wierd and catches them off guard. Also, you can 2d~b -> jump since you have one jump left to bait a DP, or have air priority. 5d~a is generally strong as KM said, but 5d~c -> j.c on counter hit is 4k combo, and on block its pretty good... the j.c part I mean. They can DP/AA between the 5d~c and j.c, but then again, just barrier if you see it coming. Free combo. Also, remember the pretty gdlk overhead crossup, with mixup -> 214d -> j.c (reverse) -> dash -> 5b -> 3c blahblahblah.

JWong is probably free, I can't see him taking Top 8 or anything, there is tons of matchup specific stuff, that good fundamentals will only take you so far. BUT he could make it far. Yes, I already knew XDest was mod. Yes, I'm going to EVO. No, I'm not playing because A) Recording/interviewing/taking b-roll/drinking is taking 99% of my time, B) Dualshock3/Sixaxis banned, which is my most comfortable option.

"Hard" changes in the eye of the beholder. Some people don't understand how it works :P Its fuckin cakewalk for me, but for newbies (Which in my opinion, Tao players are NOT newbie friendly, all new players asking questions are ignored, which deters them from learning Tao...) its tough... Yes, we should have a new mod. I thought XDest would be a great choice. Knowledge-wise yes, but basic Mod duties, no... I guess I'll get Spirit Juice on this... again :/

Maybe I should've made that tutorial video TaoFTW is retired. He still plays Guilty Gear at norcal install's here and there, but he has left the scene awhile ago. Its sad, because he was a VERY strong Tao. If it wasn't for John, I wouldn't be here right now, I would never be inspired to play Blazblue, TheBBVlog wouldn't have existed, and I never would have seriously tried Tao. It was a sad farewell :[ Funny how like half of these Tao players here switched to the OTHER furry LOL... Tao j.D is kinda awkward, but honestly CS1 j.d having that much range was sorta broken. j.D is pretty strong in CS2 on hit anyways :P even on non counterhit confirms you can get some good combos Yaaaaayyy Makoto-nation =w=

What KM riku said above pretty much sums up EXACTLY what I was gonna say. I really enjoy the accessible AB2 combos, and her general neutral game, but she really does have a one track mind, especially with bnb. Not saying it's a bad thing for your win factor, but for character fun, she's dropped pretty low. Personally, just for me, I LOVE combos. I like creating stuff. But as riku said with DE, you can't create ANYTHING new without it being completely unusable in a real match. On a positive note, on JP tier lists, she's now top 3! :3

:3 There are certain classes that help you with that kinda stuff, to find what you want to do. Whatever you want to do though, I think you can really pull through, real talk. I really just fell into what I'm doing right now, but I had no training, and no classes. 3 years ago I was at DeAnza, kinda floating around doing Adobe Flash bs and animation courses, but it never really worked out. Then EriKkn invited me to come to a BBCT tourney at SVGL, and it all snowballed from there. Its was just random connections, and it worked out. Not saying that you'll have the same kind of event, but when ever you see a cool thing, just TRY it, and give it a shot. And even if itself isn't fun, but you have a revolutionary idea AROUND it, then go for it :3

I'm not at training mode right now, but I don't think that will work. 214a~c~d is very prorate touchy, sometimes the D wont hit unless its level 3, and sometimes it doesn't hit at all. But doesn't hurt to try. Good point, at least for not dropping the combo to kill them, BBS after 214a~c~d is probably a lot safer. Should see how much that nets in damage in stone. As for your ender, you typically never want to go alllll the way up on the j. parts, jb jc JC jb jc DP goes really high, and you lose your oki because they tech before you land on the ground. Unless its going to kill them. just do one jb jc and DP after, it should be a little better. Oh and I dont know if you wrote it wrong, but you usually always want to do jc jb JC jc jb instead of the other way around.

If you can do it really fast, I guess you can, but you'd need a decent mic. Its not a big deal. I was talking to Dacid about this, it was getting to the point that I was playing Tao for so long, I've developed very VERY repetitive habits, and has been totally inhibiting my ability to "grow" my Tao. I always liked Makoto, even in CS1, but never really took her seriously. Just seeing that I can finish combos with decent oki, and great damage CONSISTENTLY makes me more viable with her instead. I'll still play Tao though

I switched to Makoto ;__; Any EVO goes that play Tao, I'd like to try to get you on the recording if possible. I don't think there is one legit CS2 Tao on BBV yet
