He looks.. stiff. I know this is coming from a hakumen main, but he looks restricted in the way he plays. I wonder what are the properties of his dashes since he can go through opponents. My guess is he'll be a high damage character like hakumen with the way he's looking so far. Quite a few people I know are interested in him. This. Onegai yamette Mod-san ;_; -

If you're asking if you could just simply grab Azrael out of his guard point stance, then that would be stupid imo. he doesn't seem to have any downright umvc3-esk offensive tools, so a solid reversal is necessary in my view. -

based on this: I would say yes, since it'll probably be his go-to reversal on wakeup. And he doesn't look like a character who would be developed without a reversal in his gameplay. What? -

No it seems to be an all-around guard point, I saw it cause a counter hit on someone trying to hit it, unless I am mistaken. Good sensible discussion about characters, dustloop has come a long way. Now we just need someone to post something stupid so that we can all go back to hating fellow posters on dustloop. -

^ Sounds like people are just angry they can't use the same approach on a character who is supposed to have the best defensive options in the game by design. Unlike most of the cast he's not very mobile and is forced to block and punish. Counters can easily be punished honestly. -
You never noticed that big symbol that ppears when you're charging shippu, it's blue. Nor the same symbol at the center of the yukikaze sumbol?

2d while active on frame 1, is only active for 8 frames, and it's recovery is as long as Hazama's jayoku (34 frames). 6d is also active on frame 1, lasts 9 frames, and recovers for 26 frames, which is longer than ragna's hells fang followup on block (24 frames). jd is active on frame 1, lasts 7 frames, and recovers for the entire time he's falling PLUS an additional 12 frames of recovery after he lands. 5d active on the 5th frames, lasts 15 frames, and recovers for 13 (which is one frame less than bang's 3c). If anything this is his strongest counter, and in some cases is a better AA than his actual AA. I don't see how his counters are "impossible to punish" and "op" as some of you put it, especially with mAc's info as well. -
They're out to get us at ArcSys and on dustloop it seems.

Ok, I'm going to try and talk this out without having a flamewar over characters. How are we not committed to our counters? What counters are you referring to that are "unpunishable"? -

The reason hakumen was ass in ct, was because he was incomplete. They "balanced" him based off guesses, and no inputs from players. As such his projectile cutting ability was nigh useless, that it wasn't even used at his level player since if you cut something you couldn't move. he basically had NO way of dealing with zoning, nor could he really keep people out since there was no jc/4c. Which also kept him from getting knockdowns at the end of his combos. I find in extend he's back to hitting like a tank but with more creative ways of doing so. @Isuna, was does the calligraphy for each of hakumens special moves say? And what is that symbol that appears when he does a super/astral?

I don't think I'm the only who believes isuna deserves a BB award for getting info on BBCP as well as translating info for us. And doing illegal recording of the game for us to analyze. -
wtf is going on in this thread. CT? I hated that game. I'll probably hate CP too lol. What are you waiting for? I also believe I'm the worst mirror match player in any fighter. EDIT: Zantetsu is also useful for those last hit when your opponent doesn't want to burst.

I usually use it after a well spaced jc or 4c. It catches a lot of people off guard, since they just want to mash buttons. Steelcoil also gets a Btw the hakumen forums have NEVER been this active before.

Jeeze so many posts, need to read through them later. Anyways zantetsu is a major tool in the tager matchup, since he can't completely backdash out of it, due to it having 2 hits.

I'm certain Azrael, due to his love of fighting strong people, will most likely get a hard on for facing any of the 6 heroes like Bang and Tager do. Yes. This thread seems to be going crazy, anyone have any idea of Azrael's health, he looks like a 11,500 at minimum if not as much as hakumen (12,000). And can anyone explain to me exactly how his drive works, as in this whole weak point thing. If he creates a lower body weak spot does that mean every time he goes for a low is does extra damage or is simply an unblockable? His fighting style also looks very plain, but very nice teleport-dashes. Amane has the most entertaining style of them all, but I haven't seen Bullet's grappler abilities besides her super(s). -

Yea I was looking forward to Mr. Fabulous' bio. but they didn't reveal it from what it looks like. Azrael being in the game makes the most sense so far compared to the other new characters. Kinda generic bio/character but still kinda cool, I'm sure he'll have beef with Hakumen. That's exactly Sagara Sousuke lol.
