  1. You guys should really check out this new Hakumen player named JUN, he's been appearing in a lot of matches lately. At first I didn't bother to watch any of his matches, but after checking him out now, he's legit. I'd add him in the CSEX thread, but that's kinda pointless with CP coming out in a few days. @Nolan, I can't tell you who taught me how to play :3
  2. I'm just trying to understand why he believes a new game will change anything, not option selecting.
  3. Hakumen sucked in cs2, excuses are what? It's not like Nu is going to be borderline broken again, unless having a borderline broken character is what you NEED to win. The you might as well drop Faust too and just main ACP Justice in GG. You didn't beat me in cs2, and Hakumen was free in that version of the game. But I guess it's best to hope that Nu is borderline broken (again) and Hakumen is terribad (again), for your sake.
  4. You need to avoid having patterns and be as random and spontaneous as possible, in my opinion, I'm still learning him. But players like Zekuso, and Masashi really show how to be offensive and completely unpredictable in their offense. Not knowing how your opponent is going to try and get in close on you and pressure you is a scary thing. A way of developing this fear is through things like dash cancels and fake outs, it keeps them guessing since they are left uncertain as to when you will actually commit to homing in on them. valk's dash cancel fake outs have 7 frames of invincibility making them even more scary, by using those and managing your wolf meter it allows you to evade your opponents attacks and punish them for it, either by forcing them to block your pressure or they're still in recovery from the last attack they sent out hoping it would hit you. Fake outs are a key to his neutral game. Along with using the wolf cancel properties off some of his normals and specials, making it even harder for your opponent to block your pressure. This is currently something I haven't gotten used to with Valk, since Hakumen isn't about being random in the way he plays, other than some street fighter mechanics (empty jumps and such)
  5. One of those gound overheads looks really unsafe on block though.
  6. Only when 4+ stars, usually it's preferred if you just mash 5d instead though. Depends if your opponent has a reliable AA, if so, then jd. Yes, and now you have what it takes to join the ranks of the white void. Congratulations
  7. Zeth for Azrael mod, I see it in flashing neon lights :3 His dashes look incredibly strong. I'm curious as to how his damage will rake up compared to previous versions of Hakumen and CP Hakumen. Based off the loketest, Tager is going to have a REALLY hard time magnetizing him. The post about slayer movements soudns interesting, now I now why slayers moves come out of the blue and so safe x[
  8. Yea burst damage is an important feature about him, along with his "absolute" defense. I like his current build because he still capitalizes on the mistakes of opponents, A LOT, and if you're able to avoid making mistakes while on neutral or on offense. he can still be like, "lol I'm gonna force you to make a mistake :]" I hope he still retains some of those features, jb should rightfully be nerfed, along with an air unblockable 5a. There's no reason for his 5a to be air unblockable when he has an AA, in my view. I'm looking forward to his new combo system though. @Nolan, I have/had a sensei in secret :3
  9. This is getting hilarious :3 wat? Now THIS is even funnier. For once we agree You can't teach someone how to be free Nedel It's your main weakness as a player... Oh wait, I get it now :3 You're referring to suzakumon! yea it's the reason I could never learn someone like Relius or Carl, too much shit to think about. I have enough to think about using Hakumen.
  10. I'm looking forward to seeing this hakumen sunday.
  11. Check out Azrael vs Tager on Isuna's channel, you'll see what I mean. Apparently even Hakumen's 5c whiffs right through Azraels dashes.
  12. Never had that issue, no one plays my mains, *points to status above avatar*.
  13. This made me lol when I thought about her going blind. lol You forgot Nedel, but you're technically right since Nedel mains lambda and not V13 , Litchi , Relius , and maybe Tao . This. Oh shi- them fightin words :3 That's your only anti 2d tool? I go for more tick grabs against her after really short pressure strings, like maybe 2 buttons at most, I almost never use 3c and throw out a lot of 5c. Also, what's this about a new robo-Tsubaki? Not sure if impressed. The only Tsubaki I need is the one I smash people on the head with. Pick her up by the feet and start flipping out. Darn robo-socialists. :< I think the only character I haven't seen played seriously in MTL is Relius. At least one person mains someone in the cast. Hopefully more players will come about from CP. Relius is easier than Tao I'm certain sensei. We all are.
  14. Except Mori has stated he's doing his best to remove loops from the game. Even though I can't imagine an ArcSys game without any loops whatsoever lol. Tagers combos are hella easy compared to Pretty much the rest fo the cast, AC/J2C x n>gadget finger>stuff>GIGANTIC!!!! Hakumen always like he was above average in terms of execution and learning to use his tools in matches. He's nowhere near as hard as Valk to use optimally, but he's nowhere near "pick up and play" type of character. I spent a month mastering Hakumen's super jump corner loops. I literally just sat in training mode sweating trying to do those loops until my left wrist was hurting, and even then I didn't stop. You can't just give up characters based off loketests. The way I see it, learning to use their shittier iterations just makes you all that much more of a better player. That's why I grinded out playing on stick and learning to develop my skills with cs2 Hakumen, now look at me with CSEX hakumen. Nolan can vouch for me on this. that and flat out blowing someone up after you figured out their tendencies and are outright afraid of you :o It does significantly actually :3
  15. Most likely, he has enough invincibility to not only get out of range of Tager's drive in the middle of block strings, but even make them whiff during his backdash if he can't get out of range. Spark bolt is too big for it to pass through you. And I can't 44 through stuff
  16. lol YUKIKAZE!!! I like the way that sounds already, I'm biased against gold bursts. <3
  17. Wolf meter recharges really fast so in otherwords, RTSD-FOREVER! Sorry for all those typos lol and very good point there. I would like to see him playable personally, for an anthropomorphic samurai ninja cat, he's pretty badass... OH true, I guess cus I choose characters on games based off 60% aesthetics and 40% gameplay mechanics
  18. I was actually wondering the samething about you :D See you sunday buddy. I'm looking forward to it, especially since it's important to have at least 90% of the cast played in mtl anyways. I thought you only used Relius on hitbox though. Heartless is pretty scummy actually, and I know he's taught Brice some scummy shit. And besides montreal players all feel themselves, or at least strive to get to the level where you can feel yourself. Except Kaeru, he's too pure, righteous and incandescent for that stuff.
  19. QuietWrath, are any of you guys changing mains?
  20. Thought I was the only person who picked up on that. Due to the fact taht he's in Tao's Astral, unless they've chanegd her Astral, I doubt he'll be playable. So i guess the hakumen-like meter above her heat meter isn't just for show? SOunds liek she'll have similar mechanics to Hakumen. In a sense, kinda like Hakumen. Nice catch, also your posts consistently make me laugh. I wanna know how Quiet-Wrath, Level 5-Chan, and other Tsubaki mains feel about Izayoi, are they happy, are they sad, are they changing, or are they dead set stuck on their wannabe wannabe Order Sol character. Also is it just me or does "Izayoi" have a full fledge beam super? it's about fucking time if that's the case, this game is missing beam supers. She looks really cool though. I feel like I'm looking forward to everything in this game EXCEPT Hakumen, outside of his pending story/arcade modes :/
  21. I forgot to mention that. THAT needs to go, so what now I need to block herp derp instant overheads from rachel or anyone else because he's such a big dude? Get the fuck outta here.
  22. Lol I stand corrected. Looks like I'll have to go and pick up Avengers Assemble again. Iron Man #1 was pretty good though, so I'll keep reading this series.
  23. Pretty much what he says. If they make sure he can still get explosive damage off his magatama collection, give him a comboable 6b (he needs to actually have mixup options if you intend on giving him oki after combos), and AT LEAST make it hard to block his counters I'll be fine. The onyl reason they did that was because many of his inputs collided with one another. CT: Accidently going guren instead of kishuu/enma. Accidently doing renka instead of wake up tk hotaru. CS1: Still accidently doing wake renka isntead of wake up tk hotaru. Hence the input changes, I'm honestly glad they fixed all of those things with each iteration of the game. Compared to every other version of Hakumen, cs2 was the least damaging. A fucking squirrel genki girl hit twice as hard as him anywhere on the screen. Are you referring to 2b or 2a here? Because from my understanding it's 2b that got nerfed the most and 2a got a slight buff in terms of gattlings :/ I don't like what they've done mostly to his counters, making it safer for the opponent to throw things out, especially Carl/Relius. Nerfing Akumetsu, even though it was already nigh useless and EXTREMELY costly to use. Was that really necessary ArcSys? But I like how they're trying to change his combo system, yes air dash for everything has been fun. But it woudl be nice for a new combo system in a new game, something different for once. It would be redundant to be doing the same combos for the 3rd/4th year now. As long as they keep his combos meter efficient as all.
