Yea I want the hakumen forums to be accessible and active (though hakumen players don't really post lol). I think Spark said he'll handle the video thread :s though I doubt he'd have the time for it. But Spark doesn't have to do everything on his own anymore.

If we do a good job, ideally we'll get awards and other forums will benefit from our work. More concerned with improving the forums around dustloop.
-
There's no need of a co-mod, but he CAN make the threads and we can add stuff to it when we please, unlike csex due to sansprotocol going ghost on us. I actually had a few interesting ideas for the matchup threads. But at this point it's too little too late, and I'll just save it for CSEX. I feel we can make the Hakumen forums and dustloop as a whole better and more accessible for new players coming in. It's something I would like to see implemented. Spark is an awesome mod, I would say up there with Toa (he actually posts a lot for a mod which is cool), and circ who keeps people in line without going extreme (mostly because he already has his rep). The hakumen players in this forum just need to be a lot more proactive is all.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
BladeOfJustice7 replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
A typical combo as actually 3-4k and 2k off a grab, so no average combos aren't 4-6k. But the combos are lengthy. But I don't find Merkava excels in any way in particular, but I would him slightly above Orie, due to his screen presence, and safe options. -

What you're saying sounds pre-patch analysis in my view. Most of the cast members need to do approx 3 combos to win a round. Pre-patch was very marvel, and Merkava was a beast, I don't see him nowhere near as strong/OP as he was when the game initially dropped. -

he has really good screen presence but it only nets him into random hits, into weak oki. but if his command grabs worked like Tager he would be ridiculously strong. But as he is now, he's terrible, period. I wouldn't nerf his command grab ex simply because his mixup game would be REALLY weak without it. Merkava is average in my view, if not slightly above average. he has strong screen presence into solid damage, and good mobility. Yea I've been saying that from time, dat berserker slash lol... Yes I have to agree on this one. She can convert pretty much any hit into a combo, and it'll place the opponent into the corner for more scary pressure from her. i'm goign to pay more attention to her from now on as well. But she seems like a stronger zoner than vatista, thus far. Persona oki so far seems lack luster compared to her instant overhead. I haven't seen it pay off, and no one uses ex persona orb for oki thus far. Anyone who shoots lasers should have strong zoning capabilities. But she's scary upclose with her pressure though and dp will blow you the fuck up lol. I would make his projectile less fragile personally, especially ex houbaku no segment, if you hit it it goes away. Only good thing about it is that it still remains even if seth gets hit, but its tracking skills still kinda suck lol. Yea I would agree with this, the health drain properties with average mixup and strong zoning tools doesn't help him. it's just discussion mightfo -

Circ, you're a great mod, but do you EVER say anything that's positive reinforcement? The more I reply to you the more confused I get... They only go away if he hits them from my understnading. -
Aside from Spark, me and you are the most skilled Hakumen players that are consistently on dustloop. I've been spending the last few months finding matches of the other hakumen players in the community. They're good, but post infrequently, in order to make the Hakumen forums more useful to new players, but CP will have A LOT of new players, what I have in mind I need someone I know who won't vanish *stares at sansprotocol* This made me lol, and I'll sig it as well.

Will it be you who compiles the videos, or is it still unofficially my delegation?

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)

I actually found Linne gave Seth a hard time with her easy rush down ability and slightly superior range and a stronger projectile than him. Hyde has berserker slash into free pressure if it didn't already hit. -

Lol the "chart" only showed matchups in accordance to who has been playing on that particular cabinet. It's like that for all fighter on arcade cabinets. Actually it's even in the latest "next gen" fighters when you looks at the "stats" in your copy of BB and I'm sure it's present in P4U as well. And it's all good lol, no harm done. There is no way we would be discussing a game that has an actual 10-0 matchup lol -

No tier talking going on, but you do know that "Matchup chart" is a joke right? -

Adjusted to show how I would order it. I'm curious as to why you put Orie so low and Merkava/Hyde so high though. -

Didn't think you were still awake, I'll take a shot at you when I edit this post again with a reply. EDIT: I haven't seen anything good/promising from Waldstein. Up until this point I still don't know if his command grabs work as strike grabs like Potemkin, or the opponent must be on neutral like Thor from umvc3. But it is hard for him to always convert random hits into combos, and they easily drop depending on the spacing. PLus his damage is kinda weak when compared to Gordeau, whose command grab looks scarier than Waldstiein's at the moment. It's important to note that Gordeau is TERRIBLE matchup for Waldstein. I have nothing to say here, I think we both like him because he reminds us of Hakumen, correct me if I'm wrong. But Grim Reaper EX is a legit reversal with invincibility frames and a MASSIVE hitbox that is air unblockable, it's also good to note that Mortal Slide EX is scary fast safe and leads to nearly 3k damage. I've occasionally seen gordeau's catch people with their pants down with Mortal Slide EX. never played melty but yes, he is a threat up close and far away, but his mixup is lack luster considering the important of SNAAAKEES in his oki game. It's hard to get a hit while the opponent is pinned down by them, even including SNAAAAKES EX. You need to elaborate more on how you see his gameplay, because I'm not following you. yes she has all the necessary tools to win, and her combos REALLY run down the clock lol. She seems like a better version of Seth to be honest with you guys. As i've started to see strong yuzu's playing they actually can pick up early 3k combos off any random hit ont he screen, with or without CH. I haven't paid much attention to her teleports, there must be a downside to them or we'd be seeing them abused every match. Yes, since the patch she's fallen to midtier I owuld say, nothign glaringly bad, but nothign stupid strong. Divine thrust is still an excellent way to get in and leads to decent damage. Her persona ball oki seems weak since she cannot make use of her instant overhead since her persona is already doing an attack and can't switch into the uppercut slash. Yes people haven't figured her out yet, because her zoning looks lackluster and her dp is too strong and the EX versions does immense damage for a dp super and is very difficult to punish. He seems to still need some slight tweaks, since the patch he has improved matchup across the boards, his damage is decent. It's his oki that's crazy, very difficult to block and can create guessing situations. His teleports work the same ways as Vergil from umvc3, but he can run which creates a lot of options for him. However, his teleports are unsafe and requires a lot of time to get your opponent to respect you. His orb can be removed by hitting him or the ball before it shoots, which really hurts his pressure and taking control of the tempo if he doesn't get it at the beginning of the round or losses it while pressuring the opponent. Minimal range and no real safe way fo getting in really hurts him. But we've seen exactly how scary he is in the right hands. I agree that he should've gotten Yuzu's teleports frame properties. Him and vatista need more time to be fleshed out I think. But I feel that as it stands Linne's rush down is much stronger and safer than Seth's and Yuzu's zoning is scarier than Vatista. Yes when his health is gone and you give ZERO fucks, getting in on him seems very difficult. However it is difficult for him to open the opponent up without sacrificing a lot of health. They either need to alter how much health he loses per move, or buff the damage on moves that drain his health. Luckily his supers don't affect his health from what I can see, or else it would make whiffing moves the worse thing. -
Fair enough Montreal has a really strong Lambda and mAc plays against you ALL the time. As for Tager, I think Spark (mostly), mAc, and myself have good tagers to play against and know what to do. WHat you say makes sense, especially since Lambda and tager force hakumen to play out of his comfort zone entirely

Why Lambda and then Tager?

I wouldn't go as far as that, he's too scumbag to mod. But he's a good player, that's the thing.

Who has pretty bad meter management, imo.

"Shit I can't get in close, BERSERKER SLASH" Did it hit? Yes, do a combo. Did it hit? No, mash 2a till it works. -__- Air-dash jc, leads to 3 things: 1. Charge it low to the ground so that it whiffs and go for a command grab/6a (I think that's his overhead). 2. If jc hits, "yay combo in 5k :D" 3. Air dash jc>2a>6a>aim opening/mortal slide for tech traps. That's about it. He would have terribad mixup if it wasn't for his Assimilation command grab. Characters like who? -

I want mAc working in tandem with Spark to manage the Hakumen matchup threads from now on.

Yea it's been like that for a while Yea she got banned for breaking too many licensing issues for posting combo videos from nico nico. Blame sony for that since appearantly they own all songs and no one is allowed to post them on youtube. EVER. I lost a lot of awesome old school GG combo videoes because youtube sold us out to corporate america >_> Luckily nico still has those combo videos and I downloaded them. Anyways she created a new channel and I updated the thread. It's mostly with those Chin matches, some sets I watched with Chibaken against various characters, and I added a new player named "Jun". Enjoy P.S we should start talking about video compilation with regards to CP coming out soon. Do we make a new thread and archive this one? Do we move CS videos down under and keep the first post only for CP, thoughts?
