Yo, for that MTNG video, unless we have the footage recorded, edited, and uploaded by THIS WEEKEND, I'm not sure if we'll have the time to use it impact attendance. If this cant happen: Instead, I suggest everyone bringing a camera that can shoot video to the venue and we'll make a "see what you missed" vid with hype, shenanigans, happy people, and gameplay. (I think we should go this regardless) So get your combos or shenanigans that you want to call your own done and submitted to either Woz or Jackie so we can get this project going. Doesn't have to be a video, you can just use notations to describe it. AND KEEP PROMOTING BOTH KING OF BLING AND THE MTNG COMMUNITY!!! Print out, USE THE FLIERS!! Talk to people!

I got this sweet gun in Borderlands 2. Edit: Not really, I'm still <level 10. I got some neat stuff, though. Like this Gatling pistol that gets better accuracy the more you fire it, and a rifle that shoots grenades.

I didn't change anything. I don't see a misspelling. Stop making fun of Doromac.

That's the MTNG Monthly Vs. Tourneys thread for you. This always happens and we drop the subject two days later max, and then something silly happens. From there, it's sensible conversation until it happens again. It's a stable loop that never incurs much hard feelings.

To the lovely people that just recently started following the thread, videos of MTNG tournaments are available at http://www.youtube.com/user/MTNGNetwork I hate the follow the leader stuff so much. Must be a slow news day when all anyone has to report is "Tokido isn't play Persona anymore". Big fuggin' deal. And then this sparks another "Oh, Persona is dead." wave. Seriously. F all this noise.

I can answer that. It may be a matchup thing, but it's just a pressure thing that this particular Yosuke wants. He prefers to be in Yukiko's face at all times to prevent her from establishing any kind of her zoning shenanigans and not doing the Kunai or anything else ensures that she won't tech high in the air where she has a chance to get away. Also after some raw B and EX Dash Spring hits he'll stop after the second moonsault and wait for the instatech. The Yukiko fall for it nearly every time and he capitalizes with a 2B combo. It just depends on the Yosuke player, what they like to do, and how they want to approach the opposing player and their character. Dash spring and Moonsault both have recovery on their landing on block, but not enough to where the opponent, if they're expecting another air action and waiting, can't punish Yosuke for it. It won't often work on opponents that pay attention and know Yosuke. On hit, we're pretty okay to continue pressure or go for a throw or something else.

Had a good session with a Teddie. I've scrapped the idea of using j.C on him. It seems to me that everything he does will stuff it ending in loss of a card and a counterhit. TV plant is silly. Since none of his aerials hit high you can always block low if he uses the TV's. Be aware of throws and AoA's. He has good range on all of his normals and, coupled with items, he makes you approach him much differently. I'm still trying to figure it out, but 5A and 5B don't do the trick. Sweep and 5C are valuable tools if you want to be on the ground. GET OUT OF THE CORNER IT SUCKS SO MUCH BEING THERE AGAINST TEDDIE.

This is why I keep stressing to everyone to --spread the word-- and recruit and talk about the crew and the games we play in public.

Pretty sure we aren't sleeping on Akihiko when the character makes up a good percentage of the character spread in the area. Talking about Akihiko's weaknesses doesn't mean anyone is sleeping on him.

So I learned something new at a tournament. Yosuke's trip is not unblockable. Someone airdashed into me, I DP'd a persona hit, and my opponent instant blocked. Luckily I didn't get punished for it like I feel I should have, but I'm sure we all knew this, it's just never come up. Was messing around in training mode, this evening. If you moonsault on top of someone, as in Yosuke is overlapping his opponent completely, Crescent slash(looks like it's almost on the other side) can be blocked in either direction as long as they stand up, unless i'm really bad at pushing a stick in a direction with my foot. Profound sadness at no ambiguous crescent slash.

I'm being misunderstood, and my definition of rushdown is more or less the same as you all's but it's different enough to where I'm being looked at like i'm in the wrong. Just gonna leave the above quote and back out with I didn't actually say what archetype of character I think Akihiko is, I only said he wasn't full-on rushdown. We should also come up with a three-person loadout should it come to pass that a state isn't able to bring a full five. (As in we might have to donate the Tennessee player that loves Michigan the most to be on their team under the moniker Undercover Spy)

If we're comparing Chie to Akihiko, Meteors only take 50 meter, while Akihiko Maziodyne > OMC (This is what you're referring to, right?) takes 100. Kill Rush isn't a move that needs to be used raw like that very often. As a Yosuke player, if I smell one coming, i'm going to low profile it or just give him the 5C boot since the punches don't come out till he reaches the player character. You can't just cut out Chie's okizeme like that to say that Akihiko is on par with her without it, because she -does- have it.
-
Chie is. She doesn't really have a problem getting in and establishing her gameplan. If she gets knocked away, she can get in without much trouble and definitely with less hassle than Akihiko. Especially with Meteors.
-
Mm, lemme clarify. My personal description of rushdown is being able to get from full screen easily to the opponent's face and stay there for the rest of the match while limiting the opponent's escape options. Akihiko has a little trouble getting in and controlling the flow of the match, which is I, personally, wouldn't put him completely in the rushdown category. Once he's in he's fantastic and the Soul of a Boxer. Classifying by current Player skill could be inaccurate in the upcoming months. Also if we take top placers, double elimination brackets can be inaccurate.
-
For the record, Yosuke isn't rush down. He's neutral game in-n-out mixup. He hates being in people's faces unless they're not blocking. Then again I don't think Akihiko is rush down either. Labrys is crossup+spacing Yukiko is Zone+spacing Elizabeth is, in Volpe's paraphrased words "gimmick zoning" Naoto is zoning, anti-neutral game Teddie is.... I don't even know. Teddie is Faust in bear form. Before I get jumped on, everyone has elements of everything, the anode is just what feel Their strong points are

Ballliiiiiinnnn'! One more for Team Tennessee! On a Persona note: I feel comfortable "enough" with my normals and movement and how they work to start playing how I really want to play. Klein, Zeth, and Patrick saw the work in progress, I think i've worked out some of the kinks to where I feel confident I can play like that, how I feel Yosuke, my Yosuke anyway, is 'supposed' to be played.
