Dude I love egg and cheese croissants.

That's not how I behave. It'll turn into an argument or i'll be chastised on how their usage doesn't affect my online fighting game's framerate and I really can't be arsed to deal with that. I hate arguing, i'm submissive, and don't like requesting people to stop doing things that they enjoy, even if it's so I can do something, myself.

I hate having roommates when all I want to do is play Persona online. Justin is always streaming anime -and- in a stupid video call on Skype, KO is actually not that bad, but sometimes he's playing League and he's often in a voice call on Skype. Fuggin' even 3 bar connections are unplayable. Lose matches you don't deserve to lose, Milln. Lose more. The only time I can play online is when nobody is home, which is never. F this, man. I can't do what I want to do because other people do what -they- want to do and I don't like being a punk, asking for them to stop engaging in their recreation. Expect text messages from me from now on asking if you want to play Persona. I will drive to your fuggin' house.

^ I'd say just get more familiar with your attacks, what links into what, what won't combo, stuff like that. I saw lots of drops cause you did B Dash Spring instead of A, drops because you needed to buffer a dash after a jump in, and a couple mechanics misunderstandings. After that, we can give you even better advice.
-
The people I play with know very well it's plus on block, they just absolutely don't care. I'll 5A 5B dash do it again, but of I mess up, I get counterhit by some 2A. The only tick throws I get are off of 5A. I'll keep 2C iAd in mind for people. Yosuke has so many options sometimes I feel I need to write them down in my phone under different categories and reference them between rounds. Dude I've always loved 5C. I've dubbed it "The Boot". And it works wonders.
-
Help with block strings in normal mode? The players around me, they pay a lot of attention to my patterns on block and punish if I Tenta, or get away if I end it with 2C. Of course the obvious answer is switch it up, but I'm open for brainstorming. So far I have "blah" 5C delay 2C but this either gets blocked or Jiraiya gets popped by an option select jab. "blah blah" 5C, 2C, Tentarafoo "blah" 5C, 2C, A or B dash spring. B sometimes catches raw of they do something to counter Tenta. "blah" 5C Tenta. Sometimes this works if they sleep until they see 2C. "blah" 5C 2C 5D or 5C 2C 5D 5B Tenta usually catches the opponent sleeping. 2B jump cancel > mixup is fun. Feel free to tell me how I'm doing it wrong. I've begun using 5C as a general poke because of its range so Yosuke is far away from danger. Using 5A or 5B is scary against people with good spacing. Whiff on a backdash sucks.

Yeah, that's another reason why I play the characters that I do. They don't really need HD mode at all. I understand that it uses resources, it's what I was lauding when the game came out. It's just that I steadily grew to not be a fan of that one mechanic. I'll poke around with Taco Del Lori. Both versions seem nifty and worth a second shot. Or I'll use Maxima and meatball sub everyone.

Dunno what he's talking about, but the Fatal Counter combo i'm doing most often is this one: Fatal Counter 2C, 236B, j.2C, 2A, 2C, jump cancel j.2b 236A~A, 236A delay A, j.2C, 2A, 5AAA, 236B~A Works anywhere, gives 51.... 52.... SP so you can always Garudyne or just stack the meter for later. Does 5893, maybe 500 damage less than the other one that has a different ending sequence, but gives waaayyyy more meter, making it more efficient and therefore a more worthwhile combo for me, personally. Unless of course, it's going to kill and I already have enough for a Garudyne.

A precarious one. I prefer to A Moonsault away and D Kunai if I see my opponent move. Tentarafoo scumbag mixups work perfectly. The opponent is too focused on blocking, than on reacting to Jiraiya resetting their confusion. I got four Tentarafoo enders(to both blocks and hits, I didn't care.) in a row against many people today at a local gathering. Jump cancelling iAD air turn j.B also works pretty well. Did that multiple times and only got punished for it when I screwed up, only had it blocked once. B Dash Spring, A Moonsault, A Moonsault, OMC jump forward air throw to catch back tech also worked the one time I tried it. 5DD with Moonsault shenanigans in the corner also work just fine. Pretty much all of the tech and gimmicks we've been coming up with in this thread have been successful as long as you don't overuse them and can play it off well. I am pleased and happy this is so. Also had something weird happen. I rolled though an Akihiko Furious Action. The first hit caught the startup frames of the roll, but the second hit missed and I was on the other side and was able to punish. trollface, I guess.
-
I did try other characters, but alright I'll mess around again. Kensou is indeed balls as an achor, I just do gimmicks with him and they seem to work half the time. It's not that my characters don't have a use for HD Mode, it's really just because I don't like it. I understand that it's hype, and I understand that it uses a lot of resources. I don't enjoy that it lets you kill a character because the game turns into Marvel for a couple seconds.
-
You've seen it from me, too (so yeah, in ranked hahaha) It's possible because Yosuke's j.2B allows him to cancel the startup for some reason. by my logic, other characters with air command normals should be able to do it, too, but Aigis has a j.2B, and she doesn't need a glide.
-
Oh! Yosuke's j.2B, he can kara cancel it into an air turn. So what he'll do is, air dash, j.2BkaraAirTurn and what happens is he gets the rapid descent of a backdash with the speed of a forward dash. This is called gliding and is very useful. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14824-Yosuke-Gliding-Explanation
-
Yosuke being able to glide. He says glitch, I say design oversight that opens up his options, just like wavedashing in melee. I still play. I don't practice it as much as Persona, definitely, but I still play and think about it. He thinks I don't practice Kof, but he also thinks I hate him, he also thinks i'm retarded. He doesn't have the ability to see what I do at all times, either. I practice by thinking of setups during the day, testing them out when I get home, and making sure I don't drop every combo ever. We play every once in a while, but it's him that initiates it since I only play three characters and he's voiced numerous times how boring that is for him. Hoowwweeevveerrrr, what I was saying about "legitimately not feeling okay with the game." is steadily rising. I really don't have a lot of love for HD mode. The respect I used to have for it isn't really there anymore. There's a couple other things in the game that I don't like, but the fun factor still outweighs all those things. Until it stops being fun, i'll keep playing it. That's really all that it is for me. I only like Mature, Duo Lon, and Kensou and even then not so much on Kensou. Maxima is fun be to silly with.
-
Yeah, we're saying the same thing. We get each other. Also, for giggles, from my Twitter: Guess i'll watch anime till I fall asleep. Hmm... what's Elfen Lied about, again? I forget. *first shot is of a bloody, severed arm* .... Ohhhhh yeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh......

Heh heh this made me chuckle. Good night. I can't sleep this evening for some reason. YO, WHO'S SWANGIN' THROUGH TO FIGHT NIGHT?

I haven't heard these design and balance decision issues. I've heard only good things. Only bad stuff is backlash over Chris G. If people that you play with are migrating, another option is to find new people and grow your community. More people to play with also might make the people that were going to leave, stick around. Your second paragraph is difficult to read and is contradictory with its content. You promote... nevermind it's probably stemming from my earlier statement not being clear. What i'm saying, with examples: People play Skullgirls, then a patch is announced and everyone drops it for whatever random game instead of keeping it alive at large. Persona is announced and everyone plays it, but then Skullgirls patch nears and people are talking about quitting Persona for Skullgirls, new iteration of BlazBlue gets an article. An Article! and people are talking about quitting Persona for BlazBlue. Tekken Tag 2, people are dropping games for it. Aquapazza gets a japanese release and people are like "Ah, that's my game." Persona is a barely a month old in the states. It's still going strong. It's fun as all get out in general. There's no reason to quit playing it unless you legitimately do not feel okay with the game. I'm complaining about the lack of devotion that seems to be present in the fighting game community. There isn't a necessity to play the new game. There isn't a necessity to stick to the old game. What is annoying is playing something and then dropping it completely, maybe even before a solid metagame gets a chance to form, for the sole reason that a new game is coming out. That's my point. Seriously. If this keeps up, i'm just gonna go play Windjammers on GGPO. (not really) I couldn't find "Yet another possibility of the continuum shift" graphic, so here's this instead.
-
I hate this, too. It makes rage on people. I've slapped(if anyone can believe this) someone in years gone by for this. Crossed out cause, yeah that is unbelievable. It was a play-slap, anyway. Man, Arson, i'd go if I didn't have to work. I really would. I feel like i'm pretty darn decent at Persona now and working all the time on getting better and more & more unpredictable. Yo, I hate to be a killjoy, but no Persona teams for September 15th. Jason got it mixed up for King of Bling.
-
And here I was considering recruiting you for a teammate for insane Yosuke/Mitsuru beat down. YO. BROSUKE AWESOMEMURA HERE FOR A PARTNAH. Jokes. Did you ever finish Graces? Dude, Volpe is the Elizabeth PSR God.
-
I'm not bashing, persay, just expressing my dissatisfaction with people in fighting game communities all over. It just creates more and more splintering of a group at the worst possible time; a saturation.
-
What Tad said, plus It isn't necessary to stop playing the previous game that they put time into is my thought process. HEY GUYS Jason just greenlighted Persona teams for this weekend! Can we get some excitement for that one?

@People wanting to play Tekken: I'm not trying to keep you from playing or trying to downplay you in any way, but Tekken is not an easy game to pick up. It is not an easy game to play. It is not an easy game to do well in. Even if you do well in other games. I mean this incredibly neutral, do not take this offensively: Anyone from MTNG that gets into Tekken, I completely have the expectation that you drop it in under a year. Maybe even six months. FlyMike from the SRK side of things says it pretty well in this post. Prove me wrong, i'd love it. Tekken is a fantastic game, just like all the other games out there (minus Shaq-Fu, but even that has a silly place in everyone's heart) but it's just.... oh how to say this.. it's not what it looks like when you watch it being played. Again, i'm not saying this aggressively, don't take it the wrong way. I want to be wrong. However, that brings me to a different point: I'm sick of this "I'm going to play something, be competitive, and probably even get legitimately good, but when this other game comes out, i'm gonna drop it so I can play that." and i'm sure a couple other people are, too. It just doesn't make sense to me to play something and have drive to achieve something to throw it away when the next gust of wind comes about. (not calling Volpe specifically out, he just reminded me of the general FGC that has this problem) Not having people to play in your area is one thing, but being subject to whimsy is another. @Bishop: I already talked to Marcus earlier, but i'll repost it: Pair Play side tournament is okay with Jason, but it's not an official thing. I'm not in charge of the first half of the day.

YO. KYLE. KING OF BLING TOURNAMENT. I dunno if anyone got a hold of you yet to inform, I know I've been busy, but I am eager to see you and your crew come down and play! We've got bonus prizes and STATE VERSUS STATE CREW BATTLES! Tinyurl.com/KingofBling Also, most of us are on 360, check the TN Gamertag list at the first post. Send me a thing, I have no idea how to play against Naoto.
-
I'm not playing Tekken. It's a great game, and its another one of thise games on the "i used to play this" list, but in addition to my time constraints, I feel like half the time im not interacting with the game. Tekken is also difficult. Can I ask how serious everyone that intends to get into it plans to take it?

Another corner oki setup building on the above: Sweep 5D and then tiger knee a Moonsault. Since Moonsault crescent slash crosses up in the corner, you can 5DD and catch them blocking the opposite way. If you crescent slash first(in the air), 5DD will be the cross up attack and launch them. Them being in the corner makes it really ambiguous. Haven't tested it against DPs or anything, yet.
