I haven't really made mention of it until now but it's important: Nearly every tournament uses PS3 units to run their games. If you are 360 controller only, as in you don't use a stick, I strongly recommend either migrating to a GOOD stick (Hori real arcade pro EX2, SF TE, or have one made by a stick modder such as Duckie) to practice on, getting a good, lagless converter, or buying a ps3 controller and practicing with it. It will cost you money. However, it will benefit you in the long run. I don't want to see any of you go through what Astaroth did in Final Round, nor do I want you to face what Star has to deal with every month. KO is the strongest man ever. He's picked up two people while one Falcon Knee's everybody, and held one person in one both arms while another's on his shoulders. There isn't anything or anyone KO can't pick up I my mind. We are on the second floor, but there aren't a lot of stairs. It's a flight of 16 and they're short-spaced.

Allow me to complain about Justin when I play versus games with him, especially fighters. First, we usually go even or I outclass him if he plays me at all. Then he practices for a little bit, does long labwork with combos and what he calls "figuring the character out" and outright refuses player matches. Then when he feels he is "good enough" to play he does so. I'm usually one of his first opponents ands usually beat him because I've done my own labwork and played against humans to find out what works and what's safe and what isn't. Then he decides he doesn't like the game anymore. I ask if it's because he's losing on his first plays match and he says no. I ask if it's because he thinks he should be doing better with a charcter(s) he doesn't have much experience with and he says no. He then says something about how he can't play the characters he wants or blames his characters being bad. Of he is absolutely sure that he's better than me, he'll try to degrade my play style by saying I'm mashing or similar to make t seem like I'm not skilled. It's ridiculous and annoying that he thinks he should always win, even against someone who has slightly more experience than he does and he is quitting a game because he lost 2 to 1 on his first real player match. And about his characters being bad, he plays Kyo, Kula, and Athena. I play about half the cast . He says all my characters are way better and have better, safer options and easy hit confirms. Does anyone else understand how ignorant this is? Gah, borderline scrub attitude about fighters, man.

Any venues will prolly close at 9 or 10 unless it's specifically a late night thing. You know... I could probably open up my apartment for you guys. Lemme ask the roomies, I doubt they'd care. Jackie has my thought process correct and to state again, no characters are going to be disallowed. I love how whenever someone says Billy Kane you say the last name too. Its mandatory and cracks me up.

As an afterthought, I will not be banning Billy Kane or Saiki from tournaments unless we(or the rest of the community) see that they it needs to happen. Given Raiden wasn't banned, and there are very few games that have actually banned a character, I don't think it will be an issue. My team changes all the time. As much as I like Duo Lon, I just can't get in with him like I do with everyone else. A sad day. Mature and Ash are still fun as ever, I like King, Kim, Benimaru, Saiki, and pretty much everyone else.

Alright, guys. It's December. Time to start seriously thinking about and discussing what we're going to do for 2012, starting with January. I definitely listen to the community and try to provide what the community wants. First: January's tournament. I know a lot of you want to go up to Kyle's shindig and I want you to, to spread the word of Middle Tennessee along with me. I'm probably going, just have to put in that off request. However, It may be tricky for me to get two Saturdays off in a row. The question is: are you wanting an MTN the following weekend, which is the last Saturday of the month? And if can only have one Saturday, which would you rather -me- do? Second: Venue. We never really reached a true solution. It looks like it's leaning towards MWC Room with the amount of setups and people that we can now guarantee. As a reminder, it would be MWC Room (Big, big room. Used to be a Casual Male store I think) for ten bucks and we provide all our own shiz. All of it. Power strips, TV's, Consoles, games. Or inside the arcade for five bucks and we have 5 stations that we need to provide consoles and games for. At this time i'd like to do a stock check of equipment: I have 3 to 5 TV's, (1) 360, (2) Ps3's, (1)BlazBlue CS 360, (1) KOF 13, (1) Wii, (1) Gamecube, (2) Melee. Asking for counts of Melee, Blazblue, KOF13, and UMVC3 Setups. In addition, any recording setups or other useful items. If someone has a 4G Broadband card or phone with unlimited data, for instance, we can stream.
