Soul Calibur 5, both me and Astaroth are big on the series I don't think anyone else has ever -really- played it. To describe the competition level... If Street Fighter is the young adult that gets the scholarships, and if BlazBlue is the preteen named after the Hip Uncle and gets all the sugary cereal, and if KOF is the foreign exchange student making good grades, and Tekken is the angsty 15-year old..... Then Soul Calibur is the pet goldfish that keeps jumping out of its bowl. I think that's actually accurate. Skullgirls... Ehh... My hype has kind of died down. I don't think it's going to be too popular with middle Tennessee, but maybe I'll be wrong.

Final Round is one of the major National fighting game tournaments in United States. It takes place in Georgia. Lots of hype and lots of strong competition.

He was there on 7th for the KOF tournament. He had just gotten back and he is great and rockin' out. I imagine he's still busy, being Tad, but yes he is back, intact, a baller, and still really good at video games.

Come on out to eat with us! @Final Round: Yes 200 would cover hotel, entry for four games, and divided travel charges. 160-190 would cover if we took the bus like Jackie has acquired. It's up to you guys whether we bus it or take our own vehicles, but you all need to come to a consensus. I have received no pms thus far about who is going to Final Round and has already registered. Do not wait until last minute, i cant do anything for arrangements until i get these pms, I may not be able to get us a hotel room if you do. In which case I'd be calling Sir Eshi and imposing on living space. What a gracious person he is.

Oh and here's the low-down on Mature pressure. I didn't try to fully explain it last night cause you were out of sorts. Whenever I do the kicks to slash, this is what I'm talking about. Mature's close B is two hits. First one is a low, second is mid. From this, you -must- block whatever I do next unless it's Despair(the flip slash move). Eveything is safe on block unless I do hit high with Despair. If i hit low with Despair its actually a frame trap. If I do Rekka(three hits, starts with a vertical arc) I'm put at a distance and you have time to do something like jump or hop out. If I do claw dash (quick horizontal slash) I'm actually at like -2 or something. From there I can do another close light kick or frame trap you if I think you're going to press a button with close C. You can DP both options and you have to be strict. Timing. Funny how I choose to use Mature's worst move from a frame data perspective as a tool to lock people down. Ha.

Gg's to Naimat, comin' over and practicing that KOF. We both like NESTS Kyo, but Kensou technology failed me! Mature is a monster. Billy Kane is a douchebag I need to figure out how to do stuff from far away.

I'm always interested in the particular orders moreso than the actual char choice itself. Ditto for everyone else. Also holy crap Astaroth last time I left that video it had 304 views. The "EX characters" are not automatically stronger than their counterparts. They're different. It's not even tha they're "EX", that's a fan nickname so people don't have to get tongue tied over NESTS Kyo and such. The DLC characters harken back to a previous character version like Papstr said and it's merely a different play style. NESTS Kyo loses a fireball and the ability to special cancel his 3D to gain some minimal guard point on his Rekka Starter and a leaping kick. His step kicks are less safe, but his DP gets marginally better, since it's designed to foil Crossups with TE ex version now. His command grab now becomes a hit grab and is no longer 1 frame. Can no longer air orochinagi Regular Kyo can air orochinagi to continue combos, has rdp kicks for extensions and a 1 frame ex command grab. Kyo is a very strong character. Claw Iori is regarded as one of the best characters in the entire game at high high level. Flame Iori is not. KOF 13's system didn't treat his older play style well and his Rekkas are not safe. His NeoMax is a grab, but Claw Iori's NM is still better. Still a decent character. Takuma is a beast and a very good anchor with an EX hit-anywhere fireball. His neo max doubles as an anti-air and it is the great equalizer. Mr. Karate's invisible force pushes are pretty awful but everything else about him is good. The extra characters are there to provide nostalgia for players that have stuck with the series and provide different playstyle options for players. They are not, by default, "better".

Oh I forgot to mention for my tournament on the 28th. Not only are we in the big room that was used in MWC, but we will be having a 3 on 3 tournament in King of Fighters 13. As in 3 players versus 3 players. Each of you control one character and it's up to you where to place yourself and your buddies in your team. Free entry, it's just for funsies. If its hype, we'll make it a regular occurrence.
