--Hopes and dreams of being a professional BB player crushed-- So even then, in the end its all about guessing whether or not she will feint. If she doesn't and you IB, Lambda=raped. If she does though and you don't call it you are hosed. This is why I will always suck at fighters. I cannot read my opponents worth diddly squat. Which makes mirror matches even more infuriating for me. Other Lambda players can read whether I TK or not all the time it seems while I on the other hand am not so lucky. Back to practice I suppose.

God this right here. I loved my JC for 5D. I dont mind the 2C nerf but I do wish our 5C startup time was the same. I can work around that though usually. Oh I agree for sure. Let me be more specific. I think what irks me the most about my characters mix-ups is just that. Its so situational, where as characters like Ragna and Bang can just throw out mix-ups left and right without almost any penalty for it (Bang moreso). I understand that if you were to give her a wide-array of mix-up options she would be appraoching Nu levels of ridiculousness again but I would have really liked to have something more than just "opponents in the corner, NOW you can finally mix-up."
-
Which somewhat makes me mad after how spoiled we were with Nu, but thems the brakes I guess. To me, like you said, since her mix-ups are so risky it almost makes her entire game nothing but zoning (which Nu had to do as well) and crescent cancels/loops. I like Lambda, I really do, but her game now is much more boring compared to Nu. My opinion at least, your mileage may vary.

From my experience with Tager vs Lambda so far there really isn't a whole lot of details to diverge. Every Tager player I have played I have won against. Granted, most if not all of them may be beginners or just randomly trying out his new features. For the most part though, CT strategy pretty much still seals the deal. Watch out for the timing on sledges and counter with swords and then AP into your standard wallbounce combos.
-
Perhaps this discussion would be better suited by making a Lambda vs Bang thread in the matchup section no? The later I believe. Not 100% sure.
-
Regardless prepare for an uphill battle. At least against decent/competent Bang players. You will find a lot of people doing the same shit over and over again with their Bangs just because they jumped on the bandwagon and have absolutely no clue how to play him.
-
Bang has the ungodly 6a. A beastly rushdown. Increased pokes and damage buffers on his moves in general. Nu vs Bang in CT was already one of his best matchups, and with the nerfs Nu received and the major buffs Bang got, the match is just completely one-sided most of the time. The biggest problem you are going to run into is his rushdown and close-range game. There isn't much Lambda can do from there so she has to play keepaway. Which is almost impossible against a good Bang player.

Just a quick suggestion but now that the game has officially hit retail stores in Japan (albeit a bit early) should we close this thread down and create a new "Gameplay Change Thread" for the CS Console Version. Its better then sifting through all these pages trying to figure out what has changed. I remember the patch is coming about 6 months down the line but I also know that the producers stated there was going to be some frame, damage, and minor character changes for the console release.

Yeah this is my problem right here is cancelling the TK saber is a pain for me since I am currently on Type B setup. Hrmmmm. I guess more practice is just in order. Maybe I should just completely change my stick setup to a custom type that works for me. But then I would have to start learning all over again. Granted we still have over 1 month to practice but still....

Here is a question for all you Lambda stick players. What button config/setup do you use? In the arcade version there are 2 styles to pick from where you can essentially have the "Neo Geo" setup of A,B,C,D. Or you can do the reverse setup of D,A,B,C. Which one do you use? Or do you have your own custom setup? I have been going back and forth for me to try out what I like more. I think I like the latter option more just because Lambda/Nu relies on her swords so much. However, I also like the first one because it is easier for me to setup her 214D/C and 236D/C moves. Opinions?

I am not sure what to think on the Guard Primer system. I definitely like it much more then CT's Guard Libra but at the same time it bothers me with what kenja0 said as well. Why do the characters with the most HP have the most guard libras. Tager is justified against Lambda but what about going against other players? Hakumen & Jin also IMO have too much health and/or too many guard primers. Hell, our "main protag" of the series is tied for 3rd for lowest health even though he can regain some. I dunno it just feels a little off. Maybe once I play some more I wont mind.

Ever since BB was created and the first arcade version released where Nu wasn't selectable I always wanted to try her because her playstyle and design just screamed awesome to me. However for the longest time I thought she wasn't going to be playable even when the console versions hit so I decided on Noel since she looked interesting and fun. However, once the console version came out and Nu was confirmed I was ecstatic as you might guess. And the rest is history. Naturally now no one will play me on-line because they think I choose the character for an easy win. Le sigh.

Mother of God I hope not. I thought it was exactly what you stated. Also how much life does Lambda have? 10000? If so thats not exactly a paperweight. Thats what she had in CT right?
-
This right here. While people say her air-throw does way too much damage, you cannot do anything afterwards unless you RC out of it. However, assuming you do you can set up for a pretty nice combo and damage. Assuming you dont screw up:keke: Also, Parser-C is only a -4 on block? Crazy. I figured it would most definitly be more punishable. Also.....Lambda being A-tier if it wasnt for Bang and Litchi? I think you can say that about almost every mid-tier character. Litchi isn't so bad if you can keep her on a leash but IMO Bang is just way too broken in this game. As said by St1ckBug: Lambda got the nerf bat Rachel got the nerf truck Hakumen got a demonic blessing Litchi got God's blessing Bang got Chuck Norris' blessing
-
No offense bro but thats not saying much. She went from one of the highest damage dealers in the game to barely beating out 2 of the worse damage dealing characters in the sequel.
-
Persistence, diligence, hard work, and a desire to win. What else is there?
-
I was a Jam regular until I moved onto Axl and Venom. She became my tertiary choice. When BB first came out I figured Litchi would be a lot like Jam. And in a few ways she is, but not for my tastes. Then I found Nu and Noel and fell in love. Although I play a lot more Ragna nowadays.
-
Okay that makes more sense. With the tournaments and such upcoming I can see why they would wait at least 6 months.

The problem I have seen with this matchup so far in all the videos I've watched is just how much trouble Lambda players are having now because of all the new stuff Hakumen got, while at the same time all the nerfs Lambda (Nu) received. To me in CT it was all about zoning like with Tager, and even now it still is too some extent. Throw out the swords and try to keep him mixed up so he doesn't get a jump on you or near you. Problem is once he is close Lambda's game just goes all to hell. Gravity-field has a recharge time now so if you whiff that you are screwed. Her 6A is the only quick safe poke she has available. And her teleport is pretty much non-existent. Not too mention Hakumen has plenty of ways of breaking your guard-primer. I think what could definitely help in this thread is listing viable ways to deal with Hakumen once he is up in your face. We all know what we can do to keep him away. Its playing in melee mode that is difficult.
-
If Lambda's Act-parser moves are generally useless with the exception of getting a combo started, what is Lambda's real BnB this time around? You can only go so far with standard punches and kicks. I have been out of the country on business for awhile and it just seems to me if one her staple moves is quite easy to block and counter Lambda players are going to have a very tough time down the line.
-
I think we all would love it if it makes the game better. The question remains though exactly WHAT they are changing/balancing. We need a list. Unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to wait until July 1st to get our hands on the JP version because I havent seen any updated news posts about BB:CS console information.
-
None of her D moves are j.c. now? Good god Arc. I love my character to death still but its starting to get a little out of hand. Nothing compares to taking away my crescent saber though. I want that back more than anything.
-
Hrmmm hopefully more players will show up to test over the weekend because I want constant updates to my character lol. Hopefully we can get some more info before the 4th loc test or it is going to make for a very boring next couple of weeks.
-
If you are talking about a patch that perhaps grants him an extra frame of guard/invincability or something I could agree. If you are talking about changing nu and tager so that they are constantly 5:5 then I would have to say no way. There are always going to be nasty/uneven matchups in fighting games, and this just happens to be one of them. Whatever, time will tell I suppose but I believe both the producers stated they would not be tweaking this game like they did the GG series. Guess we will see after EVO
-
Okay I got it I didn't know hp bars were distributed that way, even so, 2 whiffs from nu = death by a good tager player.
