  2. Congrats Zong! He was very good at blocking the Rhapsody stuff which got me thinking. Rhapsody reset, 9, kara glide backwards, vivace This would make them change their direction on block 3 times relatively quick I think. Might have to try this out myself and see how it works.

  4. For sure, but I also like to do a lot of stuff like... CON....5B, Volante, 5A, 2A, 5B, 22]D[, IAD, J.2C or CON....5B, 6D, 6C, 5A, 2A, 5B, 22]D[, IAD, J.2C Which in this case a normal jump would leave them in sandwich without 22]D[.
  5. Thanks, I'll try those out. I was also thinking of just doing 5B, normal jump cancel, they mash D, then CH JB or JC. Been meaning to try it out, but I always forget as 5B, IAD, J.2C is now engraved into my system.

  8. Thanks, this worked for me. I even managed to pull it off in a match after little practice. My only concern is how much damage I'm missing out on. What I'm using now is... ...3C, 22]D[, 5C, JB, JC, 8]D[, J.2C, JC, 2]D[, J.2C, J.214C, 8]D[
  9. Finally got a chance to sit down and try out some of those corner combos. Got a couple of em on lock now, thx Kyle! EDIT: On the topic of corner combos, I need some help with one. I thought this one would come to me by now, but it's not happening. I'm struggling with corner....3C, 22]D[, J.2C, Alle~can, 5C, JB, J.214C, 8]D[, etc. I'm having trouble moving Ada into position for the 8]D[ and as a result I'm getting Anima instead of 8]D[. After the 5C I immediately start holding for 6 to move Ada into position. So when I get to J.214C, I think I'm starting the input from 6 so it looks like, 632147. So I understand why I'm getting Anima, is it just as simple as returning to neutral before I start the J.214C, because I can't seem to get that through my head. Just wondering if any has any tips to make this combo easier.

  11. Just to add a little to the learning Carl's more damaging loops. I just started playing Carl about a month and a half ago. There are so many different variations to the 2D loops that it seemed really overwhelming at first. So what I did was learn the simplest variation to the 2D loop and I left it alone for awhile and focused on learning resets and mixups. While in training mode resets n mixups were my main priority and towards the end of my sessions I would try some more advanced combos, but spend very little time on them. Low and behold, literally last weekend at the end of a training session I thought I would try out 5C, Volante, and something just clicked. I couldn't believe it and I ended up in training for about an hour longer, lol. I guess what I'm trying is if you really wanna learn his 2D loops and you don't have great execution like me. Learn the easiest 2D loop and then just let the other stuff come naturally. I think it was just a combination of patience while building up my execution with other Carl stuff. Most importantly, don't give up!
  12. Ya, I hear you about FFXIII. Props to you for finishing it, I couldn't. Ya, I agree LO starts out slow, but it will pickup. The storyline is one of the best in any RPG I have ever played, but I'm not hardcore into that genre so your opinion my vary if you are. I've played my fair share though. Multiple FF's, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, and Crono Trigger.

  13. They mean "fuoco" 41236 ]D[. The move where Nirvana slides forward with her hand extended. Before you could interrupt Nirvana, now it comes out no matter what. Also, ya with the height increase J.2C, 2]D[, JC, is probably not gonna work if that change sticks. Edit: damn grammar, working a 12 hour shift at one job then an 8 hour shift at another makes for a long day.

  15. I'm trying to wrap my head around this 8D 2 primers thing. I thought you couldn't break primers when someone was barrier blocking. Is there another move currently in the game that does this? Also ya, as if 3C wasn't enough they take away J.2C. I think they're trying to see how Carl does without his big dmg. Also with the 3D oki, they might just be trying to make him a strictly reset character. Although, we still have 5C, Volante for loops if we manage to get them in the air without 3C. Guess I better finally start learning the Volante loop, lol. Always remember though, these changes aren't final. Here's hoping for no changes other than adding 3D oki. XD December's gonna be a loooong wait.

  17. No malice intended, but I thought I made that clear in my post. Sorry if I didn't. I meant low proration in the fact that you would probably have time to dash in 3C, J.2C for the lowest(I think) prorated combo possible. Edit: Aww crap, I forgot about 3C
  18. Thinking out loud here. First off, I have never been good a blocking a burst. For some reason whether people just make bad bursts against Carl or what, but I'm constantly blocking bursts in NOC now. I even notice it in Jap vids. Well, with the new primer system and no more proration on guard breaks, we will have a list of characters with 2 primers after a burst. So, NOC bait burst immediate Fermata into a nicely low prorated combo. Not earth shattering or anything but still might come in handy.
  19. Not sure if this is common knowledge or not. Just noticed in a vid that if Litchi is combing you in the corner and you have Nirvana with you and a burst you get a free combo. Starts with burst, 8D as demonstrated in this vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOclgWKyNKY#t=0m18s

  22. Nice, I'm lovin this stuff. Most the people in my area have tall hit boxes, so I won't have to worry too much. Except for the 4 Bangs.....
  23. What do you guys think about stuff like...... 5A, 2A, 5B, 6B, 6D, 5A, 5B, 6B, combo ends, JB, 3D, JC, JB....stuff. 5A, 2A, 5B, 6B, 6D, 5A, 5B, 6B, combo ends, JB, 4D, jump to other side, B vivace, combo. Anyone use strings like this? EDIT: There's also an UB in there with, JB, JC, 2D, JB, 2B.

Looks so awesome though.
  25. For the timing of the 3D, late air dash rest. Is it 2B, 5C, ]3D[.......or 2B, ]3D[, 5C? I've been doing the latter, I think maybe I've been doing the 3]D[ to early.
