Uh... actually... not at all. They're doing her new air iris combos and they're doing her mixups with 4B which is not safe on block but pretty much all Rachel has. Even something simple as getting out George seems to be tough because Rachel so far can't defend. 5a spam while bad, is viable in some instances. So I can't say I blame them. Better than me trying to constantly fish for that fork CH on sledge.

Actually, I dunno. But... uh... the four wind version is useful because that King George does a delayed hit. Doesn't do shit for damage, but catches people off guard from what I've seen. Though that's only going to work until people get used to it.

Oops. Apparently, I can't read. But... does anyone know how TD does in combos? As a random it doesn't seem that good because it's actually pretty slow and easy to block (who wouldn't block the moment they saw a super flash and a GIANT GII).

I saw a gothic lolita with a cat umbrella that could not only uppercut people, but it was buff and had an eye patch. That's how I decided on playing Rachel. CS I'll probably be playing Carl, Arakune, or Hazama in place of Rachel and wait for her to get better in the next game.

If possible, mess with the 5CC wall bounce. I'm still trying to figure out if it's going to be something really major for Rachel or if it's just not really enough to help.

:X You guys can take me too. Just pick me up with Tari. I need an excuse to skip work (it's not like I can get fired even if I wanted to be). But it's good that she has some oki options. I just want to see how bad her match up chart is. Then I'll decide for sure if I'm gonna keep her or just wait for the next game. Two 6.5s don't make me happy though.

From what I heard about GG it was a massive trial and error that they finally sorta got right in AC+. But... I dunno. I don't really know of any company that doesn't accidentally make a stupid or unplayable character.

Not like it'll matter. No one's going to play Rachel in CS anyway. We can just wait a year like Tager and Hakumen for the next game.

Once again- drunken darts. Also, adding 6C 8D after BBL won't do anything even if 6C still has the damage buff from the loketest (which I'm doubting) just because of proration in general. The way I used it, it took relatively few hits to get BBL to hit which is why 6C still did a decent amount of damage. Even then, that combo is really no good unless you're sure 1) they're going to die 2) they're not going to burst and make you waste one wind for your effort. Maybe if you can catch them in the air throw that's some damage, but I can't imagine that working more than once on the same person. *reads Rachel's match up against Hakumen* ...

I've seen BBL outside of combos do about that much (even with all six hits). So I'm guessing that's the minimal damage. AKA- BBL went from being one of the (if not the best) DDs in the game to full of meh. On that note, it seems that overall the damage for DDs seems awfully low compared to CT Though I remember seeing one or two videos where Bang's Daifunkan did crazy damage along with Taokaka's pounce distortion. However, it could be due to the sheer number of videos that I've been watching this week at 1-4am so at this point I could just be imagining shit. I think I actually had a dream where Rachel's j2C connected to 2B again and I was like- Yesss! Until I realized that I was sleeping.

I'm still waiting to see a video of Shadow play Rachel. I could possibly be waiting a very long time. Maybe if her damage output was a little higher (like she could consistantly break 3k) and her zoning wasn't as mangled, she'd be all right. Not good, but tourney viable. However, with the proration of all her attacks, the first factor changing is very slim. And considering how far they went out of their way to destroy her zoning, the second's not looking likely either. Uh... I haven't played GG outside of GGXX. But has there been any case from an ASW game where a good character got nerfed to hell, but panned out to mid-tier in later editions? I'm just hoping that she's not going to become another Johnny (even with relatively no GG experience, I've heard of the sad tale that is Johnny).

Well, Tari. If we can't put our heads together with wuku to think of something, at least we'll have fun trying to figure out subs in case it doesn't work out. And... no matter how hard I try to like Tsubaki, I just can't seem to. Hazama and Carl have a lot more appeal for me (though Carl more since I do less poke damage and running away and more high damage mixups which is actually what I liked a lot about BBCT).

It's also pretty funny seeing that Japanese matches are first to three instead of two. Bursting without a reeeeally good reason = bad idea bear. It'd actually be a good thing for her if it was CT Rachel. Then people can't burst corner 2-3 rod BBL set ups. Too bad those don't really exist (or do nearly as much damage) in CS. ryoko- If possible can you quote or translate a few of the top players for Rachel's impression of her?

I hate it when I'm right. On that note- since the system for bursting is now two bursts per match period. I really wonder how that's going to pan out for Rachel (though probably badly). It's not my fault that I'm hoping that it'll be somehow useful to her. ._.;

I should stop reading up information on Rachel. Every time I always hear bad news. Her match up against Tager is (Rachel) 3.5 to (Tager) 6.5. Apparently, he owns Rachel's sub-par zoning pretty well. Guess that's one thing I'll be looking at to see if I can fix.

As soon as the person in our area gets CS, I'll raid his house and look for something to make Rachel playable. She probably won't ever move from bottom tier (she's worse off than CT Tager as CT Tager actually had decent damage, just his defense sucked) but I'd like to see something that'll make her able to compete.

Haha. I love to see broken stuff already popping up in this game like Hakumen's 9k damage combos and Taokaka now having a taunt loop that she can rep 11 times for 7k damage. Overall I'm a little surprised to see that Noel moved up and Tsubaki moved down. I thought she was doing better than Hazama. But if Taokaka has a loop that she can rep 11 times, Rachel better have a massive 5CC wall bounce loop. *cheers for Japan to make it happen*

In general it's weird that her B moves prorate more than her jabs. Overall, it doesn't look like she has any safe mix up block strings (or really much of a mix up at all). From what I've heard j3db isn't really good anymore as it'll whiff on some characters. I remember reading somewhere that they changed the hitbox for it. So when people tried to use it to replace jA they failed pretty hardcore.

Is it the first or second hit of 5C that breaks primer? If it's the second, then it's really not safe on block. And 4B is slow as hell. But yeah, Rachel's main problem with guard breaking is she has a hard time keeping up pressure. As mentioned, primers regenerate pretty fast once you get out of pressure. :X Plus guard crushing now is hella gimmicky because guard crush combos prorate like hell (with Rachel already prorating to hell, this doesn't really help her). Fatal Counters looks like something more useful as Rachel can somewhat counter with 5CC. 4B? Lol. I've not once seen a match in CT or CS where that CHed. j2C can combo on CH and also counts as a fatal counter, but once again good luck getting that to CH as pretty much any anti-air can take it out and it's not safe on block (so don't use it unless you're sure to get a hit). Moogster- I'm not even sure how that'd work and that doesn't even sound like a legitimate blockstring. I don't see why you'd continue a block string after 3C on block, and even if it hits, 3C and lobelia don't combo.

Is that on regular hit or on CH? But with 3C9D, in that case the number of hits might be specific per character. Or if you're testing on Jin and Hakumen, it can combo without wind, so you might be doing that instead.
