anyone try this? 632146C, 623A, 214A, 66, 5A, sj.B, j.2A, ad, j.B, j.2A, j.C (would it work with j.2A, ad, j.B, j.A, V, 2C, etc. ender?) I know 632146C, 623A, 2C, j.2A, j.2C,V, 2C, j.2A, ad, j.2A, j.C, V, 5C, 3C works in corner, but I haven't gotten time to try this one. seems to work with 5C and 6C, not sure about 4C

haven't been on for a while because of several things, but i just wanted to congratulate Spark for taking EVO2011. Amazing, man.

It's probably because Hazama still has higher priority, too. In a normal jab fest Hakumen will lose out overall, and once hazama gets in, it's kind of hard to get out of that pressure until reset, and that's only if he doesn't get corner oki. I wouldn't say it's that much harder, though; it's easier for Hakumen to lock Hazama down now since snakes regen got nerfed and specials lose out more often as long as you get the timing. It's just that it's easier for both sides to get pummeled immediately now instead of infinite snake-and-balls showdowns.

might be useful to note which hotaru combos need landing, and which ones you go straight into it. For example, don't you need to land for j.214B > IAD j.C > 214A > etc.? edit: I see, thanks for informing!
-
But I can't just hold down on 2C>j.2A , so I have to do some weird 2529 motion, 219 is a little flaky on my controller. Also, isn't 2.B>2.A>5.A>5.B ground string too? I guess the 2.B isn't that big of an addition.

Padfag qq. I still haven't learned how to do that consistently; quite sure it's the pad's fault, since I can do it fine on the stick.
-
Can you kishuu twice fast enough to not black beat with 2A or 2B? mAc Chaos: that's why I'm asking!
-
It looks like it will be very easy to use, I approve of this! That first round combo was cool
-
don't separate it into midscreen/corner. Instead, put a note in each combo saying if it's applicable midscreen, corner, or anywhere. Less clutter.
-
huh, that was a weird follow for normal hotaru (second video 8:49)

new showboat finish confirmed

6C into 6C into 6C into shippuu bnb there. Isn't the bigger problem the wall bind though? Kind of hard to repeat 6C even in corner, right?
-
but my eyesore was the constant j.C's, not 4C. Since airgame is weird now and j.C's hitbox is lol-one-pixel-tall I'd like to think people won't spam it all the time...even against tager I've noticed less j.Cs and more ground stuff. which is good, right? right?
-
Yeah...no more j.C fencing matches would be nice.
-
don't mind about it, I know what it looks like, I just wanted to know if there was some property.
-
I'm going to have to learn to stop doing j.D, too. Do you actually have disadvantage afterwards, or is it equal?
-
That's just a difference of playstyle, not capability, though. I mean, I use zanshin a lot.
-
doesn't drive gets you 1 star? You're thinking of the air cancel combo, I think. 6A>5A>6A>j.A>j.B>etc.
-
well, there's always mugen boost, right :V
-
the difference is that you gain stars so much easier now, though, don't you think? If you get corner pressure (which Hakumen can kind of do better now) stars will be easy to get, right? Also, only 2D goes into >2C>j.2A>66j.2A, I think, 5D needs a 2C>gurren>2C if you want to get to the second j.2A. And I agree, I haven't used Shippu seriously since CT, it's just not worth it.
-
I feel CS2 has a more morphic play sense than CS1 in that it's not as bad to splurge stars after counters; the damge for 5D>2C>214A>2C>j.2A>etc is actually not that bad, and if you use hotaru after that instead of j.2A you'll most definitely get corner, which you can reset or continue. Even despite the proation I think it's still worth (especially since you gain one star back). There's a bigger emphasis for Hakumen to send the opponent into the corner, so if you can't get into 6C otherwise, find other moves that do...is probably what you should do.
-
seems like it doesn't work with gurren, though; I don't think that black beat was just him dropping it.
-
holy crap that hakumen (kakyuu?names are too blurry), burst counter reads everywhere. He has really good sense and flow, but there are some really random/mysterious moves, like 6C right in front of an enemy. Also, that double yukikaze against litchi was ridiculous; it's just, I don't think I've seen anyone do that in a match.
-
I see, that does sound cleaner.
