  1. dem smoke detectors sense everything but smoke. Really, since my friend burned down his cup in my microwave once and it didn't sound at all. Also, since I have been forced to go, I will be raging a lot. Bring earplugs.
  2. Man, you guys are so demanding. Where's the peace & love? Also, hookers, do you know how much fun you can have with hookers? TONS. for eight bucks. Hookers. But yeah, I preregistered. Sucker for peer pressure.
  3. $8 is like, a lot for me, if I haven't mentioned that already. I can fill myself up, with food. and probably buy a hooker or two, and still have change. I don't know, maybe? Look, it really comes down to what he raffle prize is. I'm just curious about it and I ain't backing down from this horse until I know. Disregard whether I want to join the tournament or not, I will not join unless I know the raffle prize. Will that be alright? Nothing to do with how I feel about tournaments, I'm just being a greedy prick.
  4. I just don't think fighting games are that important in my life. I'm sorry I'm a thorn in everyone's group D: (excuse) besides, if I happen to the last spot, what will happen to someone else who wants to play more? (excuse). Hey, don't worry about it, I'll make sure to at least hype things up, watching isn't so bad, too, you know, sometimes you learn more by watching. edit: oh lol intelligent high ground, stop taking potshots. I don't think I was being negative about it, if you didn't notice I was just trying to pry at what the raffle prize is. I wasn't planning on playing in the first place because watching is more fun and educational for me, but if the prize is great, I'll at least pre-register for it. Take it a notch down, man...or not, I'm just not bearing that competitive attitude, and I apologize for that. I'm still pretty much a newb to the local scene (just as newb as the local scene is for tournaments, though), and I just think watching right now is good enough (unless there's a great incentive to brave it). That's it. I'm sorry for making you riled up about it. I'm not saying that I'm afraid of losing, I just don't see things on the same level as you, sorry.
  5. @TaoFTW: Cool and acknowledged. Also, cool, skullgirls is going to be there? @Copperdabbit: Ah, I read that, it was really encouraging, but well, I guess my competitive drive is slightly different. As long as I have fun I don't mind losing; doesn't mean I like it, though. Which in turn means I'd rather not pay to lose; winning doesn't matter to me as long as I can see someone great playing, but as long as I have to pay to even play at the tournament, I want to derive the most enjoyment out of it. That's all. (I didn't know that was the first tournament you won, I think I watched videos of it, and you were playing like a battle harden veteran. That's pretty amazing) Besides, chipotle burritos are like...6 dollars. Man. Like, they fill me up.
  6. You're a convincing man, but wary as I am, I cannot present my smelly green papers without definite knowledge of what I'm getting into (looked it up, can't find it), after all, I don't want to win weed. Or coke. Or hookers. Or hairy burly men. That said, I don't think I suck at everything, I'm merely presenting a logic assessment and hypothesis of what will happen. It's being logical about what enemies you can take and what you can't. Being tactical, per say, which you cannot deny is essential even in a pastime such as moving hard sticks around while rapidly tapping protruding objects to cause screams and flashes and what not. either way, I'm volunteering.
  7. Oh hey, volunteer positions, if they're still open, hit me up, cause I don't want to spend eight dollars to watch myself lose, but just going to watch is kind of...meh (well, unless your raffle prize is orgasmic, is it? is it? :D)
  8. :V but that stick is so huuuuuuge, tiny fingers can wrap around it. So there's no casuals? Damn. @ganex: there are some really "deserted" streets like Milvia and Bancroft that intersect Shattuck with many parking spaces. I can't vouch for their security, though, not sure how good public safety is there, but I can't imagine they're that bad when it's not even a street away from a main street.
  9. It might be a bit difficult, but try to hit Bang a bit 'late' (The timing after 2D is tight, but try to hit him as low as possible, makes the j.B connect easier more often); though even if I say that, there's really not that much time, right? Are you buffering the dash during 2D fast enough? (er...not buffer..dash cancel, I think) Thanks, Aeonphreak, I'll practice. one more question: That's a whole lot of damage for a 3-star, corner or not. Is it right? Also, how hard is the transition from j.C>214A?
  10. From the CT combo thread and SolBadass. Basically, you need to take the visual or audio cues in the game to tell you when you have to execute j.2C after 623AA. the main reason why the 2C after j.2C doesn't combo is because your j.2C was not hitting at a good enough height. Try to follow the cues SolBadass gave; they really help improve your timing.
  11. @simplekiss: I try using 663214, but it rarely executes; either I'm doing it too slow, or the 3's doing something to it. Any tips on the command? edit: Alright, I'll try that out. Thanks!
  12. It's about a second; use anything like a beat or click should suffice if you're trying to figure out the timing between holding 2 and pressing 8D. It actually comes out pretty quick, and you could always hold down while idling.
  13. For this combo, what's the timing for 5C such that 2C combos? I noticed that with hop Hotaru there's a higher rate of hitting it, is TK Hotaru just too high or something?
  14. Is it? I never used Hakumen's hop back in CT (Yeah...), so I never noticed that. On the other stuff, though, like j.2C > 2C > j.2A, I feel that the timing is a lot slacker. There are some weird pauses where I cannot buffer, though, like with 3C > 214B, and the one you mentioned, though both just requires you to press as soon as you see Hakumen return to neutral, so yeah, probably just takes time to get used to.
  15. @entnervt: if you took out BC, would there be enough distance to do it? Also, probably not right at the wall either. Actually, don't mind about it, it's not that important unless you're doing the wall loop anyways, I'll try it out when I get to play again. On the other hand, Air BC > falling C or B is basically the same as J.D, they both can set up into 2C on ground; that's why I asked if it's actually plausible to interchange the two.
  16. @entnervt: It's just a modified version of corner loop ender with weird distancing. There's variations of it in combos that are in videos. After Renka Hakumen moves out a little bit so you use that space to do j.C or sj.C, depending. I'm quite sure it works, since it's basically the same thing as some of the other combos; by using forward momentum to keep to the wall after j.C so that you can do a j.2A into j.C. Tell me if it doesn't, though. Thanks, don't overwork yourself, haha. To be honest, though, it would probably be better to just use it in the real loop by going from renka > (most of corner loop 2C > j.2A > falling2C > 2C) > j.C > j.2A > j.C; not sure if you can land a 214A after, but I think you don't even need it and can just go straight into 5C > 3C. But since mac Chaos wasn't using that combo and asked if it could be extended, I just mentioned that. It's not really that "optimal", though, since the corner loop is really just as easier and takes less stars, plus more damage (not compared to the normal corner loop ender; i think this one is slightly less damaging, or slightly more, I forgot which). 5k, if I remember right. Damn, I really shouldn't have returned the PS3.
  17. Is it possible to replace j.BC with j.D? I returned the borrowed PS3 so I can't test it out right now (geeze, you guys upload a ton of combos the day I do that; really want to practice Spark's 1 star combos; I noticed that early game I have to poke a lot and wait for stars, and I don't particularly like that), but I get the feeling they're practically interchangeable; less or more damage? you can go straight back into corner loop after sj.2A, no? Alternately, I think you can do Renka > 2C > j.C > j.2A > j.C > Gurren with an extra hit.
  18. That's what I thought, but 6C doesn't hit enemies on the ground, at least not so far I've tried. That's why I'm wondering if it's character specific. I did try it on Rachel, though. Maybe my timing's just bad.
  19. On that subject, can someone explain when 6C launches (same launch as a gold burst)? I'm not quite sure when it works, or if it is character specific.
  20. As, going for all the new characters, I see. Makoto's not even out yet, so can't say anything about that. I personally don't see Tsubaki as that weak, but everyone else does, so meh. Lambda can get pretty frustrating to play, I think; at least that was my friend's experience. But well, it's not like you're marrying someone, choices are there, alright. Hope you find someone you like to use. Sure, I'll subscribe, looking forward to your matches. Haha..all I remember about Rachel in CT was that Hakumen has to play the Tager game with her.

  21. Moving on, as in from Rachel (really good, by the way, nice yomi's, though combo drops? I don't quite remember how CT Rachel works anymore)? You never know, though, rebalance is coming out 6 months into release, that might make her better again? Well, it's all preference, anyways. Ragna's amazing in CS so maybe you should stick with him, too. Man, I miss the pacing in CT. I like what Arksysworks did with CS, but really, the pacing in CT is just so much more...exciting. You don't see it when you're playing yourself, though, so no biggie. I kept imaging Berial Edge while watching CT Ragna. Really out of touch with it now...wonder how I'll do now, haha.

  22. Well, I can see 6C being use for Oki, but it certainly is less of a counter hit yomi now. It just feels weird to use because the pacing of the game's changed a lot.
  23. It's sort of annoying when I have to defend myself for such a ridiculous reason based on people not really taking the time to read, especially with uninvolved people adding oil to the fire; I apologized to Kurushii, and that's it. I didn't intent on making anyone dwell on it, so I'm done with posting in the general's section about this. I just don't like your attitude, that's why I need to tell you this: First, if it's not directed at anyone, don't reference them in your post or make a comment about their posts. Second, there's no need for you to whine about your own experience when you're not involved. Learn some street manners. Third, learn to at least address everything; if you start something that says "enjoy these videos because you never will get to that level anyways" THEN AT THE VERY LEAST find some counter to what I said, otherwise, don't sprout shit like that, especially not in Dustloop. Fourth, stop whining, you'll grow old faster. It's from experience.

  24. without 6a, you have to do a lot more thinking, but it also means you can go both ground or air, so I actually like it better because it's more fun than just [see IAD]->6a->c->etc. It's not that big of a deal either since you still have other options, just not broken ones. j.c is fun, and it's really up to you if you want to spam it the whole match or not, because I can see it as really annoying, but it's also actually really useful. The way I see it, Hakumen was not very good at getting himself into good situations, now j.c just makes sure that when things don't look like they're going his way, he doesn't have to deal with it. Other times, you just go all out with whatever you have. You aren't forced it j.c spam, but you certainly can do it with little risk, as long as you're aware of what you should do when you hit ground. I like CS Hakumen, it's more fun.
