Hitting opponent with a coin causes all slaps to be flaming for the rest of the round. Well, that's better than it was before. The fact that the coins bounce off the ground now should also make it easier to hit.
Faust has a 5F punch now. Hooray. Now he can make feeble attempts to mash P on wakeup like... oh wait, it's still 5F. Maybe it'll make juggles or links from j.2K easier? His pokes are buffed, but the vulnerable areas have been increased to compensate. I think I'd almost be happier with the existing ones being faster rather than longer. But then again, there are things like the nerf to forward EXE Beast, which alone could be huge in making the matchup with Testament suck less. Longer ranged pokes + nerfs to some opponent poking tools = win? I don't know what the probabilities on the items are now, because the introduction of new items could significantly change things. Still, against rushdown characters the food items are still huge
44 while on pogo has longer untech time, so I guess it'll deal with the problem of hitting people with it and then them hitting you immediately back afterwards. A few of his chibis fall faster now, so they'll deny parts of the screen faster.
I'm still concerned that Faust is getting left in the dust. He's always sort of relied on some fundamentals to get by with a few relatively low return gimmicks, and it felt like everyone else got a big lead on him in the arms race in AC. Some of that stuff is now getting nerfed down, but it feels funny that what looks like a crazy character has to rely less on gimmicks and more on solid play plus good reads to win. I remember the last time RF put out a matchup list, Faust was disadvantaged against most of the rushdown characters, and Millia was rated as "Impossible".
