Agreed. This is one big "Sit the fuck down" technique. Usually after a few of these the opponent will stop trying to do anything after a blocked butterfly. Unfortunately it's not a lot of damage, and a good opponent knows not to move in that situation and will wait after butterflies to see if you do 6S or if you run in. During your run in they can input something before the butterfly followup. This is where FD braking comes in all smooth and handy like to bait for get out of butterfly options. You can get a lot of damage from this mindgame and luckily most all anji combos end in a nice knockdown. Hooray! After you build this mind game then you can have a lot of the fun times with stuff like 3P and respect cancels. I suggest you guys watch these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YPZ6NmXRcs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjSOMn1AH1Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34lBCvsvmPQ Limekey has some amazing butterfly setups. A lot of IAD stuff and sj stuff using jd to stop momentum, and falling slash or landing then throwing a low. Limekey is so pro.

SHHHHIT! Phil we need to play t6! Who you playing?
-
Yeah there's a few of us playing it now. I like how the combo system works in 6, and the game just looked to good not to play. I'm not sure I will be any competition as this is my first tekken and the first 3d fighter I've played, but I'm reading a lot about the game and trying to learn as much as possible. I just know you Memphis guys are a tight crew for tekken so it will be good to learn some from you guys. General man, haven't seen your ass in forever. Hope you gettin into some crazy shit. These last times we've been in TN there's been no one around with a giant box of snacks or a bitchin testament.
-
Damn what up Memphis. Heard you guys play tekken 6. Word. Just started playing tekken when 6 came out but excited to play you guys next time we run into each other cause I know you guys are real fucking good at tekken. Hope to learn something from you.

I'll see if I can round up the KY/OH crew when the time comes but odds are we'll be there in my birfday van. NO DUMB CUNTS ALLOWED IN THE B-DAY VAN! -
That anime was all kinds of awesome. Just need more Mouri. Needed more metal rings and unblockable green shit on the ground.

[CT] Carl Clover Tactical Discussion/Questions/Help
TheSlyMoogle replied to Alternate275's topic in Archive
For the record I don't give a shit about Carl. So I was unlocking all the characters astral heats today, because I was fucking bored. The Situation: I was playing as Noel. I had the game in arcade mode, the computer was set to Beginner. What Happened: Computer Carl activated Nivana's throw animation while I was activating 6C with Noel. Nirvana threw me and I got the big X that means no break for me. Anyway then at the same time she grabbed me, Carl hit me with 5a. It knocked me out of Nirvana's hands and Nirvana stayed there frozen. I didn't see this posted anywhere so figured I would post it now. I was unable to recreate it again in Training mode, so don't know what happened really, but Nirvana stayed frozen for the rest of the round. -
To uh help this argument out, if you do 5c 6c 66 5c sjc j.c j.d you can airdash and continue combo from freeze. It's legit on most characters and of course you have to start this combo from crouching or a counterhit.
-
Ok... Step 1: Stop using the Sekkajin. Or c mash whatever. It's not good. I don't know how tager can punish you for it, but believe he could probably a 360 you for a lot of damage. Jin gets a free 5c 6c. Step 2: Please remember that you can only freeze the opponent once in a combo unless you spend tension (example you did 6c 2d at one point after you had frozen tager.) Step 3: I suggest watching some match videos from players like Buppa. They will teach you combos. You had a lot of opportunity to bust out combos that would have been sick. Step 4: I'm by no means the authority on Jin or anything, so if you don't want to listen to me it's cool. I'm actually kind of scrubby even though I've been playing since arcade release. Step 5: Don't get used to having the throw, running throw again setup work. It's just kinda hard to break throws online as opposed to real life. There's not much lag, but just enough.
-
Uhms. Is there any way to turn off that fucking song? It was cool the first 10 times... but... seriously?
-
I would say yeah. He's quick and does a lot of damage with his combos. That alone gives him a slight advantage over a lot of the cast vs nu. Still she's a whore, fuck that whore.

Uhm... Is Jin Gay? -
Uhm... Depends on your midscreen position. I'll post up more later, and sorry for slacking guys but I had to move out of my place like ASAP and haven't gotten everything straightened out in my new place.

You did steal your car. You wanted the insurance money. Matlock already proved that.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6607810 This video shows that obviously there is no way litchi can win in this fight. As we can see Litchi has nothing in this fight. I mean if this video isn't good enough I heard that a jin player beat the shit out of a litchi player in the finals at TX showdown. I mean that's just what I heard.
-
Nice, you're right. I was being numerically challenge.
-
Wow... I get it now.
-
Oh Pozerwolf... Drama Drama Drama. j/k I think it's probably a bit more in litchi's favor. maybe not 6-4, but perhaps 5.5-4.5. Mostly she has very good long range pokes that pretty much score her a combo from a counter-hit. During Jin's pressure she can easily DP out, now whether you bait that DP or not is something... The biggest problem with baiting her DP is it has to be done so smoothly you can actually punish her. If you're too far away when she does it you have to prepare to either counter hit her somehow, or avoid the stick when it falls. Kind of a shitty situation, where as Jin's DP when baited is easily punished for the most part, unless it's A DP, and even then you get fucked sometimes. Saying she has no anti-air or good air to air normals is Bullshit. Many a times has litchi beaten me with that fucking jumping legsplit shit air b and also air c. Fucking Chun li style. Be it air to air or ground to air bitch gets in sometimes with those. I feel like my jump normals never beat hers. Perhaps I'm just late on the quickdraw. As far as her normals go though she pretty much has to be pre-emptive with them. Luckily for her they have quite a few active frames. Which makes her a whore. At least getting her to do them gives you some time to get in on her. It's a hard fight for sure.

Ok so Anji. You've read some of the beginner's guide to Anji Mito. You've got some basic ideas of the character and how to play him. You understand that he's a complete and total badass who just happens to use fans to kill bitches... You know that part right? You understand that even though he is completely sweet he has no matchups in his favor really, and that is cool with you right? If you understand these things... Well I guess you're ready. Well, here's the more advanced guide to Anji mito and all his goodness: Anji Mito advanced combos: So here is a list of combos for Anji that are standard combos that pretty much work on any character in the game if done right. Note: I will not be posting anything character specific in this thread until later on. Also not posting anything basic here either as you should know by now that 5k,5s,2d is a simple combo that nets knockdown and butterfly, err just one example there. Ground combos: Starter: 5k,5s,5hs,236 Hs, FB rin. From here you can do several things. -Opponent close to corner: -(possibly dash forward depending on distance), 5k, 5s, On(623 HS). (Note that depending on character you can get another 236HS and from the wall bounce still get 5k,5s,On, this is often a better combo as it will put opponent in the corner at the end of the combo. Anji loves the corner butterfly.) -Opponent mid-screen: - Depending on the character you can either get 236 HS again or you might have to do 2366 HS. This is known as a running or dashing fujin. From there you can do another FB rin if you have the tension or regular rin to get knockdown. -If you chose FB rin again, more than likely right now your opponent is either in the corner, or you were close enough to the corner that your opponent actually flipped behind you. If your opponent is in the corner be sure to either get 5k, 5s, On or 5p On. If your opponent flipped behind you you would have been much better off taking the corner HS Fujin knockdown. More coming in a few minutes.
