  1. "Unknown Warrior" is scheduled to be free DLC next week according to what I heard as PSN's schedule, so Tuesday Night/Wednesday of next week.
  2. Once you unlock Desperado Chaos, he's fun to fight, and you get used to fighting him. Just, forget everything you know about "blocking", just don't even bother, just dodge his crap. Also some of his moves have no way to hit you on elevated terrain (Lunar stage/Orphan's Cradle)...his hitbox is huge so don't worry too much about missing.
  3. Well, so far, I'm liking Scorpion, but hating Sub-Zero... Scorpion's got some really easy 21-29% combos. FP-FP-Spear-4+BP-(delay)fj.FK-Teleport-Teleport-Teleport-fj.Airthrow Near Corner: (anything into 4+BP) - fj.FK+Airthrow (Anything into Spear) - fj.FK-Teleport-Teleport-Teleport-Spear Teleport - FP - FP -Spear - 4+BP - fj.Airthrow "fj" = Forward Jump. "j" = Normal straight up Jump "bj" = Back Jump You can mix ground throws into combos now too...but I'm not sure if throws are Break-able.
  4. I doubt this will change the fact that SSFIV's Online features are crap compared to BBCS...at least BBCS has an online training mode, and you can actually have a better idea of people's skill and playing habits with Drive Code Cards. Speaking of online features...me not knowing anything about MVC3...is there anything even close to BBCS online features?
  5. What I learned in JP Dissidia: Treachery of the Gods: Beginner to Moderate Dungeons for Lightning/Vaan/Laguna/Yuna/Kain/Tifa then later more difficult chapters have semi harder dungeons for them. Minor rules, no Kupo Level Penalties. (Best place to earn KP!) Reclaiming the Light: Beginner to Moderate/Semi Hard Dungeons for the "Big Ten" Minor rules, Kupo Level Penalty in effect (suppress your levels for maximum KP). Chaos chapter is a Semi-Hard Party Battle Chapter where you can choose any of the "Big Ten" in a party of your choosing, but it's recommended you pick characters associated with each villain you come across in order to unlock their cutscenes. Report: Reports cover Kuja, Terra, Kain, Shantotto, Bartz, Gilgamesh, Prische, Onion Knight, Cloud, Tifa, Squall, Laguna, and Zidane. Most can be done at Level 1 but don't ignore the Suggested Levels at the beginning pior to the fight. Confessions of the Creator (aka Inward Chaos): This is a Ultra-Hard Party Mode that has to be tackled a ton of ways, and ideally you want your best equipment, but whatever you do, do NOT try and talk to the assist characters in the dungeon unless you want equips, doing so will have you fight them!! Most enemies later on will always summon Atma and Omega, you will encounter Manikin versions of Prische/Gilgamesh/D.Chaos as well here. This place has some of the best Kupo shops in the game, but you have to fight past all the gates to proceed. Some dungeons are 10 Floors deep. It's recommended you have Level 50 villains here before even attempting some of the dungeons. Also note that some dungeons put a "Kupo Penalty Lock" on certain treasures, so that you have to get hit with Level Penalty in order to break the lock and get the treasure, so Level 100 and best equips from Labyrinth for everyone is recommended. Most Map Enemies are Level 86-115. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
  6. Best way to Level Up = Level 100 Gabranth + Calm A.I. set + Chocobo Accessories/Growth Egg + EXP x 5 Bonus Carrot. Best way to learn abilities = Level 1 Chaos Battle + Beckoning Cat Tips on "equipping abilities" Depending on your playing style with a character, consider what arsenal of moves you may need: --For example, Anti-Gravity Jump is actually useful for Sephiroth when he doesn't have his Glide ability in EX Mode. --Ground Omni Dash isn't really that useful unless you're using a ground oriented character like Laguna or Firion --Multi-Jumps aren't really useful compared to Evasion "jumping" with enhanced evasion invincibilty and range. --Keep in mind that "evasion-cancelling" is more effective when the range of the evasion isn't enhanced, the same goes for Kain's "airdash cancelling" between his combos. --Defensive characters need equips like Precision Blocking or Reposte to be more effective, but also because they're defensive, damage-reducing equips like Anti-Sneak Attack also helps. --Characters that rely heavily on Airdashing to improve their attack range (such as Cloud), need Airdash boost equips. --Consider how often you plan to use a move before you equip it, such as Precision Jumping or EX Command Omega. --Consider whether or not your character needs to attack immediately after being attacked, or if you simply need control over the recovery or not. --Consider how mobile a character has to be given their moveset and style and range. --For level 100 characters, consider what EXP benefit and accessory layout would most help that specific character, for example EXP to EX Force no longer gives much meter to Cloud, so to compensate he needs accessories that can gather the EX Force his moves generate. For characters that are offense-oriented (Kain) EXP Brave works better. For characters who take damage (Exdeath/Sephiroth), EXP HP works better. And for characters who benefit best from Assists (Kefka/Ultimecia), EXP Assist.
  7. I just want to know, is there a Cyrax or Sektor Gameplay trailer?
  8. Maybe selling SSFIV to put down a pre-order on MK9 was a good idea.
  9. Final Argument: Sol Badguy VERSUS Ragna=the=BloodEdge A being that constantly adapts drawing power from the backyard versus a being that is using soul energy from the boundary in order to maintain semblance of physical form without breaking down utterly. There are several questions to be asked: 1. How strong is the Backyard? 2. How strong is the Boundary? 3. Can cellular breakdown infect a lifeforce that constantly evolves and adapts and regenerates (i.e. the Soul Eater effect)? 4. Inversely, can evolving Gear cells be "overinjected with life" (i.e. the Idea Engine effect) and be overloaded to the point of rupture? 5. How long could such a battle last before Ragna's body ultimately breaks down due to over-use of the grimoire (or could he actually last longer than expected)? 6. How long could such a battle last before Sol is no longer cognitive and such a battle becomes meaningless and the equivalent of a man fighting a monster? I'll leave answering these questions to "true fans".
  10. CASE 2: Professor Frederick aka Flame of Corruption aka Sol Badguy: Sol's body was converted in structure to that of a Gear...reconfigured if you will...what parts of his body remain human are unknown as theoretically he retains his intellect, unlike other Gears...but the process known as "Dragon Install" is a technique that restructures his Gear cells to more evolve into the DNA of the creature that was "grafted" into his body (namely a Dragon). His powers are naturally enhanced by Magic that he draws from the Backyard, but even further enhanced by the Firesealed Sword (Fuuenken) that he wields. However, because of the nature of evolution, things that are strong and face opposition tend to get stronger, and therefore the cellular structure Sol was given is "exceeding the limits" of his Gear Cell containment device, causing it to erode. This does not mean he is losing his humanity...it is simply that he is no longer classified as human in broad terms (or truly human in the first place). It is mankind's sentimentality that causes us to cling to that which defines us, what's more it is what draws us to use what we define as "effective means" to achieve a goal...in other words what's a gamer without opposable thumbs? What's a warrior without hands to grip and swing a sword? If Sol loses that "sense of humanity" that he maintains within the containment he himself created, he can no longer achieve his revenge on That Man...or...if he can strike a balance between what remains human and the dragon within himself...he can exceed both species (and thus fulfill That Man's expectations that he "become a warrior")...it is this level of evolution that allows him to adapt quickly to the Soul Sinker magic, as well as to become adaptive to the dense pressure of the Backyard. Sol's body (semi-human or otherwise) is constantly evolving and adapting, therefore it is unknown what kind of lifespan he will have (currently exceeding 170 years of age). That Man asks the question "who will take on the role of the Devil first, he (referring to Sol) or I?"
  11. CASE 1: Ragna=the=BloodEdge: Prior to Continuum Shift it is said that Ragna is in a perpetual state of "self-refinement" this is similar to what Litchi is doing and what Arakune failed to do. That is to say "the grimoire is not a part of me, I am simply using it" is the philosophy behind how the grimoire actually works. Ragna's "arm" is a direct mechanism link into the boundary, however without that link it becomes similar in structure to an incapacitated Nox Nyctores, a weapon that runs on Seithr. It becomes hard and dead if there is no link to Seithr, also Ragna becomes blind in his red eye as a result of the link (keep in mind the brain hemisphere that controls the right side of the body is the left hemisphere, yet strangely his right eye is also affected by the grimoire, this may be a misnomer). So long as his arm is linked to Seithr and therefore the boundary, the mechanism is identical to a cauldron's refinement process, in effect the "refinement" in this case is to maintain Ragna's human form. It is not so much that he is holding anything back, so much as he is "holding himself together". When he activates the Ars Armagus "BlazBlue" aka "Blood Kain" by releasing the 666 Restriction, he is reconfiguring his cells to intake life-force and regnerate at an even larger rate than what his body can do naturally with his arm in its semi-dormant state. On a cellular level this is similar to an enhanced form of Cancer...his body is rapidly deteriorating, in order to compensate for the spacial distortion being generated from his arm via the "imaginary number" code. This "distortion" breaks down physical and magical matter and "refines" it to regenerate his body's constant break-down on a cellular level. By doing this he enhances his destructive power, but at the cost of his own physical state. Part of the reason he CAN do this is because of being bitten and obtaining Vampire blood/cells from Rachel Alucard. The process called "Blood Kain" is similar to an accellerated refinement of his body, acting as the Cauldron itself. "Black Beast" is a euphamism for a malfunctioning cauldron, as it did not have a stable Murakumo unit to forge...so in other words, Ragna is using his body as a proxy Murakumo Unit, and so long as his body does not break down utterly, the "cauldron" will never "finish forging the sword". But unlike the actual Black Beast, which had an Unstable (and insane) mind-center (namely Nu-13)...Ragna's mind is the lynchpin that keeps him stable enough to "control" the refinement process, ergo the "powers" of the Black Beast are controlled by him. Should his body break down, the refinement process could either produce a melt-down and self-destruct in on itself...or the process would produce a completely mindless "black beast" as what happened in CS2 storyline. However...since CS2, he has inducted into his body something called the "Idea Engine" intended to emulate or possibly be superior to a Nox Nyctores class weapon. This engine is capable of reversing the flow of Seithr in Ragna's arm...as well as in other living entities, in other words it can "give life" and not just "take life". What else this does to his powers remains unknown, but now part of his cell structure is even MORE like a Murakumo Unit's...so he is half murakumo half cauldron and part vampire...so who knows what he is now.
  12. Oh God. He's wrong on both counts. D: I will respond to this in the NEXT POST.
  13. lol, Gamefaqs has Cloud and Aerith DLC files but there's no way to use them Learning AP abilities takes foreeeeeeveeeerrrrrrr. D: Oi guys...dumb idea but... Help me make some Guilty Gear and BlazBlue rulesets in this.
  14. Nice vids, guys...still no sign of Duodecim DLC on UPSN yet....sigh. Oh and, someone keep me informed of Undub and possibly music hax, please.
  15. As a fighting game, I can see GG going through some changes. They've learned a lot through BlazBlue alone. Simplicity isn't necessarily ideal with GG, but then, if you consider what Mortal Kombat's transition is currently going through, there's hope. As a story, I can tell you there's tons of evidence that this is Daisuke's baby. He ain't gonna stop anytime soon. Just be patient, guys, once BlazBlue is over or almost over, and people support all that A.S.W. does, we'll see a new GG soon enough. I'm just thankful fighting games are plentiful in this day and age. Heck, I'm not even done organizing/translating GG's backstory yet, so before the next one comes, I hope you guys will read some of the stuff I'm working on.
  16. The term used is "Genki-Girl" >_> And her JP voice is a mix of Naruto, Rainbow Mika, and something else I can't identify so...meh. Does anyone know if US Save Data transfers to EU Save Data or is it allll region specific?
  17. Okay, doing Scorpion's Stage Fatality seems easier than Sub-Zero's for some reason. And, I have no clue how to get that Evil Forest Stage Fatality to work that they showed, unless that's not in the demo? And for anyone who doesn't know Breaker Move = 6+Block to interrupt combos, I think it takes 2 segments of Meter. X-Rays can be combo'ed into, so far I've gotten 42% dmg combo. Certain combos can be special cancelled into Scorpion's spear for example, and some characters are more juggle-oriented, like Milweena. Has anyone heard any sound clips of Cyrax or Sektor or seen full official renders of the lineup yet?
  18. I was thinking about trying EU but....hell screw it, I'll get the US version cuz DLC will be easier to get. Also, SxB don't put words in my mouth. I could care less about VAs...I just want English menus darnitall. Let me know when Undub happens, I'm interested, just cuz, and so long as DLC will work on it.
  19. Waitaminit...WHAT THE CRAP Is this the EU version? How are they playing this so soon?
  20. Someone actually has the moogle models and is playing with making PSP-sized wallpapers with various characters in them. Also, I'm 100% Done with U.S. Prologus. Actually managed to unlock Cloud with Kefka due to random spammage, lol I think the odds of fighting Tifa have something to do with how fast you beat enemies and the amount of damage you do per HP attack.
  21. That's not what I meant... :8/: I mean the input: :u:+
  22. Does anyone know how to do Scorpion's Stage Fatality? 6888+BP?
  23. No. Cuz you're mean. Anyway, okay so I got it. Normals feel like Armageddon, and nobody feels like they're doing kookie-kutter-kombos anymore, which is kinda good, but it's going to take a while to learn everything. Also, stuff like Scorpion's stage fatality input are just plain...well...they bring back a lot of memories, lol. X-Ray stuff feels like a big waste in terms of damage for what you get, which is next to zip once it's blocked, so it's actually better to spend it on enhanced moves, which feel more like they work in combos anyway. Juggling has always been a big part of MK, but usually only the masters get it down, and they aren't exactly Bread-n'-butters either. If this game is going anywhere, it needs a good training mode. Inputs feel like they got changed over the years, but that's not a bad thing and just something to get used to. Otherwise, everything else feels like MK, and not even fast-paced like MK3 was...more like MK1 and 2 speed. Combos don't need to hit to be done for some, but not all, Sub-Zero's sword combo doesn't come out full if the first hit wiffs so, maybe it's a balance thing. Honestly, I'm sincerely hoping they didn't brutalize Cyrax and Sektor and Cybersmoke....also heard about Cyber Sub-Zero which I'm looking forward to. Also hoping the MK3 sounds they made make a comeback too.
  24. Really? I hadn't heard this, I though it was for those exclusive subscribers?
  25. Rich people that can afford exclusive demos suck.
