  1. That's ironic considering how powerful he is in that game...
  2. I'm not exactly a fan of any character except Zero but...I do like some of the women in the Megaman games...hot stuff they are, dunno their names. *on topic* Can someone give me a clearer understanding of how this games' system works? I barely understand wavedashing or any of the other nomenclature MVC2 had...
  3. Zeth, I know you could use the training, and I could use the practice on my subs...you've rage-quit on me once or twice, mang. I'm cool about it, but in reality I suck compared to other Dustloop players. So we really should play more.

  4. Well, I'm new to Ara, but I'm picking him up rather quickly and can do his 101-hit BnB, though setting it up is a little hard. My problem is his 6A>5D>j.D>5D nonsense tends to be full of holes, and I never know when it's safe to use 6A. Also, I have a hard time using Bugs effectively once people start to block them, I try crossing people up, but this doesn't work in some cases, and I end up losing my curse to their defense. Lastly, I have a really hard time landing bugs in the corner. D bug almost never works there, and I don't know the timing of using C+D bugs after j2A dive>j2C dive (it's Challenge Mode combo # 8 I think). Well in general I'm not used to comboing into and out of curse, but with a little more time I can get the hang of it.
  5. God I hate air throws...so hard to predict....
  6. Well, Tager's just an example. In most cases, if I don't tech, they pick me back up and prorate combos me for chip damage, or punish any possible tech I do. Jin and Ragna do this as well that I know of, Bang too. Back tech gets punished, forward tech gets punished, blocking on slow getup gets me thrown, neutral gets me thrown, air forward tech gets me air thrown, and well...yeah I hate people who've seen through everything.
  7. Can someone help me get a clearer understanding on how to deal with "resets"? Tager is notorious for them, but I know there are other characters who use them...is there any countermeasures or things to be wary of that can help me defensively?
  8. Call this a preventive measure...but I've seen something akin to an all-purpose "I'm Drunk Thread", specifically for people who post random nonsense on the forums just cuz they're drunk. I was just thinking about this, and wondered what you thought. *does not drink but finds drunk posts annoying*
  9. Just give me Strider and I'll be happy.
  10. Well, Dizzy's IK "would" be useless if she weren't in GG Mode. IK Stabs act can cancel into any normal in the game, and any point at which you may be guarding, forcing the opponent to do three random direction inputs and make a "pressure reset". All IK stabs are basically your Dead Angle pokes.
  11. You guys act like GG is Jesus Christ and BB is John the Baptist, here...calm down. If I had to say, BB is anything potentially possible with the NEXT GG, something to look forward to. I'd say there are a lot of renovations in BB that GG absolutely needed or will need when the time comes. And if you're saying BB is dumbed down, you obviously haven't had a clear look at how the system changed and how things are being developed and perfected. Not just the core gameplay, but the gimmicks, all the little mistakes and glitches they're learning about and fixing...all that stuff is making the next GG potentially greater. Now, I may be an optimist, but I'm not going to put my hopes insanely high for the next GG...I just know Daisuke will NOT disappoint. It's his baby after all.
  12. Well in my case, I play various rushdown types that don't zone traditionally: Ragna, Jin (only because he's forced to a lot in this matchup situation), Haku-men (I'd be lucky to get a Fumajin during D-Wall), Bang sometimes, and Tager. Right now the only character I can get past D-wall is Arakune, but I get punished big time for it in a lot of cases.
  13. Anyone got any tips on dealing with Laser Spam. I mean...it's one thing to use it for oki...it's another to use it as a wall to keep an opponent from getting in (they don't even bother to combo with it, 2 hits at most). And even if I do get in, I get hit with her 3C>2B>5C>6C > Mirror DD or 6B mixup...just not really fun at all across the board (even Arakune has a tough time getting through).
  14. 2011 you mean. Patience is a virtue it seems.
  15. I could see Ragna going psycho-pissed over his Brother's bro-complex...though he might actually have a sister-complex.

  16. There's always hope for Rufus Shinra and his double-barrell shotgun, lol

How do you convert people who play DDR and Guitar Hero? D: Also, WoW, Halo, and CoD. :8/:
  18. PSN/Penis...lol I GET IT.....

  19. Oh gosh, I wish that were true....I miss Sol and Ky so much these days. If GG Character could have "Drives" like BB chars: : Drive: "Bandalore Trick" Places out his Yoyos. :KY:: Drive: "Charged Driver" Charges up his Electricity for various strengths (think Order Sol but with more range). : Drive: "Sakura" Similar to Bang's Autoguard system, but has more counter moves emphasis. : Drive: "Soul Cycle" Summons Centipedes around his body and can attack with Ghosts based on the number of souls he has. : Drive: "Reflex Roar" After building up his "strength" gauge, can use his Drive to turn into his younger form for massive damage. : Drive: "Benten Harvest" uses his sickle attacks to build friction and eventually can summon fire-based attacks and traps. : Drive: "Cue" His drive summons various cueballs at different angles to fire for precision shots at sniper distance. : Drive: "Zero Shift" Her drive allows her to move around the stage at incredibly fast intervals or give her extra mobility for combos but has a cooldown period for certain things. : Drive: "Blood Pact" summoning Phantom Soul or Master of Puppets marks his opponents for death, giving him more and more power with each hit and trap. : Drive: "Divine Speed" his drive slowly charges up the speed his sword strikes, but also the speed at which he moves. : Drive: "A-B-A" uses bloodpacks to change modes of the berserker "Double Edged Hell" or restore her strength. : Drive: "Corrupt Flame" every time he attacks, he has the chance to conserve the power behind his flames, the more he builds, the more fire is unleashed. He can also delay his sword swings and charge them for more damage (think Overture mixed with Order-Sol). : Drive: "Breath of Asanagi", her drive allows her to charge up her attacks, speed, priority, and the ability to cancel into one another. : Drive: "Dandy Step", allows him to dodge an attack in various ways and counter with his own. : Drive: "Fortissimo", uses her sonic attacks to either charge them for more hits, or strike her opponents with Chemical Love. Her Drive is what allows her to Fly. : Drive: "Electric Gauge" his drive releases steam or summons an electric charger or captures his opponents as he relies on his Heat Gauge (aka Tension Gauge) for power. : Drive: "What's coming out next?", his drive throws out random things or allows him to warp around the battlefield. : Drive: "Magnum Opera", his drive consists of many "impact bullets" that makes him need to reload, he starts out with so many, but can reload by critically guarding certain attacks. : Drive: "Dark Sentinel", his shadow can be summoned in various ways but can also be used to confuse his opponent. : Drive: "Imperial Laser" she can summon various bits to assist her in attacking, but also uses other things to protect herself. : Drive: "Iron Maiden" Her drive summons a "Living Lancer" that can be controlled in conjunction with her speedy attacks. : Drive: "Wolf Gale" Uses his drive to teleport around the field and do various quick attacks and Ninja Tricks. : Drive: "Fan Dancer" his drive allows him to Dance in multiple directions and defend against attacks while countering with his own. : Drive: "Pure Love" she uses her drive to spin in place in conjunction with summoning dolphins (she can charge it up for a whale strike). Yeah I'm crazy, for posting this....

Um...actually it has nothing to do with that. Unlike people who seem to think friends playing BlazBlue grow on TREES, there are people who not only don't have a scene *oh god the horror*, but also don't exactly have the means of meeting up with people because they don't own a car or a plane or a decent pair of extremely long distance hiking boots and camping equipment. I'm talking about that poor single guy who lives in Austrailia whose *scene* is a bunch of Aboriginee Shamen who think his PS3 is haunted by spirits. Poor guy. I'm talking about those lone Canadians out in the backwoods who have to cross the border for any competition. I'm also talking about that guy in Alaska who eats seal blubber every so often while playing. It's not an ISSUE of preference. Some people have no CHOICE.

Because it annoys guys like you who would rather play offline. :P
  22. I thought it would be worthwhile to put up a thread whose sole purpose is for working with and connecting with people who can read Japanese text or translate scans and other things. You can think of this as a sort of drop-off point for stuff that needs translating, usually resources, news articles, story passages, Mooks for Story Modes (aka Story Guides and text). Whether it's for GG or BB or something else, I think this would be a good place. And to those of us who CAN translate stuff...I think this place could also serve as a place to meet up, fix translations, compare notes, ask questions to clarify and get "incentives" for translating projects. What I mean by incentives is this: for those of you who can translate stuff, as we know translating can be a lot of hard work, so I figure anyone who actually does translating of something should be compensated somehow for their work, be it free fanart by request from someone, or some other kind of goodies for people who contribute and have time to contribute, or perhaps some other suggestion people have. I'm open to suggestions on what people would like for incentives of this sort, and would support anything you have in mind. Since I'm limited in my translation ability (from time to time), I can always use my art skills to compensate people for their work here as well. Even if it's just a little passage that got converted from Japanese to German to English, you get compensated, that's what I'd aim to do here. Again, I'm open to suggestions on what people would like to do here, but at any rate, there will be two types of posts in this thread for the most part: "Request" posts: Providing the source text in need of translating is MANDATORY, if you can't paste it here or if it's a huge body of text, scan it as an image or try to get a text document and attach it to your post if you can. "Translation" posts: Translation could be as an attached text, or the post itself, but be sure to cite the original Request post if you can so that people can link back to the source if needed. Also, post something you'd like to get for compensation if you have something in mind, or a suggestion on how to further this thread. I'll be posting some Requests in another post later on, but I'd like anyone and everyone capable of typing or speaking another language and converting it to English to be aware of this thread. It's a tool to keep people aware of what needs translating around here. To requesters: please be respectful and courtious when requesting and don't make translators bite off more than they can chew or give them too much to work with. We all have busy lives so giving people time to work on stuff is reasonable enough. If you have a huge chunk of text you want translated, break it into bite-sized chapters people can work on a bit at a time, so they don't feel stressed. Thanks.

Yeah I don't really care what anyone except ATGMantenbo says in this thread, since it's mostly whining about online lag anyway. What I would suggest for "isolated players" are a number of things: If possible, set your room connection limitation to 3 or 4 bars or higher, that way you have a better chance of finding local online players. Sometimes a few 0 bars slip in, or they fluctuate, nothing you can do about that, but if you find someone who has a decent connection you can play with consistently, ADD THEM TO YOUR FRIEND LIST. The more you play the more the both of you learn. Also, limit your room to yourself and one other player (2 slots total), any more will cause lag most likely, and tell them to unplug their mike if you can. Even if you're not that great at combos, get used to blocking and knowing what moves link or cancel into eachother without risk (training mode is a must for this). Sometimes just being able to out-poke someone can win you a match, this works in lag as well. Just don't get too used to doing the same moves over and over again, even if they seem effective, people find a way around them. Even during lag, knowing what can safely cancel can really help (especially guard strings). So set your training dummy to block "after first hit" so you know what combos work. Find different combinations and combo setups that work best for you, not just what does better damage or puts you in a good position. Throw is always great during lag, so abuse it. As around in Match Finder to see if local people live near you (find threads from your State or country), otherwise, give the Competition Map a try.
  24. Probably because he was no longer a member of the Sacred Order, to them he's a deserter and wanted criminal and thief (being a deserter alone is warrant of a death penalty in some armies). When he broke his limiter, he only had just enough time to beat Justice into submission, then he had to run away (seeing as he didn't want people to see him with the Gear mark). That and, unlike the alternate history, Ky is the leader of the Order now, and probably much more humane than Sol (even despite Justice's war crimes).
  25. Tifa better have her AC outfit as alt. I want dem martial arts boobs bouncin'.
