I'm bored and having a rotten weekend, I'll throw my thoughts in. I look at the AC tiers in 2 sections. The areas that I think are easy to tier (the top and the bottom) and the area that gets really muddy in AC (the A-B section). For me The top is unquestionably Eddie, Test, Slayer, Potemp Call it S if you like. (Eddie is top, Po is 4th, Slayer and Test could potentially switch given their growth potential). The bottom is unquestionably Johnny, Anji, I-no, and Bridget. Probably in that order. Bridget is the bottom for me, you could argue the position of the other 3. Now for the muddy parts. For me there is the group right behind the top 4. This would consist of Baiken, May, and Jam. We'll call this the top of A. Then the group right above the bottom, this is where would set: Robo, Chipp, and Ky. in no order. We'll call this the bottom of B. This last part is the area where you could switch and move people with impunity. We have left. Millia, Aba, Zappa, HOSS, Sol, Faust, Axl, and venom. For me, Aba, Millia, and Axl are all A, Axl being at the very end. Venom, Zappa, Hoss, Sol, Faust are all in portions of B, but ordering them is near impossible if you ask me. So by process of elimination, Here's my list. S and C are in order to the T. A is mostly in order. B is seperated in half, but neither is really in order, the middle is very up for grabs. S: Eddie, Test, Slayer, Po A: Jam, Baiken, May, ABA, Millia, Axl B: Hoss, Venom, Faust, Zappa, Dizzy, Sol, Robo, Chipp, Ky C: Johnny, Anji, I-No, Bridget

This is pretty old hat but if you want to use 5S in the pochop match, place a ball out in front of you. As long as you have a ball out that will be hit by the 5S you are safe as that will beat out just about anything potemp can do. Just watch for slidehead when setting up the ball. Super jumping back and summoning balls mid air is your friend, PROVIDED that po doesn't have 50% for HPB. Get in the air, summon a ball or two, and then call them back to the ground with a ground summon. Again, just use your brain and make sure you aren't setting yourself up as slidehead bait. Slash DHM is suprisingly effective against potemp at match starting range. If he swings, it will beat most of his options. If he hammerfall breaks however, its probably your ass, this is a useful tool for a potemp who likes to spam back megafists. Your goal is simply to get potemp into the corner. With proper use of ball pressure and your best mixups (Whore FB MS mixups in the corner), you can put potemkin on the ropes. This is a fight about patience. Lot's and lots of it. If you pick your spots to summon balls properly, and don't blindly rush you will have a chance to get some pressure on potemkin. When you do, don't waste it.

If I can learn this character, anyone can do it. I'm still In central Iowa (I.e. a deadzone for all things competitive gaming), and with enough time and thought anyone can get Venom up to an acceptable competitive level. Like all things it takes time though. The number one thing I can tell people right now is to spend the time it takes to consistently hit Venom's big damage combos, he is one of those characters that when you open up your opponent with the opportunity for a hugh chunk of life, you can't afford to drop it. Venom can be played to great effects by nickle and diming your opponent with multiple knockdowns, but if you want to see your win ratio increase dramatically in AC, start hitting the juice combos. I.E. 6P, 6H, S.Cr, 6H, the rest. Or 6P 6H, summon hs ball, 6P, 6H, S.Cr, The rest. Since I'm trying to get back to a close to top player level, maybe i'll try to spend more time in the forums again.

More than likely it's becase two ball formations are much harder to escape since it takes less time to have the formation prepared. 3 ball formations are nice, but you sacrifice a lot of time in prep for a setup that doesn't give you that much more of an advantage after a throw, 2 ball setups are more than ample to setup Venoms best oki games after that.

Tiger has the right idea, what N-O has is over 5 years with the same character playing the best players in the world time and time again. He gets matchup knowledge with every character and he gets countless amounts of experience that an American player is pretty much completely unable to recieve given how the American GG scene works. I don't doubt N-O uses training mode, most good players do, but his strength is that he understands his human opponents better than 99.9% of the people who play the game, and that comes from matchup play and experience.

Sure, just stating that the move does have a use and it's pretty simple to execute it in that format. Having the ability to get that round ending hit at fullscreen is a luxury that not a lot of characters have.
-
FB SA is actually very useful in end of round situations, because of it's insane speed you can catch people off guard for chip damage or nailing someone while they try and zone you to protect themselves when they are down to a pixle.
-
Know your opponents plan and movement before they do, that's pretty much the trick.

this guide is hella old, but i do thank GB for reposting it, there is a ton of stuff i would rewrite on this if i still played the character reguarly. Guide is very outdated at this point tho, with no doubt.

J1n much prefers the gourmet taste of "cappin fuckers in their dome" as opposed to the overused korean cuisine of "zerg rushes"

Anyone tell me the song used in the new AC Millia vid: "Destiny"?

We're all figuring shit out on our own, let's go whine on the internet about how someone else posted it..... O shi..

def - Yea bro she'll likely be my main in AC, i've seen yours a few times, one of the few that have impressed me besides AKA.
-
Because he's right, even in jest that was asking for someone to give you shit for it. I still don't have my copy, but rest assured when I do i will be keeping whatever I work out with millia between myself and AKA, im just going to let my play do the talking for me this go round, it speaks volumes louder than what's posted on these boards.

i just wanted to see if i could hit vt loop.... i couldn't. boo me.

hopefully splitting the serves up by delay frame will help alleviate the desync issues, especially since there are not near as many of us that use delay 4 as compared to delay 2

Domii just has a playstyle that fits anji very well, in that he takes a lot of risks at an opportune time. Even going back to SBO 2k6 you can start to notice that a lot of his wins come when he throws a lot of high risk moves (hs fuujin, kick stop in unsafe situations, etc) and the big payoff comes forth. Not taking anything away from him, the dude is amazing, but to me it just shows that Anji has to play a risky game to be successful, especially in AC.
-
I will mainly be switching because i don't like the way Anji plays in AC, and theres no point to palying the game if im not going to have fun doing it. I will still play him, but if my suspicious are confirmed he's not going to play in a manner i enjoy and my lack of comp makes it impossible for me to overcome the hurdles i think Anji will have to jump to be competitive in that game. Also Aaron (AKA) is like a brother to me, and i'm enjoying learning a character first hand from him.
