  1. What kind of sick, twisted parent would name their son Milln? Everyone would look at his name on paper and call him "Mill-In."
  2. I'd like to call you guys what you want to be called. If you use a handle just to have one, I don't mind referring to you by your real name. If you use a handle because you don't want to be called by your real name (for whatever reason) *coughStarcough*, I don't mind referring to you by your handle. All I ask is some time to adjust, since I'm used to associating certain names with certain people. :P
  3. You say it like you have a girl's name or something, Star. You have about as masculine of a name as you can get. >_>
  4. You mean CatButt Jr. He named his cat after himself. :3
  5. Sorry, I meant "under" his Gamertag. As in, you can check for it there... Although Ecstatic Entropy would be a pretty freakin' awesome name (as well as a bitch for those bubble sheets).
  6. "Lee" is a lot easier than "Astaroth," haha. I think I'll do just that. :3 And I think I know Volpe's real name (it says on his Gamertag, too) but I don't wanna say in case he doesn't want people to know or prefers Volpe or whatever. :P EDIT: Also, what's wrong with your IRL name, Star? :[
  7. Lol, Youtube's thumbnail system is screwed up right now. For Pickle vs. Klein, it was showing thumbnails for Stephen King's "It." XD
  8. Star in this thread, teaching people "How do Hakumen." I like it. :D Also, if any of you have been confused at the names of the recently uploaded videos, it's because Youtube's new uploading layout hasn't been saving my descriptions or edits to the file name. For the HD videos, I've been numbering them by... Well, numbers, to help me keep the videos in order of which they happened. And to keep the SD videos in order, I've been numbering them by letters. So, if you're like Milln and you were thinking I've been including the bracket letters, that is not the case. :P I'll go ahead and fix the ones I have uploaded now, and use the default format to upload from now on.
  9. *Sniffs* Hm... What's this new thread smell about? *Checks OP* Haha, I like it. :D Fantastic job Milln. Volpe- I know there is. I think it's somewhere on the "Enemy" tab to the right, and I think you need to adjust a slider located there to tell the enemy which frame to tech on. It's been a while since I messed with it. And because I feel like an asshole for not mentioning it already: Shoutouts to JamsLegs and Shenanigans. Tao players are ALWAYS welcome, and Ragna players unite. I understand you both made quite a trip to participate, and it just didn't feel right not saying anything- so thanks a bunch for coming! Be sure to show up again when you can. It's always cool talking with out-of-staters, and I didn't get the opportunity to talk with either of you really. :[
  10. I fixed the Klein vs. Papstr match. Sorry for the confusion. It's hard to keep track of which Hakumen/Ragnas are which sometimes, especially when the match is... Hakumen vs. Ragna. >_> (We had four of each this time around). Thanks for the help guys. :] I'll be uploading more later tonight.
  11. I'm working on them right now, Milln. I wanna get through the SD footage before I get into the stuff with commentary though. The only bad news (sorry Papstr/whoever used his mic) is that my Dad's computer defaulted to recording with the internal mic as opposed to the external one- meaning it didn't record anything worthwhile behind two T.V.s. The good news is that the Turtle Beaches pick up sound so well, the co-commentary (while quieter than the main commentary, obviously) is still audible for the most part. I should have commentary footage up by tomorrow at the latest. :D
  12. Sorry I haven't contributed more than one combo, guys. I was busy playing in a tourney this weekend (which I actually won :D) and editing the recorded stuff (which I'm still not done with). I've been looking into a way of improving the first combo a bit, and if I could at least contribute one more than that I would feel a bit better. XD
  13. It's complicated. I must have fudged up the number somewhere along the line when uploading, and logically this was the tenth one. I remember you talking about this being the twelfth one, but I didn't know if we were considering this one the twelfth because we wouldn't normally meet the next couple months, so I did the math on what we already had and that's what I came up with. Mah bad. It's fixed now. Haha, sorry Papstr. I thought we only had three Ragnas this time. That must mean the Ragna is Shenanigans. ... Who the heck is Shenanigans? >_>
  14. Hey guys, I've got nine matches from Saturday up on MTNGNetwork. In case you're lazy or don't have the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/MTNGNetwork?feature=mhee Comments 'n stuff are always welcome. :]
  15. Oh, no- now MY messages are gone! I caught the Star too! :< (Seriously though, Milln helped me figure out what it was. My bad. :3)
  16. Sorry for posting like a million times today guys, I've been doing a lot of stuff on the computer. Does anyone know who this Pink Tager and Blue Platinum fighting each other might be? I'm having trouble figuring it out. It's very early in the tournament, taking place after Tad and Zeno's match.
  17. My friend Tret was the Lambda player. You'll be happy to know he's subbing Mu now, Star. ;3
  18. ^That's what I was about to say. Competitive talk is certainly within bounds, Star, but what Astaroth said is that he DIDN'T mean for it to come off the way you took it. XP
  19. You aren't worried people took that the wrong way, are you Astaroth? I mean, I don't remember where you said it, but I caught what you meant right off the bat. :P
  20. Make it with a statue of "The Thinker" for ironic purposes, Star. :3 (Don't actually kill yourself plz) I've gotten around to editing some of the tourney matches today, and I've already noticed something odd. There's at least one place where the recording "hiccups" in both sound and audio (while still remaining in sync, thank God) and skips a few seconds of a match- but when it picks back up, the players have paused (assumedly because they lost video to the TV when the capture card did). I'd imagine it has to do with the power problems we had with everything crammed in that corner. I made the effort to cut out the pause screen, but there's still going to be a bit of footage that was lost. Just so you guys know I'm not doing a half-assed job of editing. :P
  21. I don't think we'd need that many T.V.s brought, Astaroth- just one HD TV if we're going to be recording, unless Milln (or whoever the rest of the TVs belong to) takes the ones from the storage room back to their place (not to rag on anyone if they do, I mean, it's their TVs after all :P). We should be fine with the majority of the TVs there if that isn't the case. Oh, and I know there are at least a couple people here who will be interested in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_foqkDzsvtQ
  22. All right, let's do these shout-outs (in alphabetical order after Milln): --- Milln: I can't possibly thank you enough for everything you do. None of this would have been possible without you- and I'm not just talking about the tournaments. You've brought together an awesome group of people, and kept us together as a group of friends. I can honestly say I've had more fun this past year of MTN than I've had the rest of my life combined (and no, I don't care if that sounds sad :P). I know you won't be able to run tournaments for the next couple months, but stay in touch with us if at all possible. I don't know if I can handle a complete Milln hiatus until January. D: So, until next the next tournament you run, stay hype, stay awesome, and stay Milln. :D (P.S. Snowboard Kids has been majestically positioned on my nightstand. So much <3) Astaroth: I- I perfected you three times? Are you serious? O_O Damn Astaroth, I'm sorry. I hope you don't feel like I was trying to take a dump on you or anything like that, because I definitely wasn't. My games against you were the most intense of yesterday's BB games, and the last thing I'd want is for you to feel otherwise. I'm happy we got to play in a legit tourney again, though, and I'm looking forward to you returning the favor in November's tourney in literally every game we play. :3 On a side note, my parents brought up a good point about November's MTN- if we hold it the last Saturday of the month, it's going to be on the same weekend as Thanksgiving/break. Not only will a lot of people be out of town or spending time with their folks, but the mall will probably be having weekend sales and stuff that'll make things more hectic. May I suggest we make it the next to last Saturday instead for November's MTN? AzurePhoenix: OMG WE HAVE A PLATINUM MAIN? :O Dayum, awesome. Thanks for coming down from Memphis, for competing as a character our scene hasn't had in a tourney yet, and for letting Star borrow your converter. It was a pleasure meeting you in person. Hope you can make MTN a regular thing. :D Cyner: Dude, we didn't talk, like... At all. :[ Your Hakumen seems to be going well, though, and I'm really happy you were able to make it out again. Thanks for coming! Maybe next time I'll have more time to talk. X3 Doromac: "Do you really not wanna get Astral'd that bad?" Lol. Sorry Doromac, you know how I am. :3 It's good to see your Valk is still in shape, and I'm happy I got to face you in person yesterday. I can't wait to get destroyed by you in UMvC3 though. :D Falcon: Dood, where were you all day? I only talked to you... Like... As you were heading out. Plus, we never got in that Guilty Gear game either. :[ So, be sure to show up next time. We'll get in that GG game, and I'll play you in BB for sure. :] Grimstar: >:[ Justin: It was good seeing you out again, sir. I would have loved to play some Melty Blood with you in the arcade (I actually looked a bit more into the game, so I've improved just a tad) but they took it out of the machine for something else. :'< That new one better come out soon, or else I'm gonna cry. K.O.: Man, did you leave like halfway through or something? You just kinda vanished at some point, and I have no idea where you went. >_>; In any case, thanks for showing up again. You're a cool and funny dude. Klein: I still can't believe you're only 17. How have you not been charged with underage possession of one of the manliest beards in existence yet? :3 I'm sorry to say I didn't get to see you play yesterday, though, but I'm sure your Hakumen's coming along nicely (especially with a stick like that). Keep up the good work. :] Naimat: Great games yesterday, man. Both matches were extremely close, and I'm glad you kept me on the edge of my seat. I think that really helped me later in the tourney. :D I hope me winning the tourney caused some desalinization on the fact I knocked you out. I know I'm not your person of choice to get knocked out by, but at least I didn't beat you and get knocked out next game. XD In any case, I'm sure that'll give you some incentive to practice and try to body me next time. I'm looking forward to it. :] Papstr: Because I clearly haven't given you enough crap about it already- be sure to wake up on time next MTN. XP Practice dem Ragna combos, and practice dat UMvC3 when you get it. I'm counting on it. :] Also, thanks for commentating with Pickle and stuff. That's sure to add hype icing to the top of the hype cake. :D Oh, and one more thing- be sure to study your pre-cal. :3 Pickle: Dayum, Pickle. You've improved. I didn't see a single purple throw in our matches together (I think). :3 I'm glad you were able to make it down again. You're such a cool guy to talk and hang out with. And like I said to Papstr, thanks for commentating. I REALLY hope we can make this a regular thing. :D Star: And yet another tournament you put me into the loser's bracket. I really need to start practicing my Noel matchup. :P Still, it's easy to see how much you've improved, and why you've been pushing for everyone else to step it up recently. I'm happy you made it out yesterday, and that you weren't near as salty as I thought you might be (no offense). :3 Keep up the good work! Tad: Your main is Valkeneto, and you make him look broken as shit. XD I told you yesterday and I'll tell you again- I'm seriously impressed with how much you've improved in such little time. It makes me really happy to hear that you don't plan on playing by the book- I wish more people did, because it can give such an edge on the competition, as well as your experience with the game. You're in the running for first place in the next MTN. I'm looking forward to seeing you compete then. :D P.S. I'm REALLY looking forward to Guilty Conscience. I'll do EVERYTHING I can to make it. :] Tret: Thanks for coming up and giving it a shot, Tret. You told me you expected to get bodied, but I was really impressed with how well you performed. I'll help you work out the kinks best I can before the next tourney. :] Vocal Sabre: Call me a weeaboo, but I'm totally jelly of your wallet and Japanese-speaking skills. It was cool to see you at MTN again, especially seeing how much you've gotten better. Make it out again next time, man. :D Volpe: Dear god Volpe, how did you grind so efficiently to level up this much? XD Really, I couldn't believe it. You had me nervous as fuck every round (which is probably why I seemed so throw-heavy, seeing as how you're so consistent with landing Hakumen's counters). Don't sell yourself short, though- Grand Finals were definitely hype. Hakumen's Distortion whiffing because of Dead Spike was lulzy and unexpected (even for me), and I didn't even know it was possible to grab Ragna out of Carnage Scissors. All in all, it was a fine Grand Finals, and I'm happy to have faced you in it. Work hard to make it there again, all right? :D Wes: Basically, the same thing I said to Tret. I didn't let on about it much, but I was impressed with your performance as well. I'll be happy to try and show you what you're lacking so you can do better next MTN. :] Zeno: I swear to god, I have no idea why I can never remember your name for some reason. ;_; Congrats on beating Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (lol). Other than that... We didn't really talk much during the tournament, and I never got to see you play. :/ If you're doing good, keep up the good work! If not... Uh... Get better and stuff! XP Anyone I forgot: Cut me some slack and look at the size of this message. Let me know I forgot you and I'll give you a shoutout in a nice, clean comment of your own. X3 --- Just a few other things- I thought it was kind of funny how a bunch of you felt goofy/unconfident/silly/whatever after answering the Community Questions on camera. Seriously, everybody gave VERY good answers- I was more than happy with you guys' responses. Thanks again for helping us with footage for Get Exposed. :D I apologize for knocking the power out on pretty much everything before the tournament. Richard warned us that might happen because they didn't have time to do any tests, but I didn't think a few setups would be enough to kill the entire wall, along with some of the arcade machines on the OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM. It turns out there were a lot of arcade machines I didn't account for, but it was definitely my fault for trying to put too much on one outlet, so I'm sorry. And I hope everybody enjoyed Apples to Apples. I hate how obnoxious my laugh is, and I get a kick out of things way too easily, but hopefully that didn't get in the way of everyone's fun. Great moments in that game, including Naimat playing "Naimat" on the "Annoying" card (especially without it being picked), "Oranges" in general, "AIDS" for actually being played, and "Hiroshima" landing in my hand again. Great times indeed. Can't wait to play you guys in it again (assuming people *would* want to play it again). :] Until next time, stay fresh and keep practicing, you guys. It'd be really hype for me to be dethroned real soon, just sayin'. :D
  23. And then the thread was silent, haha. Damn, I really picked a bad time to go to sleep though. I thought I was seeing things when I woke up and saw the thread increased two more pages in eight hours. I don't want you to feel like you're being ganged up on Star, but I *personally* think you need to sit down and think about what it is you want. You seem very fickle to me, but I think that's partially because you decide on things before you think about them from the other side of the spectrum. I apologize if I'm wrong. You just have to understand what it's like for us, from the outside looking in- you tell us how free we are, then don't give anyone a chance to play against you- you find a converter, then you don't- you're hype, then you're not. No matter what it boils down to, the fact of the matter is that you've been sending us mixed messages, and it hasn't been in the most neutral of manners as of late. I don't mind if you insult me, as long as it's just me. When you talk shit about the community and you're clearly not messing around, you've gone too far. If you'd tried to stay in touch with the community, you'd know how legit everyone is now. Papstr and Pickle both have Ragna's combos down pat (which honestly scares the shit out of me, haha). Volpe beat me in the tournament before last, and that wasn't without reason. Milln knows his shit about Jin and Ragna, AND he's still learning Hazama from what I understand. Doromac plays a solid and unique Valk. Naimat's been improving his already-gawdlike Bang. Astaroth's Astaroth. And that's not even everyone. On top of that, we've got competition from Memphis coming out, and I'm bringing a couple MTNewbies from Cookeville up today. The competition has never been more fierce, or more prominent. If you want to compete, Star, compete. This isn't the difference between using a Stick and a Pad- it's the difference between using Pad A and Pad B, or getting a converter. If you don't want to compete, don't- just don't think that gives you an excuse to undermine other players' hard work. I'll be heading out within the hour. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there in the new retro museum. :D And after that- competitive Apples to Apples wherever we go eat! Even Naimat condones it. :3
  24. I'm gonna go ahead and hit the hay. I've got pretty much everything I need to bring tomorrow already packed up, and I'm hype for tomorrow (although still a bit worried... I didn't get to practice near as much as I wanted to, haha :P). So, looking forward to seeing you all there tomorrow, and until then- get hype! EDIT: Whoops, you posted while I was typing Papstr. I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks for offering.
  25. Trololololol. I love it. The set-up should be Tager 6A Super Armor or someone's Guard Point mashing 5A.
