Middle Tennessee Needs Gaming! Monthly Versus Tourneys - Antioch, TN

Sorry Milln, I've been without a Phone for a little bit while my parents got me an Iphone, which was tonight. Awesome. :3 Scratch that McDonald's thing. -

If anyone does host anything, I won't be able to make it, seeing as how I'm stuck in North Carolina with relatives until late next week. :/ It sucks. We don't even have internet at the house. I'm going to be at McDonald's for free wi-fi for like half this visit. -

For all extents and purposes, with all the new story portions, mechanics overhaul, new modes and whatnot, Continuum Shift WAS the second Blazblue. Let's pray to god we never see a "Blazblue 2" a la what they did with Guilty Gear 2. To answer your question though, I'm still waiting to see if there are new placeholder/character artwork/themes on the Extend disk before I decide anything. I made a thread in General about it and practically nobody has a copy of the Japanese 360 game to check. If there isn't anything to indicate DLC characters, I'd wager the next Blazblue will have at least three or four new characters. -

Haha, I know. I gotta man up and say something this time around. I don't think leaving Friday will give me enough of an opportunity to make it down there and compete, after all. Sorry to have made you repeat yourself so often. This time I'll actually step up and use your Millnly advice. Thanks Milln. :3 -

... you raise an excellent point. I guess I could always say I'm "heading out right after classes" and then just not go to classes. *Taps fingers together* Excellent~. Only thing is that I'd need a morning class on Friday for this to work (don't have next semester's schedule lololol). I still hope BB and KoF aren't on Friday though. :/ Anyway, who's up for another five-person trip to McDonald's at 3 in the morning in my Mustang once we're there? :D -

I'm not the one that needs convincing, it's my parents. They already think I don't care enough about my classes as it is (despite my making nothing but good grades this semester), and since they're kind of paying for my college, I don't want to do anything that would make them reconsider. On top of that, my mom seems to have something vicious against me spending the weekend anywhere away from home. I still have nightmares about MWC weekend. *Shudders* I'll definitely do what I can though. If I can't convince my parents to let me leave Friday before classes, I'll either do it after classes or early Saturday- even if I have to drive down by myself. I hate having to constantly miss these awesome events because my parents bitch about them whenever I bring them up. -

As always, I'm iffy on Final Round. I know I can have the money for it by the time it rolls around, but the fact I'd basically have to miss a day of classes to head down there Friday reduces my chances significantly. -

And will the Blazblue tournament be changed to Continuum Shift Extend since it's scheduled to come out on February 14th? -

QFT. Also, do any of you know where I can find standing animations for KoF XIII characters? Google has failed me, and/or I can only find KoF XII sprites. -

Someone posted this in the Extend Release Date announcement's comments. There's a sad lack of Jubei doll, but I'm still hype if it's true. -

I should be free from around Noon-2 tomorrow if you wanted to meet up, Papstr. Just don't expect me to have improved at Mahvel any. XP Also, I'm bringing KoF, and you're playing it. This is mandatory. -

Haha, yeah, I have an exam tomorrow at 8 A.M. XD But I'm not worried, since I can make a 63 on the final and still make an A in the class. :3 -

Wow, I step out for a few hours to meet with a friend and the thread's increased by like three pages. How does this always happen? Naimat- I had a well thought out response in the works to your post a few hours ago, but it's a bit outdated now. Basically, the point I was going to make was that the entire matter is subjective. What makes a game "worth" the money is completely up to whoever's buying it. For example, I clearly wouldn't have a problem paying $80 for the game in a language I don't understand, but I wouldn't necessarily think you're wrong if you passed the game up for $40, either. Extend is geared to appeal to both veterans AND newcomers in the most cost-effective way possible. That's what it boils down to. Star- Read above. Like I said, it's completely subjective. Anyone can argue what they'd prefer, but if you take an honest look you can see why Aksys made the decisions they made. Midnight- I lol'd at "5 is close to 18." Good to have you back, I hope it stays that way. Just watch out- I'm kinda legit now. Still can't break air throws though. :P Astaroth- +1. Milln- Hope the holiday season hasn't been hitting you too hard at work. I know how much that sucks. :/ Doromac- I liek. What was the challenge though? Use all specials in a combo? -

Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum DO come on the disk. Naimat said buying them "again" in the sense of buying Extend with them on the disk after having bought them as DLC. You do raise a good point though. For people wanting to get into Blazblue, having two balance patches and four DLC characters (the latter of which they'd need to pay for) would complicate things and deter sales. Extend makes the medium easy for everyone, and when you really think about it, you buy the same characters all over again whenever you buy the latest iteration of a fighting game series. -

They couldn't make Extend DLC because there weren't any placeholder files on the disk for Relius. He wasn't planned like Makoto, Valkenhayn and Platinum. But let's be honest- even if Aksys COULD have implemented Relius as DLC for the disk version of Continuum Shift, they wouldn't have. They're a business, and they need money to keep things going. Everyone received the CSII balance patch for free, which was awesome fanservice, and they didn't get anything in return for it. From a monetary perspective, they need another disk release for Blazblue to make a profit. Just keep in mind that it's not JUST Relius, balance changes, and four new storylines in Extend. There's also the new-and-improved-and-actually-kinda-worth-playing Legion 1.5, Abyss Mode (which is kinda like Guilty Gear's Survival Mode), and Unlimited Mars (which will probably replace Score Attack as the most frustrating challenge). Compare this to Accent Core, which didn't add anything new AT ALL besides balance changes IIRC. And at least Aksys hasn't announced a new Guilty Gear game, had fans make progress in completing a version of the game you could play, then cancel the whole thing altogether. :/ -

Hey guys, Continuum Shift Extend just got a confirmed release date for February 14th on all consoles for the U.S. This links confirms it, and shows a real-life Jubei doll that I covet greatly. -

If that's the case and you plan on dual-modding your stick, I know a certain someone who'd be willing to buy that converter off you. *CoughStarcough* -

I'm with Naimat, I hate being crammed in the arcade. It drags things out only having a couple setups in a cramped space, and how noisy it gets in there can be distracting. If it can't be helped it can't be helped, but I'd much rather pay a more inflated venue for a better overall tournament. -
