  1. Blazblue and Xrd tournament at the Game Galaxy location in Smyrna, TN this Saturday, 11/19! BBCF starts at 1 p.m., and Xrd starts at 7 p.m. Additionally, SFV is at 3 p.m. and KOF XIV is at 5 p.m., if you might be interested in those games as well. Here's the event page: https://m.facebook.com/events/122839114855310 Also, quick reminder that the Middle Tennessee anime fighters group primarily communicates via Discord now, so if you're in the area and would like an invite please send me a PM so I can add you. Hope to see you guys there!

  3. It's also quick and non-committal with a very decent hitbox/angle to it.
  4. Also, unrelated, but I'm hosting an Xrd lobby right now! The lobby ID is "q5gt" Hope to see you all there!
  5. I dunno, I have mixed feelings about where we're currently at. On one hand, I wouldn't want people to drop the games they enjoy just to play the same game as everyone else - especially if they don't have fun with it. But on the other hand, I don't want everyone to be playing different games altogether, because then nobody feels like any game is worth practicing because there's no one else to play it with. That said, I think we need to approach things more like Milln did. We need three or four predetermined games to run in our monthlies, based on majority rule. That way, everyone will know well in advance what they need to be practicing for, and we'll get better turnouts because of the shared attention to multiple different games. Plus, that'd promote stronger fundamentals across the board, and invite more competitors our way. Right now, I'd say our main candidates for monthlies are as follows: - Guilty Gear Xrd - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R - Under Night In-Birth EXE Late - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax - Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax - Puzzle Fighter (Seriously) - Catherine (Also Seriously) If there are any others I'm neglecting, let me know and I'll add them to the list. Really though, I'd like everyone to vote on what they want to play most, and for us to come to a decision on what we'll be running for this month's tourney at least a week before then. If you guys think this is a good direction to take, please use the few seconds it takes to vote for your top three or four games. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have in mind!
  6. Dood, you know the guy has good taste when he expresses Guilty Gear, and when he has an avatar of/is named after a Valkyrie Profile character. Seriously though, welcome to MTNG! If you're looking to play and learn GG, you're in a great place to do it. The Nashville area is packed with some strong and very knowledgeable players, so I hope we'll be able to see you around meet-ups and tourneys often. Also, we have a Skype group that we chat on regularly now, so if you have a Skype and would like to join it, send me a friend request at jackie_chandler and I'll add you to it. Hope you enjoy your time with us!
  7. Ah, lame. Guess I should have ordered sooner. Thanks though.
  8. So just to clarify, is Elphelt free to download until December 17th for the Japanese version, or just the Hong Kong version?
  9. I'll be there! I can bring a PS3 with BBCP and UNIEL, and a 360 with P4A and KoF (though I know we don't have anything planned with those two games currently). I can also bring my capture card, but my laptop is still stuck at home and I haven't gotten a new one yet, so we'd have to use someone else's to record/stream. Also, IMPORTANT INTEREST CHECK. Would anyone play Project M if I brought a setup? At the weekly fight nights in Cookeville, it's been getting the most interest recently, so I'm just wondering if you guys would wanna play it. We don't even necessarily have to run a tournament for it - I'd be happy to bring a setup for it if people would want to play friendlies on it or learn the game. Please let me know, guys! I'd love it if the game could get some love, but I'd rather not lug a CRT there if nobody's gonna play or use it, haha.
  10. Yes, please. I miss Persona 4 Arena like a hooker misses an abusive spouse.
  11. I'd definitely like to see the new location some time soon, but not if that means we won't be able to play the cabinets we want. Maybe we can plan the Rivergate location for next time. I'll enter whatever anime games we run, really, and I would definitely appreciate the opportunity to run another Mystery Game. But if people aren't really into it, that's fine. I would also like to see KoF if at all possible, but if there's something else people would rather play, it'd be cool if we could discuss our options before tourney day. Oh, and I already asked to not be on-call for the last weekend of the month, so I know I'd be available that weekend. If the tournament takes place on the weekend before that, I can't guarantee my attendance, though if that's what works for the majority, I'll do my best to make it regardless.
  12. The time is "show up whenever." Preferably sooner. Cookeville has to leave this evening. :[
  13. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. If it's still in the cards, it definitely deserves a post here. Give us the deets, Star!
  14. I'd be okay with either myself. I just wanna see you guys and play games together again 'n stuff. ; A; Just a friendly reminder that UNIEL comes out in Japan on July 24th, which is two days before the last Saturday of the month. It'd be SUPER COOL if you guys wanted to get together and play a ton of friendlies and/or have a tournament for it. I'm sure I'll be buying the digital version, so I'll be able to provide a setup for it. Would you guys be interested in that?
  15. Ah, I see it now. I thought the two holes on the right side were an eye and a mouth at first.
  16. Has anyone noticed that thing behind Akihiko's head (and between Sho's thumb and index finger)? Is that a head?
  17. Here are the results for May 31st's Mystery Game (Rhythm Fighter from Rhythm Heaven Fever) in case anyone was curious. 1st - Jackie Chandler 2nd - Mr. Minionman 3rd - BRIT 3rd - Papstr 4th - Klein 4th - Tret 5th - D1C 5th - Volpe 6th - Phil 6th - Qoqonuts Also, I'm not gonna compete in my own Mystery Games any more, haha. It feels unfair. Hope you guys will be looking forward to the next one!
  18. Yeah, you should skip Boy's State and hitch a ride with us up to Game Galaxy!
  19. It breaks my heart to see you go, Milln. We're not only losing a great tournament organizer and the founding father of our community - we're losing a valuable asset, a wonderful member, and a good friend. That isn't to say I can't accept your reasons, though. As a college graduate, I'm all too familiar with people moving on with their lives, and I understand it's for the best. We owe you enough as it is already, so the least we can do is give you a respectful farewell. ... But not to being our friend, dummy! It's okay if you don't enjoy fighting games any more. It's even okay if you really don't want to show up to future MTNG gatherings. But you can't just call it quits on our friendships just like that! Stick around in the Skype chat, text us, and play other games with us. Just because you're not a member of MTNG any more doesn't mean we want to be rid of you. It's exactly the opposite! So here's to a fresh start, and new beginnings. We'll do you proud, Milln.
  20. I'd just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Shinx is the greatest Pokemon that will ever exist, and if you think different, you're wrong. Oh, and I hope to see people up at this Smash tournament in Franklin at The Score on May 3rd.
  21. Hope you'll be able to make it! Everyone here plays fighting games for fun, so don't worry about lack of knowledge/experience or anything like that. We typically meet on the last Saturday of the month, barring busy months like November/December because of holidays. Looking forward to seeing and playing you there!
  22. Haha, I totally agree. Things start out pretty heavy (perhaps a bit darker than the rest), but soon enough, the guitar riffs kick in and things get a lot more harmonious. Maybe the beginning's supposed to be representative of the hardship she's been through, and the latter parts are indicative of how much more confident she's become, particularly in her conviction (which may tie in with Zato-One's role in the story, but I don't know exactly what his deal is in Xrd, so saying any more would be pure speculation on my part). I dunno, it's just an excellent piece. I seriously can't stop listening to it. I hope ArcSys considers doing NAX samples like they did with BBCP. Oh, man. The search begins!
  23. Can we just take a moment and talk about how amazing Millia's theme is in Xrd? Here, I'll do you all a favor~. http://www.endlessvideo.com/watch?v=HuFWeppx1AE&start=53m30s&end=56m8s
  24. Maybe when you Dust, you hit above/towards the ground with such force that it picks the dust (and your opponent) clear off it.
