Most LCD monitors are at least 720p, you'd have to look up exactly what yours is though from the manufacturer. So yeah, if you wanted, you could get HD from your monitor if that's how you wanted to play. I couldn't stand SD tv anymore, so I went with my best approach of turning my computer into a gamer zone.
