VGA inputs are HD compatible. Everything I have is in 1080p. So, no worries there. HDMI is just a "cheaper" route. But not really. It only worked for me because my monitor has HDMI ports, if it didn't it wouldn't be worth the investment. There'll be a huge difference in SD and HD. Most tourney players won't play unless it's in HD anymore. SD has a fuzzyness to it which makes it look like I'm not wearing my glasses. I couldn't even read the SF4 move lists in SD. I'll take pictures of my set up if you'd like. Otherwise, you can just youtube something like "xbox 360 vga" and you'll get some results on how to do it.
