[CF] Naoto Kurogane Information/Discussion Thread
capsuletoyco replied to Tong's topic in Naoto Kurogane
instead of doing 5D dash cancel just do 6D dash cancel. It's easier because you can buffer the dash while doing 6D so there is no extra movement. You can do the combo off of 5A buuuuuut, you have to cancel into 2C ender from the DP so it whiffs and you land sooner. It also doesn't work on everyone, Jin for example no matter how late you cancel 2C after DP it will always hit him, but in exchange you can do 5A before he hits the ground. The best piece of advice I can give you is don't do your inputs super fast. I feel like this is the most common problem Naoto players are having overcoming the execution barrier. His combos really aren't all that hard if you just take your time and pay attention. -

New fun fact about shift sway phantom pain (learned in challenge mode no less...who knew it would actually be useful...) you can do 2147 and just hold A and you'll get phantom pain. You are essentially just TK'ing into it. I believe holding A while doing dash cancel from shift sway will increase your chances of connecting rekka after 6A. And if you haven't figured it out yet, Naoto has a kara throw like Ragna using 5B. -

If you're having trouble canceling rekka out of shift sway dash, you can try it two ways. Personally I find this way to be easier and it's how Kamikaze does it. 214 A 66 2369 b the reasoning behind it instead of just trying 236 b is that the 9 will prevent you from getting divine smasher instead of rekka. or you can do 214 A 2366 B which works just as well, but for me it feels weird. If anyone has any tips for landing dashing C en D dp ender on the corner combo that would be helpful. It's really the only thing I'm inconsistent on at this point and I just can't seem to figure out the correct timing. -

Nope, because when you do the 214 input for shift sway it holds onto the 2 so you just do 214 A 7 A -

If anyone is having trouble connecting shift sway into phantom pain in the corner, you can shortcut the input to 214a 7a -
On crouching opponents you can do 5b 5c 5d 2d 6d(dash cancel) enhanced rekka (dash cancel) C Inferno Crusader (delay 2c whiff) 5b 2c JC JC D Inferno Crusader for 4028. It's hard, but it might be easier than doing shift sway dc rekka for some people. edit: Forgot CH was on, it's going to do slightly less than 4028. I'm having a bout of stupid hands right now and get do it again. I haven't been able to make it work off of 6a yet, but maybe someone can.

It's easier because you have more time to get ready for the motions. Once you're used to doing them they really aren't that difficult. The only combo I have consistency issues with right now is 6a 5c 5d 2d shift sway banishing fang. Again what I have found to be the tricky part is just getting shift sway dash early enough so that banishing fang will connect, occasionally you'll get super if your inputs aren't clean.

You have to do the dash super fast, but honestly you can do an easier version of the combo by doing 5b 5c 3c shift sway dc 623 c 2c whiff(air) 5a 2c banishing fang launcher ender jc jc 623d. For dash canceling with other combos like the standard corner combo for example, you can buffer the shift sway dash super early in the 6d. While his combos are difficult, remember to be precise and methodical with your inputs otherwise your hands will get confused and you'll end up with random commands.

that's not what I'm talking about at all.

does anyone know why the Berial Edge whiffs half the time during this combo? corner 5b,5c,DID (2hits) 3c, 22c, DS, 5c, JC, BE, 5d, HF.This combo also works off of 6b... It's more consistent if you get 1 hit of DID, but it would be nice to get that little extra damage. It seems to be more consistent on ragna and characters with bigger hitboxes, but I've been unable to get it on Jin getting both hits of DID.

Corner combo on crouchers 5b, 5c, 6c, 6d, bloodscythe, 5b(delay slightly) 5c, JC, JC, Berial Edge, dash, 5c, 5d, 22c, Hell's Fang 4338 dmg +30 heat 5b, 5c, 6c, 6d, BS, 5b,delay, 5c, JC, JC, BE, 5d, 22c, HF 4223dmg, +30 heat Those are the two best corner combos I've found so far. They net the most damage and heat for pretty minimal effort provided you get the right starter. You could probably throw crush trigger in there somewhere to get a little more damage too.

Hello everyone. My name is Tim. I just moved from New Hampshire to Everett, WA. I look forward to meeting all of the local players. I play Blazblue: Ragna, Jin, Hazama. I can kinda sorta play Guilty Gear: Sol, Ky. I dabble a bit in Street Fighter, and Persona, but those really aren't my go to games.

there are actually a lot of CT colors coming back, like moy said, the red/black ones are back. i saw ragna had his blue jacket/blonde hair pallet, the pink and blue ct pallets for jin are back, pink ct ragna pallet is back. they do have some minor changes but are basically the same. -
