Tried net play yet? And is it any better, or still just as bad. I have no reason to believe it would be better but just in case they snuck in some improvement and did not tell anyone.

Awesome see ya there. I feel though that I am far from my prime in 2007-2008 was when I was at my best with Sol. But we will see. Hopefully Gear will see a revival of sorts.

First of all it's dubbed the R0B0T special, I am the most consistent sol player to use the trick. Here the video I made of it 5+ years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spAmGdr9tf8&feature=g-upl Also I hit kid viper a couple of times with it in this first to ten. http://www.twitch.tv/r0b0t2k/c/1715372 24:25 I hit kidviper with 5k>5s>R0B0T Special That is if you feel like watching the whole thing. Anyway if you can do it consistently it works really well. Players that are used to your block strings though will find ways around it, I.E. hold up. So you need to learn to be able to do other normals like 2p>2k>R0b0T Special hahah! 2D>R0B0T special. P.S. I was doing it before kurosuro or whatever his name is. Also negative edge is the secret to making this work consistently and lots of practice to get the muscle memory down. Also the whole it being dubbed ROBOT Special thing, just ask old school mid west. Simon yoo or Q or AKA. Hope the videos help. And ill be at NEC I hope to make it far in the GGXX tournament they will have there. hopefully it will be streamed! I plan on hitting many people with the trick. It works well on those not accustomed to it.

Your the only person who believes that.

I had one nasty message, but it was day 1, and since then I have not played much cause its hard to be excited to play when it so laggy online. Plus the people that are probably still playing after day one are seasoned vets mostly. Cause anyone who is trying to pick up the game has probably been too turned off by the lag to keep playing.
-
Yea, after I barely won my match against you online, I did not want to play again cause of how laggy it was. Its too bad we all cannot play against each other as if we were local. The Japanese are lucky they are located in a geographically small area. But I am sure we would have good matches if there were not Lag GGs SantaPoring. The lag is frustrating, like if I lost to you straight up in local I can handle that, but losing online when I feel like I cannot do anything is the worst. So sorry for not continuing to play. -r0b0t2k

How good were the games? Like lag wise? I guess with 40 games played must of been good.

Lets do something about the GGXXAC Netplay!

Well, I was trying that same area stuff, but I have not had a lot of luck with the search criteria every time I try and narrow down the search it almost never finds a match. ASW definitely could of done more for the game, that much remains true. -

I know your trolling me but the point of my little rant was simply this. No matter how efficient the net code and no matter how much bandwidth you have, all it takes is a bad route between you and your opponent to make your game super laggy. I am just trying to displace the misconceptions that net code or how much bandwidth you have are the only problems here. -

And its good you pointed out your on fiber, see your probably set up as a PVC(Private virtual circuit) The benefit of this is your not really sharing a medium even if 10 20 or 100 other people are on the same fiber line. So there are latency benefits there. Passed that your ISP must have a pretty decent back bone. But you have to remember most of the complaining is coming from Americans and our geographical layout is huge, we could get paired up against anyone from 150 miles away to 3000 miles away. And lastly the infrastructure in the European continent probably ranks higher than US. My point is this, the net code may be good enough for players in Japan or other countries whose geographical region is relatively small and the infrastructure is newer than the US. Which means Arcsys may not bother to fix it, or they may, we wont know until they announce they will or just do it. Lastly I have a 60Mbit(Down)/15Mbit(UP) Comcast cable connection, and while my overall bandwidth is great the amount of hops and different routing technologies my little UDP packet has to travel though to the opponent its a wonder this game or any fighting game is close to playable. Also where are you getting those latency numbers? I know you do not have a ping utility in your xbox to ping other xbox users with. And if your pinging your friends WAN IP address with a 32 byte ICMP packet then your mistaken on what your actual latency is. -

I think i played maybe 10-15 random matches against people and out of those maybe 3 or 4 were playableish. The best matches I had were when I set up a lobby with someone who lives in the same city as I and we played. But still I could not play as I normally would local. Also there is a lot going on here that people may not be aware of, I could go into specifics but there are too many variables to account for. Besides all of this though I believe ASW could of made it more playable than it is currently considering how well P4A and BB play online. But after playing GGXXAC plus on XBLA, I feel like they announced it in febuary and around maybe june they were like "hey didnt we promise the world GGAC for XBLA/PSN? We should probably start working on that." And then they rush out some rehashed netcode from #reload for the original xbox. It feels like the #reload xbox release all over again. -
Oh shit I did not know you were raekw0n, could not tell with all the lag. haha.
-
I know, but with the lag I was having a hard time reacting. So I was playing less risky.
-
Nope, it is not.

I saw you online and it had a 3 connection by your name, we should play and see how well or not well it plays. I am in Houston. Also GGs to wwGenius and Dr. Stormelock

There is a video on youtube, Koichi Vs Fab, and there is a tripple megido combo in the video. I am trying to do the combo. So I made my own video of attempting to do it, would you guys take a look and see what I may be doing wrong? And since its combo related I decided to post it here. http://youtu.be/i6kCctxIeJQ Also I know its console. I was just brain farting when I made the take. This Video shows both so you dont have to skim through Koichis video. After some suggestions on youtube, I was able to get the combo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLCsx3--_cg&feature=youtu.be I land it in this video at 47 seconds. Pretty sweet but you have to be real good about the timings and spacing.

Thanks for the insight, you are probably doing it right.
