  1. I don't know man, last time Arcsys gave a character weapons we ended up with Elphelt.
  2. Lol that's actually astaroth from soul calibur, not potemkin. I mean since when did potemkin carry an axe?
  3. Lol, well I didn't think anyone used this thread anymore.
  4. Hey guys, Ottawa's having another tourney on the 26th, gonna be a big one so hopefully since there's more notice this time, y'all can come through. Lots of new blood in guilty gear and we'd like to get some game against MTL, anyway here're the deets: The Algonquin Video Game Club is partnering with Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo to host a qualifier for their Canada-wide Street Fighter V invitational tournament in April! For more information about EGLX, click here: http://eglx.ca/Super Gonq Battles is happening on March 26, 2015 on the 2nd floor of the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons at Algonquin College. The venue opens at noon for casuals and registration is on-site only. Please send a message if there are any delays in arrival. The event is open to all! We are running Super Smash Bros. Melee at noon, Guilty Gear Xrd (PS3) at 2PM, and Street Fighter V (PS4) at 4PM. Every tournament game requires a separate $10 entry fee that contributes to the tournament winnings. There are no fees to enter as a spectator or play casuals; feel free to bring your friends! You must bring your own controller. Side tournaments will occur on-site if there is interest (8 people and the necessary equipment). We are looking for volunteer set-ups (monitors and consoles). 6. Sol vs Elph footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNPMiFdZ07E
  7. The impression I got against my friend was that his 2p was pretty good, he'd instablack my shot and then 2p me, however bear in mind that my shotgun pressure is HOT garbage, so that might have factored in. He also swept me, and unless my eyes were deceiving me it low profiled the shot. Anyway, gonna leave this footage here for future reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aSID9Ufb54

  9. Lol, this thread pretty much sums up this match-up for me, there're so few Chipps out there it's really difficult to get any kind of information.
  10. Check this video out, it covers a lot of basic info on how to play him. It helped me get started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOLkXM8EODs
  11. Thanks for the tips guys, I need to practice my IBing anyway, so ill start working on IBing it.
  12. But you see that's what my original question was, how exactly do I go about this? I tried 2S and 5S, but neither of them worked, he had enough time to block. Now I didn't IB, I'm still getting the hang of that, but if I do IB would 5S work?
  13. Yea I was a little confused by both of his suggestions tbh.
  14. On block? I'm pretty sure neither option would be feasible on block, especially since grim sever pushes back and elphs 6p is one of her slowest normals.
  15. So here's a quick question, can elphelt punish grim sever? I tried using 5s and 2s but neither was fast enough. Is it just not possible at max range?
  16. So there's this thing I've been seeing some pot players do where they whiff a sj. p on their opponents wake-up. An example is at 3:40 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=932q7NeTa0c Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of this? I'd really like to add some more tools to my wake-up game so I'm trying to understand why(and when) I should(and shouldn't) be doing this.
  17. Ah, I had no idea what elk hunt was and forgot to look it up. Thanks for that little bit of insight, ill try adding it to my game.
  18. Lol, didn't know it was possible to sub eddie. On a more serious note, since we can pretty much agree eddie is much harder than I-No, who would y'all say is on a similar level of difficulty as eddie in this game? Or whose like the second most difficult character to play? Off the top I'm thinking Venom, but I probably don't know what I'm talking about.
  19. Bout an hour and a half of FAB goodness. He's definitely making use of those potemkin buffs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u57qXK17380
  20. Hey so I just found out, at beak drivers max range you can actually slide head him and it'll low profile the beak driver. Just something useful to know. Also, his slide special move, can't remember what it's called, ias throwable, so if he ever uses it in a string that isn't clean you can just throw him out of it. Didn't test pot buster, but regular throw definitely worked.
  21. Yea, found out it was flickable by mistake last week, it's pretty hard to do, but least it's another option in the match-up. How do you guys punish his dp when you safe jump it? It usually do 2.s, 2.d because I'm usually too far for anything else, y'all got anything a little more damaging?
  22. I generally don't recommend mashing, but with heat extend I just mash it out. There's literally no downside(in my experience anyway).
  23. You hold down back while performing a j.s. It's the timing between knocking them down and performing the j.s that makes it a safe jump, I'm still trying to figure out the timing for Sols dp, but that's the basic concept.
  24. I guess this is pretty much 100% confirmation http://www.twitter.com/aksysgames/status/596353031534301184. Talk about some on the low type shit, I'd already given up on getting this patch before evo.
  25. Some new gameplay featuring FAB, almost 2 hours of matches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCE92KhMkMw
