So I'm curious for this set-up, in the video you had your S sword equipped, does the set-up change if the sword isn't equipped? Like should I got for 2.S instead of just raw S deploy? Also, is there a general rule for these set-ups in regards to whether or not you have the sword equipped? Finally, the main post doesn't have anything listed for setups after a mid-screen PPP ender. Does this just mean there aren't any at all? Or did the OP just forget to post the one's that exist? At the moment I do a HS sword set, but it doesn't seem to hold them down to let me really do anything else. -
In general, I hear 6HS is the best option for punishing backdashes, especially if you, unlike me, can actually HFB the HS consistently. Against potemkin, sin, and slayer the timing is a lil weird, I'm still getting used to it, but in general I think that's the best option. I've been messing around with option selecting a f.s into my j.s, if they back dash they get caught and you can 2d into another knockdown, if they block the j.s you get a c.s and can start your shenanigans. I haven't tested this one out enough though so I'm not sure how clean it is yet.

Also, get the hang of comboing into his 2d, once you've gotten that down start learning some oki. Oh and practice the shit out of potemkin buster, practice it on both sides of the screen. Practice till you can hit it 90% of the time in training mode.

Well what I've been using in the match-up is mega fist forward actually, obviously you don't just spam it all day but it was doing some decent work vs this sin I was playing. Other than that, on oki I double jump or backdash to bait out the dragon punch. Finally, if the sin tries to beak driver into food as a block string it's actually punishable with a slide head. Y'all probably know all of this, and some of it might even be wrong, but figured I'd share either way.

Damn, little disappointed to hear 5P won't be hitting crouchers, but glad to hear everything else. The air normal buff is pretty good since it turns every air hit into a corner carry and a knockdown. So if these are all the buffs our boy will be getting how do you more experienced pot players feel about him now? Doesn't sound like he got anything too crazy but at the same time it's always hard to tell with balance patches.

Probably my favourite match-up lol. Question though, how do you guys deal with Slayers who wake up backdash? I've started inputing an S into my j.S so if they back dash a f.S comes out and I can sweep them back into more mix-ups. Was wondering if anyone had anything better.

Yea, happened to me when I first started playing the game, really tried my patience. Of late I've been trying to learn to just air throw people for AA since it seems like an overall better option with 6P just being all kinds of awful.

I'm curious, why would 5P hitting crouchers be a big deal? I mean, I'm not complaining, I'd like for all my standing normals to hit crouchers, but what options does that open up for pot? j.k comboing into j.S is awesome though, now we can actually get combos off stray air hits. I'll take it all with some salt though since it isn't confirmed yet.

Apparently there's a loketest tomorrow(or today, not really sure anymore) which'll probably be the last one before the patch launches so fingers crossed we get something good. While we're on the subject, just out of curiosity, if you guys could change one thing about potemkin what would it be? AC slide head? knockdown on heat knuckle? 2.S vacuum?

Unfortunately the word from the loketests is trishura is still a very situational move in spite of all the buffs. They could be wrong in the long run though, I mean even the japanese can be wrong sometimes. On another note, good lord is 2S>HFB amazing. I finally started using it vs a friend last night and it seems really good. If I wasn't so free, and kept messing up my pbs, it woulda resulted in a lot of lost life for my opponent. Gotta add more of those HFBs to my pressure, shit felt really good.

Hey, so I need some help with my pressure. I've gotten the safe jump j.S down, so I blow up reversals and bursts, but once they block the j.S I usually just fall apart. The only real mix-up I have off a blocked j.S is 2.p, 2.k, hammerfall break, buster, and that's not even consistent since they're out of range of the buster more often than not. I'm just looking for strings that are hit confirmable into 2.d, but on block can be chained into something that'll keep the pressure on.

So here's a quick question, I was watching some FAB footage and he used this string(2P>2S>6K) a lot but I'm not entirely sure what purpose it serves. It doesn't combo on hit, so if for w/e reason the 2p hits the rest doesn't combo. I guess my question is why should I use that string? Is the 2P>2S like a frame trap?

Damn, who woulda thought pot would be getting nerfed. I'll wait and see before I start crying foul, but definitely didn't see that coming. Especially considering the seemingly irrelevant buffs he's getting.

Oh ok, doesn't sound too bad of a buff. It's gonna be hard to tell how all these changes affect our boy and his match-ups, but as a dude who played UMVC3 for 3 years without a single patch I must say it feels good to play a video game that you know is going to get tweaked every now and then.

I'm sorry, what is f.S? I'm assuming that doesn't mean forward slash, especially since pot doesn't have a forward slash. And it doesn't look like anything too crazy was given to our boy, oh well. Wonder how long it'll take before these changes(if these are even the final changes) hit consoles. At the very least, I hope trish becomes useful now.

Well I got my game at launch, but the colours are just showing up for download now(even though some of my friends got them a while back) so I think they're showing up later for some people. -
Omg I'm an idiot, I've been referring to the wrong normal this whole time. I actually meant 5K, I have no idea why 5P was coming to mind. But on the other hand you answered a question I was going to ask about 5P being used as an AA, so thanks for that.

Oh ok, ill remember that. So what's st.K used for? It has less range than cr. P and it seems slower(I might be wrong on this one) so I'm not really sure where I should be throwing this out. Lol, yea everyone told me 2S>6K hammerfall was "easier", but I guess that's all relative. Although I think I'm getting better at it, I've already gotten it like 4-5 times today whereas I only got it once in like an hour of practice yesterday.

Well there are a couple ways I know of, not sure how viable there are but here goes: 1. You do cr. p, k, hammerfall break, SPD. 2. st. K, cr. slash, f. k, hammerfall break, SPD. 3. j. slash SPD(you do this when you've conditioned them to block after a j.slash) 4. backdash SPD(really awesome "reversal") As for oki, well my oki game is pretty weak right now. I just go into either a j.slash or a st.K(depending on range and how much time I have) and then I either go into a string to knock them down again or a string into a hammerfall break. Now time for my question, so I'm getting the hang of f.k cancelling, but I was wondering if there was any reason to learn the f.k into hammerfall combo because the timing on that is a lot tighter than the wall splat combos. Like I get the cancel, it's just always like a frame late. And if I do, does anyone have any tips to make it easier? Like I'm holding back immediately after I press f.k but I'm still coming up a frame short. I definitely feel like there's something I'm missing here.

So cancelling a f.HS into hammerfall uses the same technique as cancelling a f.k right? Because I was messing around with it in training mode and it just never came out(I was getting the f.k into hammerfall break cancels though, so that's something) and figured I'd just check to make sure it was just my timing and I wasn't missing something important.
