  1. In Melty I really liked how Aoko had mines that she could leave on the screen, that would automatically hit the opponent if they touched them. She could do cool things like set up mines and throw the enemy into them for juggle combos, and seal off areas of the screen, etc. She also had some mines that you could hold and set off manually. I think its a bit of a shame that Rachel's lightning poles seem much more awkward to use and she doesnt have that kind of zoning gameplay. It might have been interesting if you could hold the button after 236A/B/C and whilst holding the button, the lighting rod will automatically go off if the opponent is touching it, or something like that.
  2. I dont think they will make balance changes for the console version, otherwise they would have done so for CT. (besides, usually people dont like it when home version differs from arcade). Save your prayers for a balance patch, i guess?
  3. It wouold kind of be funny (in a sad unfunny way:P ) if people discovered some sort of unbeatable tricks to do a bit of damage and then run away for timeout with Rachel. And she ends up being top tier in CS because of her unstoppable timeout game :P I dunno, like some way to wind high into the sky and then stay up there and unpredictably land with a poke or something...
  4. Reioumu gets turned on by seals! He's a furry!!
  5. Hi, I'm not a Bang player but just curious: Apart from FRKZ, does Bang get any benefit from having more/all seals?
  6. Looking at BBCS, I was curious about BB's future direction, and wondered if GG might provide some clues. BB has been stated as being much less technical, deep and difficult than GG. However, how does it compare to the very first GG game? Did GG merely get more technical over time/sequels? (and thus BB might as new features accumulate over many sequels). Or will BB stay simple as the developers make an effort not to alienate casual players?
  7. I really wish i could see some Tao h-dojins though... it would be interesting to see whether they try to draw the face in the proper way or if they wimp out and draw her like a human
  8. Really? I've never seen it outside of videogames and names though, in all my many years of gaming, manga and anime. Granted, i dont read mainstream japanese print media much... too much kanji...
  9. On a completely unrelated note, I notice BB does that thing where they have an equals between first and last names, like Noel=Vermillion, etc. I've seen it in other japanese games before, most notably Golden Axe Where does this convention come from?
  10. Heheh, well you're doing better than me, the only contact i have with Go is reading HnG :P

  11. Hi, you seem to know a bit about Go so I thought I'd ask you via pm. I assume that the amount of extra points given to white in different countries is also affected largely by tradition and other factors. So I wonder if anyone has statistically tried to work out the "correct" number of points mathematically? At the very least, for Go its somewhat easier than a FG, since you can just get two players to swap sides every match when collecting your data. (since players are expected to be able to play either colour). edit: hah, never mind, wikipedia :) Heh, it would seem that the different values in different countries also happen because their scoring rules differ. Its interesting that Go, poker, and other boardgames are heavily researched from a scientific and statistical perspective, and the Komi value seems to have been progressively adjusted over time in response to tournament results - exactly what I was talking about! :)

  12. Sounds like under that hood taokaka will look more like jubei than a human girl then? :P
  13. Is there actually a distinct term "grimalkin" used to describe Jubei/Kokonoe's species IN JAPANESE? Because Hakumen's line in the game "dont interrupt me!..." uses "bake-neko" which afaik is something like "you freak cat", and is more an insult than a technical term?
  14. I'm curious about this. Is this some sort of special case they put in? (ie. clap loop detected - kill nirvana). Or does the clap itself now cost some massive amount of meter in general, or what? I wonder if anyone can post on japanese forums to ask about it? Or if we can convince elvenshadow to go to the next loc test and keep an eye out
  15. I'm curious about how the clap loop was taken out. What mechanic did they change to prevent it? Not that we have anyone to ask who was there...
