Isnt that what Rachel players were saying during the BBCS loketests? -_-;
-
Boo. I want CT Tao back - where you can get decent bnb-worthy damage from easy combos, and the hard combos only get you a little bit more. None of this CS "omfg I cant even do her beginner combos!!" BS :P
-
I guess that's why they have the "auto" option ingame, so only character-based stages and music are available? (I've often wished for the ability to remove certain stages and music tracks from the random list tho)
-
Code is usually tiny to download. The big part is content, like if they have new story mode voice files, etc.
-
Although I also hope she has decent combos that dont involve drive cancels on hit. I find those hard too. Its sad that my Lambda can do 5BB > 5Cxn > 6C > 236B for almost 3000 damage, and I can barely get that with CS Tao on combos I cant pull off consistently >_>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCuv1U96Kqw I dont like how Tsubaki can now mash 5D to get meter. Whats the point in having it holdable if you can just mash it to gain meter faster? Maybe they should give 5D a long recovery time after you release the button, but make it special cancellable or something.
-
I guess they should give Tager some buffs that only high skill players can perform. Like Tager Taunt Loop :P
-
I hope they make her easier for beginners and onliners to play. Just give her some moderately damaging noob-easy BnBs, like she had in CT. Give her health again (seems like she will), and then I'm golden

Great thread, thanks a lot! One day to be completist maybe you might consider adding the loop enders into the post as well rather than referring to a different thread? Up to you
-
Shrug, you can say generalities like that, but I doubt anyone would argue against toning down the top 3 a little and buffing up the bottom 3 somewhat. I doubt many people would complain if that happened. Will it be perfectly balanced? Maybe not. But it will be closer to perfect.

When are good times to be using Spike Chaser? And what should I be thinking about doing afterwards?
-
Since Lambda died, any speculation on what will happen to her in the next game? Are they just going to introduce yet another clone murakumo unit? (how many of them are left anyways?) Or will she or Nu be revived? Or will she exist as a nonstory character, I wonder?
-
Can you jump cancel 6A? The challenge mode for this loop wants you to super jump cancel. Are there moves in BBCS where you can Super JC but CANNOT JC?
-
Whilst it seems others dont agree, I had always assumed Ragna merges with Nu, goes back in time to become the BB. He "holds back" the BB for a year from WITHIN the BB, perhaps costing him his human soul. So when Jubei and others talk about how heroic BloodEdge was, its tinged with irony/sadness since they are telling Ragna about his own sacrifice that he doesnt know about. That was my interpretation of it whilst I played the story. I havent gone back to double check all the facts so YMMV.

So are these story mode characters just NPCs, or are they supposed to be playable somehow?
-
2D~6 j.2D~C j.C D~A 9D~9 D~C j.C etc. Are you supposed to hit or whiff those D~C's and D~A's?
-
Thanks for all your efforts. Please let us know when you've reuploaded it? Also, do you think you could include the bonus downloads in the complete pack too? Or would that make it too big?
-
Hmm, I downloaded the complete sprite set from the first link, but 7zip reports that the file is corrupted? Am I doing something wrong? I tried getting the latest version 4.65 but still no luck.

Thats matsu vs. dennou, according to the title.
-
I'm pretty sure it is. I vaguely recall trying to do it at Box Hill and it didnt work.
-
Hahah, dora might be a girl, matsu might be a girl, etc.... the eternal fantasy of male gamers. Has there ever been a top level fighting game player (SBO, etc) who has been a girl? Much less an attractive one?
-
One thing I noticed about matsu in this vid thats different from other rachels is that he almost never misses a chance to Sword Iris. If his opponent is in front of a pole, he'll trigger it. Often in other rachel videos I'll be scratching my head wondering why they let people get away with standing in front of the poles all the time. Also interesting that vs. Bang he goes almost completely offensive, staying in Bangs face all the time, using backdash for avoidance instead of jumping away. Didnt do that against Litchi tho.. is it because Litchi has a DP?

My theory is that, at a noob/intermediate level, Tager wasnt as bad due to his huge damage from short combos/ single moves, and zoners at that level arent as skilled in keeping him out. Whereas a beginner/intermediate Rachel in CS is even further behind the rest of the cast, since she requires a fair bit of skill to achieve the minimal strengths she has left. Can you Rachel players comment on this madeup theory of mine?

The thing I've been thinking about is the "10 year game". I mean, Chess, Go, etc have been played with the same rules for decades. (with only minor additions like Castling). Sf2ST and Starcraft have been going strong for 10+ years, although Starcraft has received some pretty major patches during that time. The point is, these games are considered good enough so that people keep playing them despite newer and shinier competitors coming out. Also, the gameplay is so well understood at this point, and enough depth exists, that generally its possible to keep learning by exploring the current game. Theres no need for changes or a sequel to give players new stuff to learn. So is GG close to this state? What if they made the "10 year" final definitive version of GG (as in, "You will keep playing this for the next 10 years!"), which is just a rerelease of the last GG gameplay-wise, but updated with modern nongameplay features (eg. ggpo netcode), and maybe updated graphics? Would GG fans be happy for a final version to be played forever with no more sequels or changes? Is it better to play a "perfect" but static game (eg. KOF98, GGAC?), or a "imperfect" but living, ongoing, changing series of games? (eg. BBCS+, KOF12+). Certainly in the KOF world, sequels have generally just made things worse. I personally would have been quite happy if the series froze in gameplay at 98, and they spent their efforts for the past 10 years upgrading the sprites to higher res and adding more frames of animation (and ditching neogeo early) rather than wasting it redrawing Athena every single game or adding strikers and stuff. Different mechanics like KOF11 could be done as a spinoff series. Certainly, 98 is still one of the most popular versions, so its not like players actually wanted new versions that badly. So, what do you guys think on this issue, with respect to GG and BB? I'd probably prefer if we ignore the economic realities and focus on what we want as gamers and fans. Edit: hahah, and in the very next thread theres all of you begging for exactly that, I missed it because I dont check the GG subforums :P

Well, I'm not going to waste bandwidth with "I said, you said" games. We seem to be on similar pages, just that there was a misunderstanding due to me maybe not explaining myself well enough in my first post. My second post clarifies my position a bit more - basically standardise as much as you can whenever there isnt a gameplay reason not to. I mostly made assumptions based on "GG being a more advanced BB" so my points mostly reflect the hurdles a beginner faces when getting into BB. (so not the beginner->intermediate learning curve, but the never saw game before -> beginner learning curve.) Which presumably applies to GG as well, but you guys can tell me if it does or not. Anyways, I've said all I have to say on those particular things, so we can agree to disagree if you still have disputes.
