Alright well I lost my match:gonk: Unfortunately it was mostly due to my own lack of technical ability rather than flawed strategy that landed me in the losers spot. Zoogs I don't expect you will have too much trouble with Sage of Rave. The Super Jump would get me in fairly well, I hardly used Vivace. In the second match I was able to get him in the corner fairly easily, just double jump and block like you guys said. Edit: Here's the vid, courtesy of Skye. Alright seeing as my first match in the 3x3 tournament is with Nu, I have come in search of tips. I've been practicing a bit against Pisces Albafica, but I keep getting shut down. Whats a good way to approach Nu when she's playing keep away? I've been mixing up 236B and IAD Kara. Otherwise I'll just stay back and do 41236]D[, or if Ada is close enough I try and get a counter hit with 6]D[. Thanks!

Haha, I'll do my humble best. Also, what would be a good alternative to the throwloop after 2C->8D xN. I have given up on learning the throw loop considering that it was removed in CS. Thanks!

Thanks for the matches tonight zoogs, they were a lot of fun! I still need to learn Carls BnBs. Right now I sort of just come up with stuff as I go.

That depends, I got an SFIV standard stick on ebay and switched out all the parts with Sanwa ones. You can find parts for sticks here. If there is one character that needs a stick to play well, I would say Carl is the one.

I use a stick. It took a couple months to get used to it and I still have a bit of trouble with inputs for supers (236236, 214214, 632146) but I would say that it improved my game dramatically.

Part of me really likes the fact that Carl is a glass cannon, while on the other hand I can see where his gameplay ends up feeling monotonous. Can't wait to try out CS.

No, JamesWalton wasn't able to play, something about not letting him connect. Which was a shame because our matches were great fun even though the outcome was somewhat obvious haha.

I do the same thing, it's very annoying; it's what keeps me from getting ground loops down. Also great matches earlier guys, I'm gonna go ahead and say that Akiro should take the spot. His execution was spot on and it felt like he always knew what he was doing. All in all our matches were really good. Sorry I didn't have a mic, I was using a stick.

Ok I just got a message from Mascarpone and he's in! So the list of nominees for the low level Carl spot in the 3x3 tournament is as follows: Akiro JamesWalton Mascarpone Prophet If you are on the list it would be helpful if you could post times that you are available this weekend (11/20-11/22). Mascarpone won't be available for all of next week so I feel like this weekend is an ideal time. Ideally I would like for you to be able to donate at least an hour of your time with this, however if extenuating circumstances arise, I understand. Keep in mind that the less time you spend in the room, the less we can judge you on. I was thinking that maybe after a few rounds of mirrors we could let in a random and all take a turn on him. This would give us more insight as to how each player handles various situations. I also thought of a few potential rules to abide by when choosing a nominee, I would appreciate feedback on these as I just though them up. Firstly, do not choose yourself.If you truly believe that you were the best, trust that the others will recognise this and choose the you. Two after one round of voting I would like to reveal the votes and have a discussion regarding them. Hopefully this way we can all agree on one winner even if they were not your first pick. And lastly you WILL have fun. This will be strictly enforced and is absolutely MANDATORY. Once again I look forward to your input (Kyle if you have anything to mention I would appreciate it) and our matches to come! (Sorry for the wall of text, it's probably a bit long winded and riddled with grammatical errors, but I don't feel like re-reading all that at the moment)

Well I'm waiting on a message from Mascarpone to see whether or not he wants to participate. After I get a reply we can start getting things rolling for us low level Carl nominees. Ideally I would like to get us all in a room at once but I'll see what works out.

Certainly! I'll add you to my friends list tonight when I get home from school. I'm still waiting to hear from Mascarpone so the date is tentative. Once I get everyone's GT we can try to work something out. If we simply can't all play together due to time zones or whatnot, we can split up into two groups and then have the winners battle it out. Like Kyle said, we aren't really going by win ratio here, tactics and overall strategy are what we are really looking for. Besides win ratio in a room full of Carls doesn't mean much when there won't be any to fight in the tournament.

I'll grab their GT's tonight and try to set up a time when we can duke it out. If any latecomers wanna join just let me know!
