  1. Actually, I want to change mine to 3 vs. 3 too. Got one more friend to tag along. :o
  2. :D Maybe I'll enter as RoboMashThat5A this time.
  3. This will be my first visit to NL in like a year! I expect to get bodied in both BB and P4A.
  4. Did Bang just jump cancel his blocked 5B into swallow moon into falling j.C? Seems like a decent option but... I wish his swallow moon was TKable too.
  5. Are there ways to combo into 2D somehow? Getting 4 seals for that new super might be hard since 2D is... kinda hard to land as a starter and we need to land all D moves for all seals. Every other D move seems possible to combo into, but I don't recall any combos that have 2D in them unless it's used as a starter? Or is my memory just bad? :v
  6. Huh, I guess I'm lucky.
  7. One important thing to do is to NEVER help out with someone's gameplay unless you know for sure they want to learn more or if they explicitly ask about it. Don't start telling them what to do. Everyone I play with (except 2 guys) locally is casual, so I make sure I just have fun and not tell them anything. I go easy, use characters that I'm not familiar with, etc. My two other friends who do play seriously tend to try to teach others how to play and... it just sounds annoying and naggy. And they usually tell me afterwards how elitist/stuck-up they sound, even though they were only trying to help. Like mAC Chaos said, most people are casual players and they will not appreciate your feedback, even if it is constructive. So yeah, fix your attitude and... try to find people who are either serious or are willing to learn the game.
  8. I hope this is a straight forward question, so here goes. Let's say that I'm playing as Jin and I'm pressuring my opponent. I do 5B, 5C then jump cancel into j.B and j.2C and blah blah blah. They would naturally see me jump after 5C and block high, right? Why is it that if I were to jump cancel 5C, do nothing, then air-dash before I land and do something like j.2C and j.D, it works more often than it should? I think Ragna has something similar where he ends his corner combo with a 3C and jump cancels that. If the opponent neutral techs, Ragna can airdash j.C, j.D and pick up a combo from that because the opponent would usually be blocking low. Why is it that most people end up blocking low if the pressuring opponent does the airdash low to the ground and do an air normal? Is it similar to how sometimes you would do a landing j.B as Ragna and go straight into 6B since most people are trained to block low? Or is it because when you air-dash before you land, people think they should block low because enough time has passed for them to block an air normal while standing up, and it's time for them to block low since they had enough time to land and do a low attack? Another thing I don't get is how running into the opponent and then doing a DP or a throw-invulnerable move works. Like, I would land a 3C knockdown as Jin, the opponent techs, I run into him for about a second, then do a 6B. The opponent usually tries to throw break and I jump over that and land a CH 6B. Or I do the same thing as Ragna but do a DP instead. Sorry if I'm making these questions more complicated than they already are. I want to know exactly why a lot of people fail to counter these even though they should be really simple to block. Like, the mindgames behind these mix-up tricks?
  9. I always end up facing the toughest opponents first. Good games though, definitely fun. Especially with the two Bang players that I played a lot with. Tsuuna and... I never asked the other guy for his name. Definitely a learning experience... makes me want to learn more of Carl now, heh. I'll beat you one day, Troll Badguy!
  10. Wait... how does the command grab work to punish quick techs? I've seen his setup where he does a whiffed command grab after j.C into C nail to attempt to catch rolls or to continue pressure, but... I'm afraid I don't know how that one works. I just love how stylish it is.
  11. Ah, I see. I figured that high jumping was necessary, but I didn't know about omitting all air normals after the second jump cancel. Is this kind of oki better than the standard j.C oki? Like, what are some pros/cons?
  12. What are some corner combo enders that allow Bang to do a second j.C as he's landing? These combos usually have him fly up high as he's doing the first j.C that gets him the knockdown, then he can hit with another j.C on his way down if the opponent chooses not to tech. I think Dora uses these a lot but I'm not sure...
  13. I nominate miss_green_jeans.
  14. One spot away from being top 3, so close. Ah well, it was fun. I don't think I've ever seen NL so crowded and hot before. Can't wait for Extend.
  15. I've been to like 3-4 tournaments so far and it's pretty cool, I think. The entire anime fighting game community of EC seems like a giant tsundere to me.
  16. Will playing Carl in CS2 help me prepare for CSE? I mean, I'm still getting used to his gameplay (still way too mashy...), but I've been catching up on some old games since CSE is just around the corner.
  17. An online game that was dying out. I might need to start using "I don't care." instead of "I don't mind." more often though. It seems that as I get older, people tend to take "I don't mind." as an invitation for them to keep going on and on about their lives. I mean, I love listening to people, but sometimes I just don't... care. German is another language I want to try learning. But I want to be fluent in Spanish and Japanese before moving onto something else. But you're still fluent in French, right? Like, you can read/write it perfectly? And as long as they can understand what you're saying and you understand what they're saying, things are good? Would you prefer to speak French the French way then? I have an Asian friend who can speak fluent Castilian Spanish. He told me that people who use Mexican Spanish tell him that he sounds condescending and royal. I learned Japanese the same way! Actually, since my native language is Korean (which is similar to Japanese in many ways), it wasn't too hard for me to get used to nuances and quirks (sentence structures, uses of honorifics, cultural similarities, etc.) of the language, although I still don't understand most words. Most summer courses tend to be harder than fall or spring courses since the same amount of material is covered in a shorter amount of time. But getting a lot of credits is good, I'm trying to graduate in three years myself since my tuition is... really expensive.
  18. I always considered Dio to be the Dora of Carl players.
  19. I have RS for Japanese AND Spanish and... it doesn't seem too terribly useful for me. Maybe it's because I'm too used to traditional way of learning things so this more "natural" approach that RS uses seems too foreign for me... But I think you should definitely keep trying! Latin names are awesome! I briefly made a group named Renascibilitas online but it never became too popular because no one could spell it and... the group really had no purpose or goals. Most personal significant words tend to be mundane to most people I think. For example, I avoid using the phrase "I don't care." I always try my best to say "I don't mind." instead since they mean the same thing (at least to me). But to most people, they probably... don't care. You should definitely take Spanish at school! I can kinda understand how your friend feels since English is my second language as well. While I don't really feel nervous using it anymore, using my native language does make me feel more comfortable and relaxed. Besides, Spanish is still one of the most practical languages of the world. French is really hard to pronounce, right? I have a friend who's fluent in French and English (English is his second language, learned it from playing video games) and his English accent is really adorable. Never heard anything like it. Probably because he learned English from video games.
  20. Matching names are awesome! It's really hard to find anything that's NOT taken on PSN though... I'm bilingual now, but I wish to become fluent in Spanish and Japanese before I'm done with college. ^^
  21. Sure! I'll get on this weekend to confirm. I don't speak French unfortunately, but my friend and I decided to have matching PSN accounts years ago, and Bienveillant/Malveillant was one of the fewest pairings left that we could use. I do like the French language though, I wish to learn it eventually.
  22. Eastern Standard Time here. My PSN is Bienveillant.
  23. Thanks for the fast responses! I live right on the other side of George Washington Bridge. 10 minutes away from the bridge by walking. Where do you guys live?
  24. Hello guys, decided to main Carl for EX. I've been subbing him since CT, but I've finally decided to make him my main. I don't play online yet, but I will once EX comes out over here in America.
  25. How do I stop mashing 6D on wake-up?
