  1. Might just be me, but (trying to) learning I-no is really improving my execution skills. Through if you want to learn someone for comp. purposes, then I believe Axl might be a good choice. IIRC, he has good match-ups against the right characters, which is a reason why I main him.
  2. Seconded. Also, I vote to hold daisuke's loved ones ransom until he makes the new GG.
  3. Too bad I don't really care if he can kick my ass in GG. I am interested in improving though so I'll be there playing casually if I can make it. Also, the extra two dollars isn't that much of a concern, I'm just very frugal. Also, I'd be interested in playing BB if it's there. No, I don't like the game too much, I just feel bad for never playing it.
  4. Is the 2 bucks just to enter the store and play casually? Cause I'm not sure if it's worth it to pay traveling and entering fees to get my ass beat. Other than that, I'm interested.
  5. Everyone, please stop killing each other before the thread gets locked.
  6. Without nuking the engine clean? Well with the way the new fighters are "evolving" in the current day environment, it's... not likely that the next GG won't be altered in some way to make it more... casual friendly... ugh. So, While we still have a long way to go before we get another gg, we might as well post our thoughts on how GG can be changed to make it easier to pick up without gutting it in the hopes that Aksys is still reading this forum. Not being a pro myself, I can't really think of many ways to make the game easier though I can think of one thing off the bat: lengthening the FRC windows. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean allowing people to FRC moves earlier as that could lead to balancing issues, but I can't think of an example of a move that would be made broken or even better if you could FRC it later than currently possible. Your thoughts, guys?
  7. Okay, I'm curious. What exactly did I do to deserve this tone? Particularly since I in several posts made it clear that I do not know the details involved in was merely throwing out a suggestion/question. That said, thanks to the people who answered my original post without being a jerk in the process.
  8. True, at this point in the game of not making a guilty gear, it would be hard to justify throwing out accent core outside of a DLC with online sort of thing. Though at this point, I'd take that over well, you know.
  9. Before I answer the responses to the thread, I again admit my lack of expertise in the skills required to understand the potential problems with implementing my idea. Of course I myself won't be doing it, else I'd be ripping in my free time as we speak. To answer your question, I believe that assuming that scrubblue is economically successful and arksys doesn't increase the size of the company, we'll be stuck with scrubblue for a long time, with long being defined as more than 3+ years. That said, I'm of the belief that this theoretical project could be done with plenty of time to enjoy the fruits of the labor. @point one - I'd like to know the reason why it can't be in any reasonable amount of time. :8/: Also, people make emulators, translate manga, anime, and games, create software, characters and code all for free already, why would ripping code from game A to game B be any different? @point two - Again, why not? :8/: That, and money makes strange bed fellows, I hear. I myself once freed from scrubblue as well as the ps3 would be willing to pay like a hundred or so, after I get the job that would have payed for the scrubblue plus ps3. I mean come on, it's GGAC online we're talking about and we're on dustloop, I'm sure there's other people willing to provide compensation. @point three - I haven't been keeping up on the project, but last I checked (like two/three months ago), the dev. was no where near completion. Even if the project was near completion, my idea would still use less resources due to not needing emulation.
  10. I had a feeling that this deserved more of an explanation. @1 - AC came out in 2007 (2006 in japan) and at this point is likely not being manufactured at this point, while AC plus was released in 2009, ergo Arcsys less likely to care about AC plain. @2 - Hmm... yes and no. In a nutshell, the idea is to take mugen, mod the hell out of it until it plays exactly like AC, make it closed to editing for obvious reasons, and then give that online support. I think this could be a great idea if possible because it would allow us to bypass emulation normally needed to play the game on the pc thus reducing the power needed to play the game and could make doing online easier, though I could be wrong on that. @3 - see @2 @4 - Not currently. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. @5 - Again, see @2 I think this'll answer the initial questions. Someone will surely let me know if it doesn't. I'm gonna edit the first post as it's likely misleading.
  11. Hi guys, here's a thought I had this mourning. Warning, it might suck. So I was thinking with MAME emulation progressing slowly last I heard, it doesn't look to me as if any form of emulation => game => online sort of set up will be viable, yet alone have a satisfactory result any time soon. So then it it hit me. Now hear me out, mugen is an engine built to be able to support a wide variety of 2d fighter mechanics, from super meters and guard meters to bursts and coins. Granted, mugen is normally a very unbalanced fighter due to the very concept of putting characters against characters their original designers never intended for them to fight, yet alone the broken monstrosities that run wild in many of the versions of mugen. That said, perhaps we're going about obtaining the holy grail known as online GGAC the wrong way. Perhaps it isn't required that we find the probably impossible solutions to the problems caused by emulation => game => online. Perhaps, it is possible to make the problem simpler. Perhaps, we could reduce this dreaded equation down to game => online. How is this possible? Well if I recall correctly, the need for emulation seems from the fact that the emulated games were not themselves designed to be played on the PC. If said games were designed to be played on the pc, then emulation would not be necessary. What does this have to do with MUGEN? Well unlike GGAC, mugen was designed to be played on the PC. Not only that, but it is also light on recommended specs, likely due to it's very concept, allowing to it to be played on low-end systems. For instance, An associate of mine was able to play it on a crappy laptop that took forever to copy 100 mbs of data. Putting this all together, what does this have to do with GGAC? Well, if it is possible to modify every mechanic, nook, and cranny of mugen to perfectly resemble GGAC, then the community would have a PC version of GGAC that doesn't require resource devouring emulators. Now with a PC version of GGAC available, it should be a far simpler matter of giving the game GGPO, which I believe is something that everyone could appreciate. Now to admit my own faults, not only is my expertise in the subject of emulation and GGPO does it's online limited, but I'm also not sure if any this is possible or how it would be done or etc to infinity. However, wouldn't it be awesome if it is? Thoughts?
  12. There frogging should be. Edit: tried to go check the arksys forum for such a thread, but my computer was being douche and wouldn't let me. :/
  13. Do it. Then you're free to make scrubblue the next loli-wannabe-DOA crap that the weeabos will buy in spades while the legit players enjoy a good and tourney worthy game.
  14. Hey, It's past 6:30 pm. Are you doing tournament today or what?

  15. Thanks, guys. Just to give some activity, someone could make an argument that this isn't GG specific, but whatevers. Anyway, as someone trying to get better at GG (cause it's gonna get a sequel/on GGPO at some point ), I trying to relate frame data to the real world for purposes of obtaining a better understanding of how long actions take in GG. That said, would anyone know what occurs in the real world in 1/60 of a second?
  16. Well, after 20 or so more minutes of googling nemo and tier list plus GG:AC (spelled out) the best I got that wasn't on this site was some crappy match-up chart that had Slayer placed lower than Axl. However, hearing that the latest chart -wherever it is - is one guy's opinion (not saying that said guy isn't good) kinda dissuaded me, so I'll just stop here. Thanks for the effort anyway, guys.
  17. While I hate for my first post on this board to be a question (if it makes ya'll feel better, I'm posting a real topic soon), this is driving me absolutely nuts. Would anyone have a copy of the most up-to-date match-up chart for accent core that I could copy? My google-fu has failed me.
