  1. Nah, just practice random strings, it's not like your opponent is going to be going for the same thing over and over.
  2. Yeah, I would record some common block strings and randomize them. Sparring with the AI helps a bit but you're probably better off just practicing blocking common, randomized strings.
  3. I don't mean to be a douche but come on, use your brain a little and do a little research lol. It depends on what you and your opponent's options are after the IB. I don't play GG as much as I should so I'll use an example using BB. Jin's 6B is normally +3 on block, you IB it and now it's 0 on block. It can only be special canceled, so if you're playing as someone with a fast jab, your best be is to jab him out. There are too many variables to consider and there is not an absolute answer to every situation, so just go with what you think the best option is at the time. Consider the following... Can the move I IB'd be canceled into something else? Do I have a move that's fast enough to beat whatever might come next after the IB? Is this is a good place for me to IB > DP/Reversal? Will the following move catch me back dashing or jumping back after the IB? Can I punish this move on IB?
  4. The IB timing window varies from game to game, check the DL wiki for more details: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page It really depends, it's easier to IB moves if you know that the opponent will cancel X move into Y move. Let's say for example Jin goes into 5B in his blockstring, I will push down+back (1) while in block stun to IB a potential 2B/5C. Normally you want to "predict" what move your opponent will cancel into and push back while in block stun to IB the potential attack. Other times you want to IB moves if your character doesn't have an answer to them in that specific situation. Let's say Bang JCs a move, jumps over me and tries to hit me with j.4B and I'm playing as Jin. I don't have an answer to his j.4B other than a yomi air throw or a DP, so my safest bet at that time is to just IB the j.4B. You want to always IB multi-hitting moves such as Nu's C moves.
  5. I wouldn't know how to measure height lol. It really depends on what you used before getting to 623C > 5B. I'm gonna make a corner combo tutorial either Sunday or Tuesday, the mid-screen combo tutorial is up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKfSrG7rJk8
  6. It's good extra damage nonetheless, my only gripe with it is that the link from 22C into 66 j.B is relatively tight but practice makes perfect.
  7. @fruits_punch95 Best combo from 5B > 5C > 3C > 623D would be ... 623D, 66 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 6C > 623C, 5B > 22C, j.2C oki. (3.9K damage, can get more if you go for air combo after the last 5B) From 5B > 5C > 6C on a crouching opponent would be 5B > 5C > 2C > 6C > 2D, (delayed) 66 5C > 2C > (delayed) 6C > 214B~C, 66 2B > 5B > 22C or Air Combo. (3.4K off 22C finisher, 3.7K with air combo). From 5B > 5C > 6C > CT assuming you're in the corner... CT, 6C > 6D, 5C > 2C > 6C > 623C, 5B > 22C, j2C oki (4.4K, more damage with air combo, etc.)
  8. Keep in mind, that combo is character specific and only works on the taller characters. @Laow - depends on the starter, if you do it from a throw starter you're not getting much more out of it.
  9. Plat is actually not that bad in this version, she might be low tier but she's not in the "can't win with this character" tier. Take it from a Plat main (sub-main?) who has played her since CSII.
  10. I'm not bothering with that combo, the timing is too tight for my taste. I just stick with Stuff > 3C > B Persia, 5C > 6A > 22C, 66 6A > 6C > j.236C > j.C, 66 6A > 236B. It's about 200 less damage but it's a lot more consistent.
  11. The Platinum combo bible by Inu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSE3PzXqnzY&list=FLSh5jJYogoBoVX3Yd6rBKwg&index=1 Some of those combos are execution/timing heavy but this is probably gonna be as optimal as her combos get.
  12. I'll fill out the OP later but there are some things you must know about this character: Her 6A hits both high and low but it's punishable on block and can't be followed up without meter. The 1st his is an overhead and the 2nd hit is a low. However, if she spaces it correctly she can whiff the 1st part and hit you with the 2nd part, meaning that if you were expecting the OH you'll be hit with the low. Her 214B hits high but it's punishable on block with 5B if she used it close enough to you. Her 214C is punishable with 5A/5B on IB only. Her 236C has head invulnerability on the normal version and full-body I-frames on the charged version. You can punish the normal version with a 5C CH if you were a bit close to the ground after you barrier blocked it. You can bait and punish the charged version with the same OS you would use against Jin's 623C. If you don't know it, that OS is 2A~4B; if she uses 236[C], your 2A will whiff through the start-up and you'll recover in time to block and punish it. If she doesn't use it, then your 2A simply gets canceled into 5B, which also helps with catching forward rolls. If your confident in your ability to hit-confirm, then you can simply just do 1A and do whatever you want afterwards. Her beam super can be countered with Yukikaze. Her reversal super can't be punished but you can at least get some Heat for IB'ing. Just make sure to block the other way after you block the first hit in order to IB the other hits since she crosses you up. Highly doubt this will ever happen but her healling super can be punished with 214D or Ice Wave full screen.

  14. Just found out that most of Plat's pogo combos don't work on stupid Noel (and Celica). That bitch's hit-box has made a lot of Plat's BnBs drop since CSII. Do any other characters have problems doing combos on Noel? God I hate this character so much (since the days of CT).
  15. The mid-screen combos section is pretty much done, just need to add a few more OD combos. I will get the corner combo section done on Saturday but here are a couple of useful corner combos: 2A/5A > 5B > 5C > 5D > 22C, 66 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C 5B > 5C > 5D > 22C, 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 214B~C N > 5C > 623D, 66 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 214B~C (use this one if you're really close to the corner) N > 5C > 3C > 214D, 66 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 214B~C (use this one if you're not that close to the corner) TK j.214D, 66 2B > 5C > 6C > 6D, 66 22C, 66 5C > 3C > 214B~C [CO/AA/CH] (5B) > 5C > 6C > 6D, 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 214B~C Throw > DC, (d)66 5C > 2C > 6C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 214B~C 22C FC, 66 6B, 66 5C > 6C > 6D, 6C > 6D, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 3C > 236[D] (for mix-up opportunities against opponents with no reversals) 22C FC, 6C > 6D, 5C > 2C > 6C > 214B~C, 2B > 5C > 2C > 623C, 5B(1) > 5C > 2C > sj.C > j.214C (damage) Ice Car knockdown 2 gud
  16. I actually feel the same way, this Jin is easily the shittiest Jin in the history of BB. Like you said, sure he's still strong but losing his corner stuff really makes him feel bland. I mean 3.8K off 5B with 25 Heat is awesome, but not enough to warrant him to losing his corner game in the process. I'll keep playing him because I just love how his normals work and feel. Platinum feels hella sluggish in neutral compared to Jin. 214B~C combos and mid-screen TK Hizangeki confirms are still pretty sweet though.

I suppose I could buy an USB hub and plug in my keyboard but ain't nobody got money and time for that.
  18. No prob, that combo is a bit tricky, I still mess it up from time to time lol.
  19. The easier variation to that combo is... 6A RC, 66 5C > 2C > 6C > 2D, (delayed) 66 5C > 2C > (delayed) 6C > 214B~C, 2B > 5C > Air Combo Basically you have to delay the dashing 5C as much as possible and then slightly delay the last 6C after the 2C. You might have to omit the first 2C to get the air combo to work properly, I'll test it when I get home tonight.
  20. Not really, only if you want to go for 22C knockdown (66 2B > 5B > 22C) @ Dawn of Musou - combo timers and hitstun decay is more strict in this game. Things that worked before off certain starters no longer work in this game.
  21. Full health ODC combos: Damage: N Starter > 5C > ODC, (66) 5C > 6C > 2D, (delayed) 66 5C > 2C > 6C > 214B~C, 66 2B > 5C > Air Combo Oki: N Starter > (66) 5C > ODC, 5C > 6B > j.214C, 66 22C, 66 j.B > (delayed) j.2C, 5B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C The oki variation is a lot harder to do, you might as well just go for the 66 2B > 5B > 22C finisher as opposed to the air combo from the damage combo and not worry about character specifics (100 less damage).
  22. These 214B (whiff) ~ C combos are a bit tricky, gonna have to grind them for a bit before I get them down. I also noticed that they nerfed the ODC duration. In vanilla you could do stuff like 5B > 5C > ODC, 5C > 6B, > 5C > 6B > j.214C, j.2C > j.C, 66 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C for 3.7K at full health and now with the shorter ODC you have to just go straight into 5C > 6B > j.214C. I'm sure there are better ways to squeeze damage out of what little time we have with a full health ODC though. Oh and glorious blast from the past Hizangeki combo: j.214D, 66 2B > 5C > sj.C > j.D, AD > j.2C > (delayed) j.C, 5B, 3C > 214B~C
  23. We lost our j.D gimmicks and we lost our 6D gimmicks, they just want to use to win the good old honest way, huh? I'm sure people will figure out some gimmicks using OD.
  24. Patience is a virtue... which I do not possess. I'll have the game up and running by 9 pm tonight. I wonder what nets you more damage, 6C > 6B, 5B or 6C > 6D, 5B? I also wonder if you can get more damage by doing the 6C > 214B(whiff) ~ C route than by doing the DP C route. I'm probably gonna neglect my Jin mod duties for a bit and mess around with Plat first though, she looks much too fun in this game lol.
  25. Critique My Jin Be open-minded and do not flame too hard or get too defensive for getting critiqued
