  1. What are you doing in the Jin boards, git outta here. Might as well be relevant and ask a quesion. Which knocdown nets more frame advantage, a DP C knockdown, a 22C knockdown, or a 214B~C knockdown?

  3. You might wanna skim through the combo thread next time before asking... Basically anything that leads to an air combo: ... j.S > j.D > IAD j.S > j.H (3) If you're too far from the opponent to launch them with 2H into air combo, then you just do whatever into 5H > 2D.

Challenge mode had a pretty decent corner dust combo: D > Dash > 6HS (2) > 236H, 5H (2) > 214K, 2H > JC > j.S > j.D > IAD j.S > j.H (3) When I first saw Millia's BnB I thought it was gonna be hard to replicate but the IAD off a j.D is literally like doing a regular IAD on the ground lol. I tried Elphelt for a bit but the shotgun loops were destroying my pad, so I opted for this character instead.
  5. Wut, wasn't CSE like $40 when it came out? Mmm, not sure if I can shell out $60 anymore just for a chance to play new Plat/Jin and get bopped by ez-mode Nu. I guess I should start learning how to play P4U at least and keep on playing Xrd until a price drop.
  6. Really dissappointed by how ARC is handling CPX. In one hand, it's not too bad for those who didn't pay for the DLC characters but the ones who did are getting fucked. I'll probably still be a sucker and pay the full $40 for the game, if only because BB it's my main fighting game. I bought P4A, P4U and UMvC3 at full price (fucking 60 dollars) and barely touched them so I guess I won't be too mad with this future purchase.
  7. I'm almost sure that Dogura is trolling with the whole "Tager is a hard match-up" thing. That or he's playing against some godlike Tagers, taking into account that he's not that proficient with Nu (even though there's nothing difficult about mashing D lol).
  8. I probably played about 50 CP/CP 1.1 matches in total, I got rekt by Kaguras more than Kokos lol.
  9. They made my characters so fun that I don't even care that Nu is SSS+++ tier in this iteration. I'd rather have one single super OP character than a bunch of OP characters. I mean I'm still gonna rage when I eat those 4K full-screen combos but meh, not all the Nu players will be able to tap her full potential, even though she looks pretty goddamn brain-dead to play as #nerfgravityseedforstarterspls.
  10. Apparently the MJ items get powered up during OD. Plat was able to combo off Super Hammer 5D and Super Cat Hammer 5D ground bounces. 2015 Year of the Loli.
  11. It's more of him being a beast of a player and truly understanding his character than Makoto actually being good. Not that she looks THAT weak from what I've seen though. The same principle applies to Konan's Tsubaki. No Platinum God Daiwa on that list makes me sehd, he was probably a one-hit wonder with that Arc Revo top 8 from last year lol.
  12. I'm pretty sure he's aware of that, the thing is that you have much more to gain from successfully baiting and punishing a DP than if he were to land the DP. Successful bait - high damage combos (unless you're Rachel or Tsubaki lololol) and a gain in momentum or you force him to spend his resources to get out of a sticky situation (Heat/Burst). Successful DP - low damage and a gain in momentum As far as the whole honest/dishonest thing topic, I find it silly to be honest (hue). Basically what I'm seeing is the use of "honest/dishonest" as a way to sugar coat "I don't think this is cheap/I think this is cheap". We're not getting anything constructive out of this type of discussion. We're basically complaining about things we don't like and praising the things we think are not cheap.

  14. Practice until it becomes second nature, if you just go and play matches you're most likely going to get frustrated and not see any real progress. This is my flow chart when learning a new character: 1. Get used to your character's moves. Learn their range and learn what cancels into what. 2. Learn combos until they become second nature. 3. Set the AI to the highest level and practice hit-confirming in neutral. 4. Practice block strings and hit-confirming during offense. After you can hit-confirm consistently against the AI, then you'll be able to play against other players.

  18. 236AAAB doesn't ground bounce as high as before, which means that we can combo into 5C. That change is a HUGE combo buff, it means that we can equip an item from mid-screen combos, more damage, and more corner carry. j.236AAB now ground bounces, which means that air confirms turn into damage. Next time you hit a nigga with a random treasure chest, you best believe you'll be getting over 3K out it, which right now is only possible near the corner with a well placed 236B (leads to 4K+). 3C launches higher, which makes it a helluva lot easier to go into Miracle Jean combos.   19. Haven't seen it yet but 214B~C > 2B on grounded opponents would be sweet. If not then you could always do 5C > 6C > 214B ~ C, assuming that 22C FC even allows us to link into a normal and not just cancel into the D follow-up lol I knew that's what you meant, hence my "hopefully". It will probably work seeing how DP C's recovery has been reduced, it seems like people have an easier time doing DP C > 5B combos so I can only assume that if you use it as a combo finisher it should give you enough time to perform a safe jump j.2C, hopefully lol.
  20. Hopefully, saw Tetsu using a lot of 22C as a combo finisher and then doing meaty j.2Cs but there's probably not enough frame advantage for it to be used as a safe jump.
  21. These new Freeze > 22C, 6B > 5B, and 214B (whiff) ~ C, 66 2B combo routes are hella nice. The loss of 214B corner wall bounce and 214D~C wall stick still hurt but these changes seem like a relatively fair trade overall.

  25. It resets the freeze duration, not the freeze count. However, I'm not actually sure if it resets the freeze duration of the previous freeze move or if it has its own freeze duration properties. Most likely the latter since 5D > 22C, 6C works. During OD, it will most likely count as a "normal" freeze (3 normals freezes and 2 special freezes for a total of 5 freezes in total during OD). Huh, I think I can live with the nerfs (RIP 214D wall stick and 5D FC) now what we've seen the tip of the iceberg of what Jin can do now. Mid-screen TK Hizangeki confirms and potential 3.7K corner damage off 5B are welcome additions, it just sucks that 5D > 22C is character specific in the corner.
