Don't mash tech in mid-air if he's been combo-ing you. Chances are it's an Atomic Collider reset. If you're magnetized and he whiffs any magnetic move (Atomic Collider, any D move, Gadget Finger, 6A, etc.) while you're OTG, there's a reasonable chance that it's a throw/AC setup. Be careful when teching. I believe winded backstep beats those options, though I can't say for sure. Be careful when you block Magnatech Wheel if Tager has 100 meter, as he'll probably cancel it into a 360B or 3C before the last hit. If you're in the air blocking, it'll probably be Atomic Collider. Honestly, you just want to keep the game on your terms. If Tager gets in on you and/or corners you, you just have to guess right off of one of those Gadget Fingers (or Gadget Flingers, though other than for 360s, I actually think the Flinger is easier to react to) and get yourself the hell outta dodge. Of course, the Tager player might opt to not Gadget you, but the same concept applies. Get out of there. Otherwise, just space yourself carefully and use 6A and 6B to your full advantage while zoning him. If you get a good counterhit with basically anything, combo him to hell, do your damage, then back off again and burn more time poking him with forks. Tager's gimmicks only really come into play if you're magnetized, but if you play carefully, the only way he's likely to magnetize you is Spark Bolt, and then you can just use the fork and your zoning tools to space yourself until it wears off. It's a pretty boring matchup. If you get a life lead at any point under the, say 45 second mark, you can just wind around the screen pointlessly and there's almost nothing Tager can do about it (except pray he Atomic Colliders you during a jump or something). I find that I only lose this matchup when I'm being impatient or when I fail to space myself properly and get sledged out of a summon (./cough). You know, actually, the Tager forum has an amazing list of gimmicks and setups. There are so many listed there, though, so I'm not sure if the list will actually be of great use to you unless you want to play Tager. :P

If Mu were a loli, she'd be higher up on that priorities list.
-
Yeah, if I had extra money lying around, I'd get an HD PVR or something. Not Mu.

The problem with starting at noon and having casuals earlier, as it were, was that registration ended up beginning pretty close to noon and lasted a very long time, and people weren't allowed into the arcade before they were registered, so casuals couldn't happen. Though, to be fair, the pre-reg sheet was all messed up.

Yeah, I have nothing against story mode. I just don't want to figure out which choices I have to make to get Mu unlocked. >
-
Uuuugh so much effort. Time to GameFAQs this crap.
-
Ooooh, so that's why I didn't buy her. How do you go about unlocking her? Hahaha.
-
Yeah. If we reaaaally needed a PS3 with her, I also have mine with me, lol. Mine doesn't have Mu, though, but that's mostly because I didn't realize I forgot to buy her.

Whenever we next meet up, then. It's not like we have to wait for months, right? :P And argh, why wasn't Platinum unlocked!?
-
It's been pretty random for me. I had a lot of green and a few white connections yesterday, but today is all red.

Lol, what the heck. xD I wonder if they're changing those up for CS:E or not.

Corner cross-up combo example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqZW27-Pq4U 5.4k damage or so. Max damage from this is 5.7k-ish, if you do the level 2 j.2C after 5CC>236A instead of another 236A. You can only do the max damage combos on characters who can be hit by the entirety of 3C>BBL, unless you burn extra wind to carry the character into the BBL. If you don't have enough wind to do the lvl 3 j.2C, you can instead simply jump over the opponent during BBL, and then pick them up with (5B jc) j.C into level 2 j.2c and then 5CC them back into the corner with pumpkin/frog oki. You can, if you're confident about it, even do the lvl 2 j.2C into frog combo before cornering them. That does something like 5k damage, but you can only do pumpkin oki off of that. Most of the low-wind cost 3C combos off cross-up are self explanatory (ie: they're the same as they would be midscreen). 3C>236B characters will always take more damage from this crossup than non-236b charas.

Super random, but I discovered last night that it is possible to burst out of Platinum's throw (due to the bell being considered a projectile and not part of Plat's throw). In fact, you can burst so early that Plat will invuln through the burst due to still being in the middle of the throw animation. Not sure if that was already known or not, but I found it rather entertaining, if not a bit stupid as well.

I'm somehow not surprised there's a Rachel skype group.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJhG8OcjjLw#t=1m12s Anyone know if that's a legit combo? It looks pretty hype, haha.

Tiny but deadly.

Yeah, apparently station four (the one closest to the gundam cabs) had some problems with input lag. I played on it, but I was honestly too nervous to notice. That said, I'm not sure why they ended up running the top 8 on stations three and four, seeing as how numerous people noted possible lag on four. Not sure if the other cabs had any issues, but if there were, I didn't hear about 'em. BB casuals got all the good cabs. :P

Except infinitely cuter.

@tofurr: I choke ridiculously hard at tournaments, and being put on stream and made to play with some random stick that was lying around definitely didn't help at all, haha. I sorta figure that I'll just go ahead and play on stream anyway, though, in the hopes that eventually I'll get over my nerves. Next time I go to a tourney, though, I'll definitely bring my own stick. I'll get over these tourney nerves eventually, I tell you! I need to get some more Rachel practice in, too. I've spent too much time trolling people with Platinum recently. @spa: lol, nice job on the placements, though. :P

GGs to everyone I played. Was an awesome event. If only I could attend the monthlies. @gamma: i found out eventually! it just took a really long time. vaguely related notes: The artist is a regular at gc, though he's only there on weekends. tushar, i think you forgot your drawings there. :P

We'll be sure to get pics of everything unimportant. 8D

Plat's throws are projectiles. Rain of nails cancels out the bell's hitbox before it reaches Bang. Use backthrow instead.
-
I'd swing by honnou's if I finish up this unpacking thing early... if I had a car. Guess I'll just catch you guys at gc tomorrow.
-
If you were at NCI, I'd totally watch it with you. Mind you, I haven't seen anything Gundam since Cartoon Network first aired Gundam Wing waaaay back when. xD @kirbster: oh my god, your sig is amazing.

In the corner, something like blah>4B 6D>5B>jc j.A>1D j.C actually crosses up pretty fast on the j.C. It's significantly faster than her midscreen IAD crossups (though you can do similar things by burning extra wind midscreen). That said, yes her corner pressure is very solid without using crossups. There's no reason not to mention that this option exists, though. If your opponent has even more options to worry about the moment you jump cancel your 5B, all the better.
