I realize that players in a scene can only get as good/be as serious as the scene can "Fuel". And really, I have nothing against meetups being rather "casual". I love rotating between games I actually know how to play(BB, AH3, eventually KOF) and games I just screw around with in various degrees of seriousness. But at the same time, while I really don't mind that sort of meetup, I still have a drive to try and get as good as I can with Litchi/Lilica(i am going to work on blockstrings with her tomorrow/thursday, fucking promise) even though I fucking refuse to play online(maybe that's my first mistake, but..) and even though we dont have enough players coming to meetups for me to get enough experience to really be a "good" Litchi in terms of fighting characters like Tao, Hazama, etc. I can't help but feel frustrated sometimes, and I want TBF to be more than it can be at this stage. Additionally, I can't drive to people and I know my time is going to be fucking choked once classes roll around, so I have limits beyond the scene. I dunno. Maybe I'll be in a good spot for that sort of thing when I move to Portland or Seattle in about 2 years. PNW has a really strong scene. I totally understand what you mean regarding rather doing other things than work on something that you only do a night a week. I dunno, I guess in some ways I just want more than we can really do right now, but I don't disagree with anything you said and really enjoy how we run it right now. This post is rather rambly and I dont know what else to do with it even though I feel like I have more things to say, so i'll just stop here.

So, with that said, who's up for grinding some BB/Arcana friday? My place, unless frigid/jet are up for hosting. I'm up for staying till like midnight. GRIND GRIND GRIND. Let's fucking grind. Frigid, I know you want grind some Lambda skills. Let's fucking do it. Also, since cookie can't go to TBF5 IIRC, who'd be up for taking me?

So, Texas Bar Fights 5, September 3rd. I know what some of you are thinking. BB will only have 6-14 people, why bother? Why not just do a normal meetup? I'll tell you why: Because this isnt only about Blazblue. This is about any game that has to work to get decent turnouts at tourneys and decent scenes. This is about Guilty Gear, Arcana, KOF, Melty, or whatever other non-Capcom game that struggles. If more people are interested in a game like BB or Arcana or whatever because of tourney attention, they're going to be more open and attentive to similar games. And people actually going to tournaments and being hype as fuck for games like this draws attention and legitimacy, period. I don't give a shit if the money isn't big. Tourneys aren't about that. Plus, I bet that there's going to be at least a few more people participating/interested due to EVO. If we want games like these to get decent turnouts outside of a few good majors, we have to work for it, especially when we're not on the west coast. This isn't something that just magically happens overnight, but we do our part. Additionally, I don't know about you guys, but I wanna challenge anyone who comes to tourneys and doesnt normally come to meetups. Nash, Pozerwolf, Woof, whatever. We all fucking want to win, and encourage these people to participate more and more and get hype going. Also, I know some of you want to go and participate in Marvel/SF4. I wouldn't mind watching some Jet in SF4/Pfhor in MVC/whatever. If we could, getting some casuals going for Arcana would be good, too. Securing blaz casual setups (Unlike last time?) would be good too. Hell, someone bring a ps2 setup for some GG casuals. (also, im not saying play bb even if you dont play bb, im just saying show up and play/hype up the games you love)

Chaos code came out 4 days ago. Day 1 footage wasnt worth watching because lol day 1. Footage from yesterday is much better though, game is looking quite good though I won't link any for another week or two...however, they found a really fjdslkjfds infinite in the corner(2a 2c dash cancel 2a 2c or something like that..since you can dash cancel if you choose dash instead of run) and that worries me a bit for multiple reasons, but I really hope it's just an exception and that the game has few infinites. "juggles are probably possible" i linked you several videos that showed them. do you seriously think they would just remove general juggeability even though they THEY SHOWED JUGGLES IN FOOTAGE? the footage that actually had people remotely competent at the game is more important than footage of day 1 scrubbery.

It's generally considered polite to refer to tg people that way, even if pre-op.

While this is definitely true for some players, there are many people who do not play fighters competitively because they do not appreciate it beyond a superficial level. If they suddenly see something in "hardcore" playing, then they may want to change how they approach a fighter/fighters. Of course you can't force them, but there are certainly ways to generate interest.
