  1. It's a running joke because the match-up forums are usually really bad and there's usually always one guy who says "just IB everything", as if that's oh so helpful
  2. No, you're just an idiot. I hate you, jerk.
  3. Well alright, but it can still be used if you want to use a D poke when she has 50 heat.
  4. Just found out about a new technique that might help this match-up for Nu, I'm calling it "crouch buffering". So you can duck Tao's Pounce super, right? Well it turns out that you don't lose the invincibility to the super as soon as you stand up, so that means that you can crouch, do a move, and the crouch you did before the move can protect you from the super even while you're doing a standing move. Since this is possible, you can do at least some pressure on Tao even when she has 50 heat, and punish pounces earlier more safely.
  5. wat? No good Tao is going to do 6C > Cat Spirit 3 unless they hit confirm it, or as a once in a blue moon mixup since you can just jab Tao out of it. And on hit it has the cleanest combo afterwards (vertical drive loop). Also, IB IB IB IB IB IB IB IB lol match-up forums.
  6. It'll always depend on the connection, lag will always be Tao's mortal enemy. I personally think that it's not un-reasonable to land taunt combos 90+% of the time in a good connection, so I'm optimistic. But ya, in a laggy connection, Tao is garbage tier (says the guy with a bad connection )
  7. So I was practicing taunt combos 'cause Ronove told me to, and I figured out how to do that double taunt combo ^_^ The combo should actually look more like 5b -> 6a x1 -> JC -> j.2d~b -> Taunt -> 214d -> ... -> j.2d~b -> Taunt -> 236aa -> 2d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bb -> j.236bbbb, note the pause after the cat jump, it lets the opponent fall enough to finish the combo. Wanted to post this cause I swear I thought this combo was actually impossible, and it might help other people do this damned combo
  8. (Taunt > 214D > j.2D~B) = Taunt Loop? So a combo would look like 5B > 6A(1) > JC > j.2D~B > Taunt Loop x 5 > Taunt > 236CC > 2D~6 > j.C > 8D~6 > j.C > JC > j.236BBBBB? As opposed to (214D > j.2D~B > Taunt) or (j.2D~B > Taunt > 214D). /semantics
  9. OMG SO PERFECT TYTYTYTYTYTY

  10. If you have to cut off the top of it that's fine. Then it just looks like it goes forever :O

  11. That stinks, oh well. Anyway what's your idea for my avy?

  12. Hmmm... Can I get one like your's or Rin's or Tsuuna's with the character and cool background, but with Farnsworth from my current avy as the character, but zoomed in a little on his face, and OMG as the text pretty plzplzplzplz? omg I'll love you 4ever if you do omg I'll get you a higher quality pic too if you want.

  13. But I like Farnsworth... Okay fine, so do I like tell you what I want or do you just sorta give me one?

  14. I dun has PSN sry :( Do you have an xbox but not XBL, or just no xbox period?

  15. In "#2: Air tech traps/resets", it says that they only have 7 frames to tech a green throw, am I missing something or isn't it 13 frames?
  16. It's done by pressing C, then as soon as you can B, but not at the same time, just as fast as you can while not pressing them at the same time. The reason it works is because the game doesn't expect you to press the two grab buttons at the exact same frame every time, so it gives you a few frames of slack.(Someone smarter than me can say exactly how many frames) So it'll play the first little bit of whatever move you're pressing first, and then cancel it with the grab. It extends your grab range by a little bit by running the first few frames of the 5C which moves Tao forward a little bit, and then canceling it so you grab a little in front of where you would normally. I personally don't use it since Tao's grab range is already really good, and at least for me she usually doesn't end up in the range needed for the kara-throw to be worthwhile. And the notation would look something like C~B. EDIT: If you're asking about physically doing it, do you use a pad or stick?
  17. So my combo is 5B 6A JC j.2D~B Taunt 214D j.2D~B Taunt 236AA 2D~6 j.C j.8D~6 j.236BB j.C (tech/gray here) j.8D~6 j.236BBBB. And after the j.236BB between the j.C and 8D~6 the dummy is teching, but when I turn aerial teching off I can do the combo, but it goes gray in the same spot, so I think it means the hitboxes are fine, but the teching thingy isn't adding up. So is this combo just impossible with the Cat Spirit 2s in the middle of the drive loop? I moved this from the FAQ thread since I figured it fit better in here.
  18. My combo goes 2D~6 j.C j.8D~6 j.236BB j.C (Training dummy techs here) j.8D~6. What me do? And thank you for explaining throw/attack mix-ups to me. I r slow.
  19. Two part question: I can sometimes get the 5b -> 6a x1 -> JC -> j.2d~b -> Taunt -> 214d -> j.2d~b -> Taunt -> 236aa -> 2d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bb -> j.bbbb combo in training mode, but most of the time they'll be too high for either the first or second j.C to connect, so what do I do to get it to work? Delay the taunts so they fall farther and change the timing on the j.2d~bs were what I was thinking, but I'm not sure, so that's why I'm asking people smarter than me Also, it seems like just jumping back with barrier beats all of my pressure, is there anything I can do to keep pressure or punish them if they do that? Maybe air throwing? But then they could just tech if I get predictable, and if I don't keep trying to air throw them then they get to jump out again Maybe there's a specific set-up to punish the jump start up frames?
  20. Figured I should finally post in here. I'm about 6'4, brown hair, green eyes, lean build, laggy Tao. XBL: OMG its a duck, south Florida, usually on at night, like anytime after 10:30 PM EST really.
  21. Well I suppose the more timed drive cancels, the harder the combo will be(for me at least), so 2 would be the easiest, but it also comes down to what you're more comfortable with and can do more consistently, for me it's 4, so I dunno, just try them all in some player matches and pick the one you're most comfortable with.
