  1. I am still in high school. 1 and a half years until college! :P First video is up Again, don't expect much since I'm trying to show some combos without RC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUnjMRgznDs HD effect has kicked in.
  2. Today is the first day of my finals. I got out at 10:50 A.M., but I got home at around 11:30 (since the bus arrived late). I lied about uploading them tonight. I'm uploading one now (the intermediate combos). They aren't much, just showing some combos without Roman Cancel. The next video I upload might be the item one since it's a smaller file than the advance combos.
  3. Ok I just finished the intermediate, advanced, and item combos for Sol. I won't put them up until I go to bed since I'll want to play online for a bit. There was one EZ mode item combo that I JUST thought of after I published it to my computer... 4/6X > 2X > heavy feat/mouth zipper > RC > combo
  4. (with the exception of 4y and 6y, but players rarely do that anyway). Before switching to Valentine, then to Sin, I used to use this a lot. This would net me a free combo after that.
  5. The first one doesn't take as much tension as you'd think. You'll gain more tension by doing the [2X] xn part anyway. It's very useful and easy to pull off. You don't have to always use the last combo, but if you mix your combos up frequently, they will more than likely NOT side step. Especially if you use your 4X's and 6X's a lot. You can change the combo to X > 6X > 2X > 8Y > RC > combo so they won't side step. Even then, if it lands, it's a guarenteed guard break. I think the 6Y > RC 2nd hit > [2X] xn will land, which will net you more tension. I honestly think doing the ]L[ X > Y > sidestep > [L] 8X xn combo is hard to pull off online, but definitely worth it. Do whatever works with you. I normally don't use Sol, and I forget most of my combos on the spot. I prefer to play a supportive role, which, in my opinion, Sin does best. Same goes to Ky (sort of). Here's a random item combo I just thought of for Sol. [L] X > 6X > 2X > 2Y > RC the FIRST HIT > defensive item skill > ]L[ 8X It's not very practical, but if you need to get away and need a defence boost, then it comes in handy.
  6. Eventually, your opponent will wise up to that same combo and eventually side step it (or jump in Izuna's case for a free freeze). Here are some fun combos for you to ponder, tobal. [L] X > 6X > 2X > 6Y > RC after second hit > side step forward > [2X] xn > jX > j2Y [L] X > X > X > walk foward a tad bit unlock > ]L[ X > Y > [L] side step > [2X] xn > jX > j2Y [L] X > 6X > X > RC > X > 6X > X > pause > X > X > 8Y [L] X > X > X> 8Y > Guard break > combo
  7. He complains A LOT when you work your way around his units. I just couldn't stand it. Also, he thinks sending two units to his base is 'cheap shotting'. It's not my fault he doesn't protect his base. His friends think I play a 'noobish Sin' too. They always attempt to do the SAME COMBO every single time. It nets me a free counter every time. :P /rant EDIT: Never make a predictable burst agaist Sin. EVER. His most damaging combo works fom 8X > [L] 5Y > 8X > [L] 8Y. I think this does over 350 damage. And of course you can add any variation after 5Y or after the second 8X. After one of these variations, it can lead to an item combo (such as rapid fire + slow feet), so... don't ever burst.
  8. Blockhead is EXTREMELY useful in either a group, or with the master. It can heal the master and buff up other units. Personally I bring this unit out around the 3rd round, but only if there are a lot of armored units to get rid of. Using that plus Sol's item servant can take down armored units quickly. I don't think Sol needs a mobile unit since his armored units can handle their own against other armored units. I also don't think Valentine needs armored units since she can easily take out armored units with her magic units (and sometimes a giant mob of melee units). Oooh, I might use the last section for what to do in team battles. EDIT: In the servants section, I'll give tips as to how useful some servants are over others and when to use them.
  9. ModChipMan's venue 350 South Main Place, Carol Stream, IL 60188 When I saw this, I freaked out. I would have lived like... 10 minutes away from this location. But then I realized it's in a suburb. >:/ I can't wait to go to this event! xD
  10. This is what I have planned... Next Wednesday is my first day of finals, but I get off of school at like 12. So I'll make combos (from intermediate, to advanced, to item combos) for maybe 2 or 3 characters. Then finish the rest on Thursday and Friday. As for character strategies and tips, I won't start that until the Monday before Christmas. I'll have those videos outlined as... 1. Masters -What to do in master vs. master situations 2. Servants -Which servants are useful and when to use them 3. Personal skills -When to buy character specific skills and how they are useful 4. Offensive and defensive strategies -How to be offensive and defensive with said character 5. Extra -If I think of anything (instant kill combos, item tricks, etc), I'll put those here
  11. Panda, I don't know if you saw the video yet, but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31xQ877sXEw I've always wanted to make combo videos (nothing stylish) for each character. Might as well add in strategies and such. If anyone's interested, the Blazblue Night of Shenanigans video is almost done (over 30 videos converted into .mwv ). Might be up either today, or Wednesday (since I have a half day that day).
  12. I understand it's my fault for not sticking with what I said. However, there are other things that get in the way, such as school, outside work, applications, etc. I can't control when I get more work assigned and such. As I've said, Panda, I'll make the video for you tomorrow. Tobal, I'll work on character strategies for each character during winter break. I'll also throw in combo videos for each character so your friend has something to reference. My winter break starts in two weeks (12/21/09), so the very first video might be up the next day.
  13. I'm terribly sorry about that Panda. I've been busy with ACT prep and studying for finals. I won't be able to do it Saturday and Sunday since I gotta finish a project for Math. Plus, I wanted to get a 4 player game going in Borderlands so you could see the online portion of it, but no one else has it on my friends list. I'll make it for you tomorrow, since I'm totally free then. EDIT: Plus, after a week I offered to make the video, my software for my capture card stopped working, so I couldn't have tried to make it anyway. Luckily I got it fixed last weekend.
  14. >_>; Congrats on making the first FAQ for the Guilty Gear 2 forms at Gamefaqs.com, tobal.
  15. Well. That hurts a tad bit.
  16. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Real-Arcade-Pro-EX-SE/dp/B002FKYPU4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1260403373&sr=8-4 So something like this will last me longer than a year or so? If I wanted to replace the buttons on the arcade stick (so as to get different colors), how long (on estimate) would that take? Do you guys assign buttons for rapid cancels and barrier? Also, how consistently do you guys do IAD>kara cancels with the stick? Thanks again.
  17. Could you guys recommend an arcade stick that won't need any parts to be replaced? I don't really care for artwork. If there aren't any sticks that won't need any buttons replaced, then how easy is it to mod it? I think I've fought Kyle(Wattatula?) a few times, and Novalanch(?) like... once or twice. You guys have really solid Carls. :P Could you guys describe how air dashing would work/feel like on an arcade stick? Also, what button layout do you guys use? ABCD or DABC? Thanks for answering in advance.
  18. Just out of curiosity... Do any of you Carl players use an arcade stick? I'm just about fed up with the d-pad for the Xbox 360 controller. Is Volante (new projectile) not air techable, or only on counter hit?
  19. I hope we can keep the DLC colors from Calamity Trigger. I want my green leprechaun Carl. D:
  20. My apologies about the Night of Shenanigans. The software I use with my capture card stopped working Saturday afternoon, that's why I didn't get on Guilty Gear 2. Hopefully I'll have it fixed by next weekend. I am also going to buy Sony Vegas so I can crop the videos and make the videos look more fancier. I'll let you guys know when Night of Shenanigans will be up and running again.
  21. Comboing with rapid fire + heavy feat = <3 Especially with Sin and Sol, they are the characters that can use it the easiest. One more day until the Night of Shenanigans.
  22. Blazblue spreads <3 all around. So far we have four people attending Saturday's Night of Shenanigans.
  23. I posted this up originally on gamefaqs, just gonna copy and paste it. Seeing as Panda has been having sooo much fun in Blazblue, he might not participate for this Saturday's Night of Shenanigans. Can anyone confirm that they will be online this Saturday?
  24. I was planning to make it during Thanksgiving Break, since I'm off of school for 5 days. I have other things to focus on, such as school, applications, drivers ed, and more. Sorry my main priority isn't Guilty Gear 2. Since I'm such a lazy bum, I'll live up to those standards and not make the video.
  25. I wasn't joking at all. I posted this on the Gamefaqs website, so I guess I'll post it here. Since Panda got his Xbox 360 back, and hopefully his Guilty Gear 2, we should all get on the Saturday of Thanksgiving and have a night of shenanigans. I plan to record all matches and put them on youtube. You can guess from the title that I plan to record all of the bs moments we have on that game (we being Panda, AJ, and Kirby). Others are welcome to join. I'd host this on the Friday, but that's reserved for Blazblue's Night of Shenanigans.
