  1. Daisuke had very little to do with Slash and almost nothing to do with AC IIRC
  2. In my boredom yesterday, I created a very, very simple gui launcher for AC, with netplay settings http://nehle.net/ggn/Launcher.rar However, it also requires an updated version of nullDC (The one that supports launching roms from command line) http://www.emucr.com/2011/05/nulldc-naomi-svn-r134.html It's really simple, but let me know if something doesn't work/needs improvement Edit: Since it's so simple, I haven't added any error handling to it. So, you know, don't intentionally try to break anything at this point :I Edit 2: Also require .Net framework 4 cause that's how I roll
  3. Dizzy unblockable actually works better as a meaty IMO. With the right voice set it works on Anji and pot just do 236H FRC dash in taunt. Anji has such a large rising hitbox he can't dodge it (unless with FD) and pot is just too large. It's slightly closer to "true" unblockables.
  4. Is it just me or is there some horrible input lag? I've tried tweaking the emulator to speed things up but I just can't get it to be as fast as it should be. Despite 100% speed emulation and 60fps, it still feels as though the actual commands happen several frames after the input. It's slightly better than demul I guess but it's nowhere near perfect. Suggestions?

    AC: Combos

Depending a bit on the distance, you can usually skip the 2H before the ice spike, which makes them float lower, making the combo slightly easier. Or if you have 50% tension, just do IR instead of the air combo and you ave a nice corner setup!
  6. I love this vid so much. And I'm pretty sure you know that, Shinjin. It contains a lot of subtle brilliance that really requires some knowledge of the game to appreciate. Also, this seriously needs to be on the front page. Like, immediately.
  7. Hellmonkey! Come to Sweden!
  8. Looking at the results, I guess you can't get a negative score on first dan?
  9. It was a j.P just before landing, but yea. Why is that nuts?
  10. Woshige is untouchable and unblockable, N-O is The Architect and Dogura is super awesome hype machine Ghastly Dream wins.
  11. Shinjin posting from Nehle´s account: I just want the best possible qualifier available. So let´s try to focus on what we can do from now on, instead of playing "it´s you´re fault". It pretty much comes down to this in my mind: Stunfest - Can promise arcade-version. - French-players confirmed. Showdown - Can´t promise arcade-version (the Swedish guy that had the game might have sold it, he hasn´t answered me yet, so I can´t make any promises) - Alot of top-european players (ex: Goga, Tim119, Mitsu, Cieslak, SWE etc) have already signed up for this event (an event two weeks before Stunfest) Pretty much every country other than us Swedes have traveled alot to play GG for the last couple of years (last time us Swedes went abroad was B3C2007), so I understand why people want us to move around as well. I don´t really mind going to Stunfest, but this discussion should not only be about us Swedes, nor should it be about only French, or Russians, etc. What is best for the whole community should be prioritized. The people that are seriously interested in qualifying for Tougeki are: France Sweden Russia Finland Pretty much. I would like to know what Finland (Lazze etc.) thinks. Preferably in a mannered fashion To be fair this was decided via a vote open for everyone and properly announced. It's not like I only changed the date for cheaper plane prices, it was changed because a majority of the European-community wanted a pretty much GG-only dedicated event to be in May rather than in March. Yet again, I just want a highest possible level of a qualifier as possible (amounts of teams, playerstrength). And it should be decided ASAP! Love you all!!!! /Shinjin from Nehle´s account

    AC: Combos

Yea, but for many characters you are too far away to lift them again with the kunai. It works on Potemkin and I would guess Faust, since they have a rather large horizontal hitbox. In my opinion, the damage you gain at that point doesn't really justify the harder execution and losing the tensionless knockdown.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=990F4EEE86D93782 Latest batch o' vids, from GlennDown in Götepöte. Capfail occured in the finals due to hard drive failure. How I blocked Millia? ._.

    Throw ranges?

Yes, the throw ranges are for AC. They were about twice that in Slash

    Throw ranges?

http://dustloop.com/data/ac/system.html PO > DI SL ED Jam has pretty bad throw range actually
  17. You get CH on every hit while the guard gauge is blinking. The best way to get feedback is if you can record yourself playing, preferably vs real players.
  18. Then we are arguing entirely different things. The reason we don't want someone to upload it to youtube is because we want to support Tougeki so they can afford to run it for another year, not because we are so terribly fond of those little plastic discs that become unusable as soon as they are scratched by an unusually pointy air molecule. I don't think anyone would complain if they made digital downloads instead of, or as an option to, DVDs. Au contraire, but this argument was, at least in my mind, "paying vs youtube" not "Business Model '95 vs Business Model 2010".
  19. First off, it needs to be said that it is not as simple as that. The reasons for tougeki/enterbrain losing more money this year could be multiple. For one thing the arcade market is in a steady decline, making their customer base grow thinner. For another thing, it's entirely possible that the enormous recession we're in somehow made their sponsors lose interest in dropping money in their laps. However, it is a fact that they shut down Tougeki Damashii. It is also a fact that they feel they can't spend the same amount of money in production of the DVDs. But it's a very, very flawed argument stating that you think they can affordmaking a better version if they can't afford it now. It seems to me like it's more likely that, if they still lose money on it after cutting all those costs, they start to consider shutting down the whole thing. I understand that, having already payed for it, you'd want access to it as fast as possible. In that sense, a youtube version is perfectly logical. However, putting it on youtube would also make so that everyone who hasn't payed for it won't want to pay for it either since it's already freely available on youtube.
  20. I got the DVD today, will be seeing it on Thursday with the rest of the GG Lund guys. Here's to hoping I can see myself there Also looking forward to reseeing N-O raping Chonari This. I hope everyone here realizes that the reason it came with a magazine and didn't include all the matches this year is because they're actually losing money on this thing. If you want to see the matches, buy the damn DVD. It's not that expensive!
  21. Does Joe even play anymore? Regardless, I played against Joe in Showdown 3 and against Goga in Showdown 4 and to me it seems that Goga is the better of the two.

    AC: Combos

Yea. it's from a very basic oki, and that's pretty much the usual way needed to lift most most people. The important thing is of course that you can get KD off of the followup combo without spending 50% tension for IR or settling for less damage. The hardest part here is that the j.H after the 421 will need to be delayed as much as possible, so the opponent will have fallen enough, and that dizzy is far in enough that the bubble will be popped by the spike and not by an extra normal (which will lift them too high for the f.S to hit). If it doesn't get popped though, be ready with a j.K > bubble pop for either air combo or IR KD Walking backwards is of course so you don't get an accidental c.S

    AC: Combos

I was asked to cap my best corner combo for a friend. So if anyone still reads these forums, here's a video of the best corner combo I can come up with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pS3Xzcx_OI It's TensionlessKnockdown231 damage on Slayer
  24. Heh, long time indeed. I'm pretty good here, the Swedish GG scene is as strong as ever. BB not so much though :I But I'm thinking of heading over to China actually for a couple of months studies there, so I probably won't see Japan (or SBO :() for quite some time from now, but of course I'd love to go back. How much are the tickets from the US anyways? In Sweden, getting around $900 is considered very good. Edit for currency conversion :I

  25. Aww, and I thought you missed me from Japan :(
