  1. It also makes Elizabeth and Flame Iori's command grabs annoying as shit. I've lost count of how many times I accidentally got Elizabeth's DP instead of her command grab when I wanted it. Not like it's a big deal with Elizabeth's DP because that's pretty safe on block, but still...
  2. I'll generalize us how I please. ' Also I'd personally like to see May Lee again. She was fun to play.
  3. EC players hate not being good at everything they do. They also hate having to put effort into learning things they feel that they already know. One of us, one of us, one of us. :D
  4. What's so similar about them? Appearance? That's all I can think of. Ash is a more defensive zoner that strives to push characters to the closest corner, which is the only place his close range game is really worth a damn. Saiki is an offensive zoner since his tools are more oriented for mid and close range. Ash needs meter to be more threatening, so it's ideal to have him on anchor. Saiki's already more than threatening without meter, so he's usually on point or assist. Ash has Sans Culottes, a pseudo V-ism state where he can cancel what he wants, when he wants into any command normal or special, which is vital for corner carry and also scoring Ash's best knockdown (Germinal). Saiki does not have Sans Culottes, instead he has an aerial version of the b+D command normal which, when combined with his other tools, can lead to some interesting combos and fuzzy guard shenanigans. Ash can annoy you from long range with his entire arsenal of projectiles. Saiki can only annoy you with one projectile from long range because all of the other ones are useless at long range. Saiki can do decent damage with Drive meter. Ash doesn't really have much use for the Drive meter and even if he did, his damage still sucks. Star-Demon, I don't know how to say this without being blunt, but I think you presented this statement with no clue what you're talking about. Sure they look alike and they both have a projectile, that's great. However, you have to look deeper into every aspect of the characters before you conclude that "it's like having two of the same character on a team." On that note, I still haven't unlocked Saiki and I'm too lazy to go through Arcade again. Hmm...99 cents won't hurt my wallet that badly, I guess.
  5. Yes, do both of these. You have no business rolling through projectiles because you're free to throws while rolling. Just keep neutral jumping them and wait it out. KoF is a game of much patience as I've learned not too long ago. As for the punishing thing, there's plenty of things that are unsafe in this game, you just have to be quick to punish them. Like there are some things that you have to chase down IMMEDIATELY to punish (K'/Kula's DP, each AoF team member's Hienshippukyaku) and some things can be punished earlier than it seems (because blockstun doesn't last as long as it looks), but a good few things are most definitely punishable when they don't look punishable. It took me a while, but I'm pretty good at punishing stuff in this game now. KoF is a game based on punishing. If whatever you do is getting punished, the other player is doing something right and you have to change your game to punish them for trying to punish you. How do you do that? Well, that's just something you have to figure out over playing the game. Hell, I still ask most people I play for advice because the other guy could be a knowledge base with the answers that I'm looking for. I'll make myself sound like an idiot if I have to in order to get answers I need. You live in Ohio, Kazuki. We should have a great connection with each other, so if you're available for matches tonight, I'll play you to see if I can analyze your gameplay for myself and try to help you more.
  6. TRUTH! So much truth here. Just a reminder, learning to play on a stick does not make a better player. You'd be surprised at the number of pad users in KoF (me being one of them). This is one of those rare games where you're better off sticking to what you first learned the game on. There's a considerably large difference between playing KoF on a pad and playing KoF on a stick. It's not a "better or worse" difference either. It's an "I don't think I'm even playing the same game, this is so awkward" difference.
  7. Don't remind me...
  8. GGs to Star-Demon. You signed off before I could finish my message and send it out. What I can tell is that you're playing too impatiently now. Mind you, I recently started working on my impatience and fixing it (as you can see, I'm a bit more passive now when you get offensive), but it's like I'm developing patience and giving you my old impatience, lol. As I learned less than a week ago, there's a very slim risk of being chipped out in KoF and while 60 seconds doesn't seem like a lot of time on the clock, it actually is plenty of time. Don't be in any rush here, just slow down and watch your opponent. Observe everything they're doing and find that chance to move in on them. It doesn't have to be immediate, take your sweet old time. My friend I play with offline once told me that you should never play at anyone's pace but your own. Also seriously...you should probably learn the combos. If you already know them, then just give some time for your hitconfirming to improve. It won't get better overnight, but keep at it and eventually you'll pull off the big combos whenever someone screws up. These matches today were definitely an improvement on your part, but there's still plenty of room for more.
  9. Well alright, I'll play with you today. All I can say is that you have to be more aggressive and disrespectful in this game. All of your characters have anti-airs, you gotta use them when the other player's hopping around. I wasn't aware that I was the only person that's playing with you in KoF.
  10. No comment... I could upload the matches of my day one Elizabeth who never DPs, but that would just be silly. Wait...so you never noticed this when you fought my Shen? Not at all? *sigh* Completely unrelated note, but now I have Christmas themed custom palettes for all 3 of my main team members. I'm going to be rocking around the Christmas tree (and Mexicans) all week with these palettes.
  11. Maybe you should just put more time into the game. PROTIP: That time you spent playing BB again did not help you improve at KoF by any means.
  12. Mexican players are used to playing in really laggy connections, believe it or not. I found this out yesterday because my friend played a few of the top Mexicans over the previous week and they were doing just fine in a horrendous connection. Safe to say that it wouldn't have mattered if the connection was laggy or not, he still would've got his ass beat, lol. Because I fought my friend who has been fighting the Mexicans, I've realized that I still have a lot to learn about this game. Starting today, I'm actually trying a different approach to KoF. The right approach. UPDATE: I fought my first Mexican player today. Scary shit. I'm learning a bit off of him though.
  13. I'll play you some time this afternoon if you can manage to catch me before I go to casuals. I live in PA and I tend to have awesome connections with the NY folks.
  14. Wow RED KicK is fucking fast now. That looks so amazing.
  15. Oh man, I know that feeling. I lost a match that I wouldn't have lost in a million years on what was a 3 bar connection, but was laggy as shit. Also if there's anyone that still hasn't seen this yet, I highly recommend watching it. This is probably one of the most helpful things I've seen for KoF XIII on YouTube and it's from DandyJ, known as a great Super Street Fighter II Turbo player and also known for homo-genius: a history of gay inventors. His video shows how to make use of training mode's features better than you probably are right now. No matter if you're a beginner or a high-level player, I would definitely suggest that you watch this.
  16. Oh my god I would pick up Benimaru just to make and use a Freakazoid palette (and I think I will). Also in about 6 hours, I'll take up any requests for matches. I need to find someone that can crush my ego. My wins surpassed my losses and I'm finding it too hard to believe that I got this good at KoF XIII after only 200 matches.
  17. Shen Woo says "Hi." Then again, I haven't done many of King's missions, so I'm not entirely sure if her HDC combos are actually easier than Shen's. I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if they were though.
  18. 214ABC? What the fuck? Also in the very short time I played CS2, I don't remember any times I used the Mission Combos. I used what was posted in the combo thread and it worked better than what the Missions teach you. No. Just...no. That's....not even sort of like a hit-confirm. That and hit-confirming are two completely different things. I don't play this game and I'm not really the go-to knowledge base for it either, but my fundamental knowledge is screaming that your advice is leading this man to a certain impending doom. That's about as nice as I can put it.
  19. That's a contradiction that will get you murdered. Kouma is a pretty aggressive character and he has to play it patiently. On the other hand, you can't give a fuck as Kouma. If you let up for any reason other than you got disrespected and now the pressure's on you, you're not playing Kouma effectively.
  20. GGs to ShinSyn, tokyobassist, Starblast0r, and twin-solo_2. I need to keep my eyes on all of you because two of you are already tough matches and the other two can potentially become tough matches with some more practice and experience.
  21. It seems like a majority of the complaints about the netcode are coming from XBL's side of things (surprisingly). I'd say that's as big of a difference as any because most of my netplay matches on PSN are great.
  22. Oh hey, you're pretty close. Want to play some matches?
  23. LOL. Against Kensou's fireball pressure, you have to time a roll between the kick and fireball. Just take some time to practice dealing with it. You should consider using your meter to CD out of stuff more often, too.
  24. It's fine, man. I played against Sanger_Zonvolt yesterday. He's a VERY strong player. Still learning the game like I am, but his fundamentals are super strong. I have a lot of respect for him right now. GGs to him.
  25. Yeah I proved myself wrong when I played him more. He is a relatively easy character to work with. Just a little trouble getting in, but beyond that, it's hell for your opponent.
