Villainous Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Ok so I'm having some trouble on a couple of the combos because I don't think they're physically possible. Namely ones like this: 6c -> 66 Taunt -> 236cc -> 2d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bb -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bbb There's 3 8D~6's in that combo, but you can only do 2 in the air. How does that work exactly / what should it look like? Also the second 8D is techable in this combo. ALso for characters like Carl, what are the best combos on him off of 236CC start, 6A starter, and 3C starter? Oh and forward throw too.....I can't get anything to work on him.

They seem pretty legit to me, you dont really have to write them perfectly anyways, because the video is there for them to refer too Yeah, good luck with TaoFTW's combo's though, they're a little more tricky :P I'm going to be uploading single combos to youtube. Do you guys want me to do more? Edit: Ugh, my capture card lags way too much to do any air combos normally. Rin & TaoFTW, can you help me gather up single combos to upload? Yeah, that looks great so far! One thing to keep in mind though, that is for a short clip like that on YouTube, the sound will cut off very early, you probably already noticed , thats why you should put them all together in on video, in skill level. But the flashing icons for inputs were pretty cool! As for capture, I had a hard time making my video too, because of my HDTV, I had to deal with conversion lag and I was used to it, and when I record I go to my standard AV tv... it really was a pain to do some of these combo's myself, so I hear ya. Not too sure what you need, but if you give us inputs or something me and Tao might be able to figure something out. Tao is also busy working on another bigger video sponsored by someone big, so it might be awhile :P XD

I'll look into why the hell that program does that, or just record with a different program then edit later.

I just replace taunt with 5C and cut my drive loops short so I don't risk him teching out. Thanks for the edit just_here2. I'm starting to think the scaling histun might be character specific because its hard to find consistant combos. For instance, when I realized Arakune could not be taunt combo'd I started doing: 3C, 5D~6, j.5C, j.236B, j.2D~B, 5C, 2D~8, j.5C, j.8D~8, j.5C, 236BB, j.5C, j.8D~8, 236BBBB It works great, but other characters can tech after the 236BB into j.5C. I don't think its a size thing because some characters that CAN be taunt combo'd also break out of this. So I'm thinking histune becomes shorter faster for some characters. Arakune is not one of them, he's just hard to hit cause he's squiggly. More as it developes.

Seems like a lot of the high damage options just don't work on him and getting anything that's not 236C-combo just doesn't seem to work well. So I found a funny combo today, it might not be that useful in itself BUT it does lead to getting on from range pretty easily: 5C CH 214D j.A j.C 5B 6A (1hit) j.5D~b Taunt (1hit) 236CC 2D8 236BBB Also if you're poking with 5C and get an air CH from a long ways away while doing this you can go into 214D j.C drive loop. But anyway this lead me to find the super easy get in on people option aka blocked 5C 214D j.B. j.A spam works too to keep them in place if they like to jump. Course on CH you can just get 6C but if you were using this to get in then atleast you can take the hit and run with it into a combo.

I'm sure there are others too. Because of Taokaka's high damage it is possible to do 4k damage, mid-combo air grab, and astral heat (CH 5B/5C) 6C 236CC 2d~6 j.C 9D~6 j.C 9D~6 j.C 9D~6 236BB airthrow astral heat will kill most characters from 80% hp. Only problem is getting 100% heat and landing the throw

Trying to come up with something after that, but I really want to get Trick Edge in the combo.

Desov2 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 As soon as you let off 6c, you hold 4. The long stun and the bounce off the side of the screen that the opponent has to go through pretty much allows you to do the astral.
