  1. Just wanted to shake off the dust off of my DL account and thank MikuruX for making this happen! I went to AWA mostly for my GF's cosplay sake but I stumbled on the AH3 setup (havent played since CEO2012) and won a key for the game! Excited to try and pick up an anime game again after playing SF4 for 3 more years. Hopefully I will have some new perspectives this time around.
  2. Well, I am moving up to Orlando for UCF, and I happen to play Tao quite a bit as well. :3
  3. lolololololool Now I can get my Hazama kicks while playing Tao with those j8D~A combos.
  4. Is that anything like the combo ender I was talking about in the CS discussion thread?
  5. Yeah, doing it off of counter hit 3C (the low hit) make it very easy to do, but Mebo also does it off of a running 5B CH (although the CH shouldnt factor in too much) 8D~6 is proper notation, although the shortcut is 9D~9, just like how some people write 6D~6 when its 5D~6
  6. I can get the 5D~5 JC part (you have to really try to get a max range JC, I think), but its the 8D in the classic 5D~C 5D~A 8D~6 stuff which usually works out. Also, try it exclusively on Nu, for I think its her hitbox that makes it possible anyway (much like Arakune and his silly drive loop combo).
  7. Well DF2K, none of that really suffices as an excuse- playing around with bad stuff and playing blindy will get you rated as such. Not personally, but for the purposes of Cake's analysis, which is the only thing any of us should even care about (although this is the COMBO thread. >w>) Getting back on topic, has anyone had any success with the Mebo combos? XDest and TaoFTW are too busy with CS I think, so I just don't know who to ask about it. Have you tried it much Rin?
  8. Rin, what are you talking about? xD That Litchi is pretty terrible, in all honesty. She only got like, one actual combo (3.1k), and was whoring out 6A all match. As usual, lets do our best not to use 3C and 6C in pressure too often. Not a bad Tao Cakeh, just have to be more patient and get in more blockstrings, if you can. Litchi is pretty superior in the poking department with her staff, so just try to bait a DP out of her and get to work on her staffless mode, where Tao can freely get in her throw mixup. :3
  9. :3 Yaaa man, I bet you can feel the excitement in my visitor message post too!

  10. No joke killionaire. It is a nice gesture though. xD Man oh man I wish I had soem CS so I could slave at finding a knockdown B&B for Tao, I think a Nico video may have gotten it, but I need TaoFTW to be on nowwww~~~*restless*

  11. Edit: Darn, I can't get the 8D to connect after the series of cancels. It may only be on Nu and counter, who knows.
  12. I so did not just mention that Mebo video a post ago. I like the 5D~C combo a bit more, looks like it will work on more characters in my opinion, but I will test tomorrow morning. *takes cat nap*
  13. Already mentioned this in the video thread but wow.
  14. What in baby jesus is that loop? link 5B (counter) -> 3C -> [5D~6 -> jC]x2 -> 5D -> jC (max range) -> 5D~C -> 5D~A -> 8D~6 -> jC -> 8D~6 -> j236BB -> j236BBBB for 4013 damage? Hot damn.
  15. I think you can also just do 236BBBBB for the jCx3 drive loops, so if you are having trouble with the timing for those, it can be a good knockdown for you in CT (as well as get you used to the BBBBB styles of CS) Also, I would implore you to take this waiting time for CS as a boot camp of sorts- try to get all the technical stuff out of the way early so when CS comes out, you can work on the finer aspects of fighting (spacing, poking, mixup, etc) If you can get those Taunt combos down before CS, you will be ahead of the game. :3
  16. I mean air-to-ground. Will Tao be able to just cancel the j.C into something before landing though? Heh, I will just go to training mode today and play around with that.
  17. I am displeased by this coming of events. Had it coming though. So, what tools does Tao have to beat her own j.C? Anything cleanly punish it on IB? Sort of hard now that I think about the delay.
  18. ...Did our IB sage get banned? I do not get to hit up too many tagers, but what do you guys do about Tao's who do a lot of 7C's and such? I don't think 2A is that useful in those situations. Feels like it must be terribly annoying to play against FRKZ kitty all day, but I am sure you guys have anti-strats for that. Discuss.
  19. 3C went into 5D~B (hit), Taunt loop in an earlier video, maybe for those who can not nail it right, 3C -> 5D~B (hit) -> Taunt -> 236CC -> Vertical -> 236BBBBB will be pretty okay damage?
  20. Yeah, that would be a fairly obvious way to handle things. I think I saw Keita finally pull off a 2D AA combo, let me look for the video, and I will post the stuffs.
  21. I think matchups really depend on how well Tao can bait the opponent. When you really think about it, Tao has no plus frame pressure, and no real frame traps. Going for the low&throw is what she does best and Jin regrettably has a lot of ways to defend against that kind of RTSD style. Why isn't it 7-3 like Arakune? I would guess because Tao has trouble even getting near Arakune when cursed. It definitely has to be up there on the toughest matchups we have though.
  22. Since I wub you, I posted on all of them for you. I think I might take the time next week to go to my local game shop and use their PSN. PM's me, maybe we can get some casuals in.
  23. I think the combo thread slowing down is a good thing. All we have are pages of "How to Drive Loop", and such. Tao does not have a lot of extra damage to squeeze out of RC's and there are not a lot of variations of combos depending on what you start it with, so really there should not be such a crazy activity here. Now what is dead are the matchup threads. Not that I can help, I suck. ; w;
  24. Geez, how am I supposed to make up strats against anti-Tao maneuvers if you guys haven't started? Like, all we got is 2a and throws. Not like any of our overheads can't get raped or anything. Just bait, and don't get baited. HF and 5D pushes are only good when you can play mind games and be badass enough to not whore out 5B all day. Also, jC is pretty damn good on your side too. Its not advisable to throw out all the time, but it stuffs 6A pretty well. Tao has no anti-air.
  25. How much damage/character restrictions does that have? I wouldn't mind that, since it looks like it has knockdown on most, and I am stuck with single taunt combos atm with my noob stick skills. Bl
