Hmm, kinda glad I held off buying the PC ver then, especially if the complete version will have netplay \o/ still sad no PSN plans v.v

How...how exactly could they have possibly "cleaned up" said pantyshots without altering sprites?

I really don't like the idea of editing...

Anyway, I looked up the game on youtube, and it seems very iteresting, but it has that annoying thing where the characters are like the half the screen in height and the whole seems "zoomed in" and cramped. Guilty Gear also has it to a slight extent, is that just a limitation of SD?

so, what's the difference between this version and the free PC version? I already have the free version, but I never got the netplay working, and even if I did I heard nobody is playing the game. I would like to find a buddy on the east coast for some daily Vanpri netplay, but I'm kinda 'ehh' about this game now. I've never posted in here, pretty sure you guys play a lot. so, please tell me, should I buy the game or try to get the netplay working on the free version and find someone to play? I'm kinda bored of main stream fighting games. I wish my options weren't limited. :(

Well it's been taken down for the time being as it was released prematurely, so we don't know exactly how drastic the final build will be yet.

and we had to clean up the objectionable content so that we won't scare away new gamers and appeal to various rating codes;

So if I bought the game already and the updated version will be SecuRom free, will I get a free update as well as a removal tool for the SecuRom or will I have to remove it myself?...

OK here you go guys hope this clears up things

Q: Will buyers get compensated for purchasing the SecuROM version of Vanguard Princess?

A: "With proof of purchase of the SecuROM and verification from Gamersgate's sales report, purchasers will be able to get a free copy of the un-SecuROM version of Vanguard Princess directly from eigoMANGA when we officially release the game to the market. We're currently working on a system to effectively put this in place. We sincerely thank you for purchasing the game :)"

Who said the sprites won't receive edits .o.

If they kept the super flash animations then I imagine the angles will be different.

There's a big difference between doing some slight sprite edits, and completely redoing whole animations. The later would be a pretty tremendous amount of work and I highly doubt anyone who works at Eigomanga has the talent to match Sugeno's art accurately.

I'd suspect if anything, they could probably sensor the assists and Kurumi's naked time super, and just remove the super flashes entirely. But I mean honestly, where do you even decide to draw the line on stuff like that? I don't really see the point in the first place, VP is completely filled with panty/crotch shots from the entire cast. Even Aquapazza has underage girl panty shots and nobody cares about those. (Then again, Aquapazza didn't have a US release I guess)

lol I was talking blackouts lol I wasn't talking about full on new sprites, now that's crazy :v: also I would assume they would work somewhat close with Sugeno with the conversion through and through.

It's not like this is the first game ever to be censored upon coming to a different region, it can be a ratings board, fan feedback, or even the company's personal choice. It's just a matter of toning it down a bit.

also I'm pretty sure AP only has panty shots from 1 character -Ma-Ryan-

Aquapazza has only one pantyshot that I'm aware of and it's pretty hard to catch if you aren't looking for it.

That said, if there are people that get genuinely offended or won't otherwise play the game because of that stuff, there's no way you'll ever be able to remove enough of it from Vanguard Princess to make it acceptable to them. I don't see the point- it just seems like a waste of time and effort to be honest. Let's remember people still refuse to play AH3 because of the cast and there's hardly anything near the level of "fanservice" that VP has..

I don't think that they redo the panty/crotch shots, maybe they just add less time for the that.

Again the "cleaning up" is probably more for the ratings board than anyone else.

I'm not aware of anything in Vanguard Princess that would earn it anything more than a Teen rating as it is though.

Ratings boards aren't always consistent, for example I'll never understand why the first Genji game on PS2 got an M rating when the violence was neither bloody nor graphic, also the North American release of Xenosaga episode III had to edit 1 scene, ONE SCENE in order to prevent the ESRB from giving them an M. Also you have to realize the people that rate these don't even play the game, they are merely show video presentations of the content and they basically try to find anything and everything they view as questionable content.

In the end it's just about doing what it takes to get your game out, and it's not like it affects anything important, and it's not like the "uncensored" version is that hard to obtain (and costs less :v:)

Morgan and Sasara as well. Although I guess whether you want to count those as "panty" shots or not is up to you. I'm not one to split hairs too much though so I was counting them too.

Also I have no idea how old either of those characters are either so I might be completely wrong on counting them anyway!

I fucked around with VP for a little while after downloading it and yeah....it has pantyshots. But games like AP and other 2D fighting that are face paced!? How do you even notice pantyshots? I'm too bust worrying about having Tamaki's grapple range and Sasara's DP's. Sidenote: any more rumors of a PSN release?

I asked if VP 360 version still in developed and they answered

"We completed the PC version; it should come out in a couple of days. We handed over XBLA project to another firm to help us."
