You know, that wasn't as bad as I remembered, there was a pretty nice command grab in there by me. I spam D nails and j.D when I'm upset lol

It's high time I practiced bumpers. I don't think I'd ever start using them seriously but I hate not even knowing how to improvise with them =[

yes. and I was pissed when you combod into Daifunka off of a 2A BNB into bumper 2B 623B. It did no damage I was like why did he do that showoff =[ Also, you always try to tech trap me in the ways I tech trap other people thats why it doesnt work. Gotta be a bit fancier =p Wanna team with me in the next team tourney? =o

It's not hard, you just need to be aware, especially in blockstrings, if you have a high ground (A or C) bumper (though I usually keep mine low) against standing opponents in a blockstring, you can do RC -> j.C 3/6-dash mixup. It's a mixup + crossup.

Just play normally, add a few bumpers here and there, try to go for 2-3 during a match at most and of course, mix it up. If they don't tech and get hit by the D-nails, you can get a tech trap, or just plain old oki. In that preview video, I showed the 3 mixups with the 5A 5B 2B 2C 214B d.2A 5B j.AC236D setup.

ya i've never really tried to use them formy advantage except against say Carl just for extra movement, i guess I should start

10stars and I were talking about it a month or so back and we both agreed, the only way to extend the meta is with bumpers. Good players learned not to tech tons of things now.

Bumpers, FRKZ pressure, and new tech traps.

Bumpers aren't going to cut it as far as improving Bang's gameplay is concerned. They're too dependent on conditioning and commitment to be effective. You can't react/punish a tech AND apply oki at the same time with bumpers, and that's a big problem. The other problem comes from just how easy it is to evade bumper mixup. Just hold up. Seriously, it's retarded. Whenever I pop a bumper and want to "use" it I just go for an iad/dashing jump command throw. It works much more often then any of the mixup options that bumpers present. Leads to more damage a majority of the time, as well. FRKZ is pretty much tapped out in CT as well. Unless you land a 2D, or a 5D against certain chars, you'll end up doing way too much damage to really have Bang Install make an impact on a round. Against the characters I utilize Bang Install against the most (Cat 1s and Noel/Carl), they generally have around 1/3rd of their health by the time I have enough Heat and seals to FRKZ. There's no real need to use Bang Install at that point, as a combo into dashing DD will more than likely win you the round. CT just makes Bang Install superfluous.

i may not qulify to give input on this but, here i go: i only use bumpers to(aside the speed of course) either fake an IAD and then hitting low, or to delay an landing.

Preview of what's to come for my bumper shit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6_ncDSPco8

The video will be more like a tutorial on Bang's bumpers. Will be doing specifics for each character as well as options.

Of course I will be doing more than just 4-nail or 2D CH setups as well.

I wish you had the input display on during the preview so I could see exactly what you are doing to land that d.2A consistently. I've been doing it for maybe 30 minutes and it seems more like a "step" 2A instead of a dash 2A.

Very high risk / high reward I guess.

1 Nail - 2124 Damage in the initial combo (5A-5B-2B-2C-214B-d.2A-5B-j.A-j.C) - 1 Bumper available for later mix-ups.

-Then-

3 Nails - "Potential" mix-up which leads to a 3915 Damage Combo (j.C-5A-5B-2B-6C-j.D-6A-623B-d.6C-j.623B-Land-2C)

So realistically if everything was successful you got 4 Nails = 6039 Damage

Or you go for 3725 Damage (5A-5B-2B-6C-j.D-6A-623B-d.6C-j.623B-Land-2C) and take a mix-up for No Nails.

Either way, good stuff. I'm definitely gonna practice some of the Mid-Combo Bumper stuff since I already work Bumpers into my gameplay as is. I just gotta see if I have already saved as one of my favorites.....

EDIT - I forgot to put in the 5B after the d.2A

That's the problem. "Realistically" that is a big waste of resources, because no one will tech if you do that setup unless they don't know the matchup. It's a huge commitment from you that's pretty much null and void if they don't move. This is the same reason I use B nail instead of D nail if I even bother to do a 2C, 214B setup: because it's not as expensive if they just lay there doing nothing.

You sure do use that nogging of your's more a lot here man lol.

J.C doesn't have any sort of forced tech property. They can still choose not to tech and just lay on the ground. And you don't "get a combo" if they lay there and get hit by the nails, as the combo counter doesn't reset. At most they take a couple hundred points of additional damage (if that) and can air tech instead of having to deal with oki.

Hmm..my mistake then, it seems like I didn't turn off the right Tech things when I tested it. Oh well then still high risk / high reward.

Yes true enough, though I've got some no-tech stuff coming up too. Even if they don't tech you're still safe and on the offensive. Also, the B-nail is too slow for the trap. However, the 2D CH combos still stand. Though I'm testing if you can do 3-dash off of the setup to bait not teching. Though if you use a B-nail and they don't tech, it hits and you can try to mix up your enemy. edit: Yeah... this is really just trying to be flashy, you should probably just stick to standard bumper shit since these won't work on players who know it. It will only net you a low damage no seal combo for 4 nails if your opponent knows what they're doing. That or you could try for a mixup reset by 3-dashing behind them and hitting them with 5/2A depending on character. Bang is pretty much tapped out for what he can do in CT sadly... -_-;... Now all we can do is try to be as flashy as possible. Just wait for dat CS where Dora is already raping with him <3

I swear this is the #1 urban myth among Bang players, for some reason tons of people think j.C forces neutral techs. If it did, Bang sure as hell wouldn't be bottom tier.
