Lord Cruxis Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Oi, Good point. Now I would like to see if its possible to have easy ways to get a good shot at people with his AH.
Reioumu Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Oi, Good point. Now I would like to see if its possible to have easy ways to get a good shot at people with his AH. Don't even bother with AH. it's not going to be put into tourney anyway.
10stars Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 AH's were used in the summer jam tournament. Jiyuna hit Kensk with Ragnas and put kensk into losers.
Reioumu Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Well, didn't they only keep the ones from Arcade though? Pretty much the ones that are unlocked by default. If you're allowed to use unlocked ones, I think Bang's is unblockable and can be chained from 2D.
10stars Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Bangs is in fact unblockable. But they're pretty much there for fluff. They changed Ragnas so it's blockable, however - he can still combo into it.
TheDarkWall Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 One thing I thought of is, wouldn't this set up be completely useless if they're barrier blocking, or does the guard libra still take a hit from bursts while barrier blocking?
10stars Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 One thing I thought of is, wouldn't this set up be completely useless if they're barrier blocking, or does the guard libra still take a hit from bursts while barrier blocking? Like i said in the comments of the video when it was asked; the second time i show it in the video the opponent is barrier guarding. When you barrier guard an offensive burst your barrier meter is destroyed and you're put into danger. Instead of getting a crush, i put ranga into danger and then did an overhead into daifunka for an incredibly high damage daifunka.
ShoMeYaMoves Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 If you know arakune is about to throw a cloud you can umbrella him to punish it. I did it in my casual matches against Mr. Biscuits that I posted. You can't pressure someone into getting hit by it unless they're about to recover (Example, video of offensive guard crushes) or if they're stuck in block stun from a drive nail etc. When steel rain happens there's about 30 frames where the opponent can dash out from under it, bang has nothing besides ranged nails that keep them in place. So you have to take advantage of slow moves like arakunes cloud, or abuse guard stun from distant drive nails. You can also umbrella the teleport if you predict it.
TheDarkWall Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Just thought I'd let everyone know if somebody hadn't said it already, when you do tenstars set up be careful how far in the corner they are, as if they are ABSOLUTELY as far as it goes in the corner then they can usually side tech the steel rain.
Reioumu Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I won't be able to make the next bumper vid covering other techs until I get my stick back. I could do it on pad, but takes forever since I'm not used the 360 Pad :/
10stars Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Once i get a ps3 i have alot of stuff bumper wise that needs to be shown.
kensk Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 AH's were used in the summer jam tournament. Jiyuna hit Kensk with Ragnas and put kensk into losers. he coulda done BK, which is much safer though :/
Reioumu Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Once i get a ps3 i have alot of stuff bumper wise that needs to be shown. Or just PM/IM me the info and I can record it and credit you

Reioumu Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Alright, I'm gonna test out some of my own gimmicks and the such when I get my stick back. I'll talk to you while doing it on AIM or something. I don't know how long it will be until you get your PS3 lol
10stars Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Summer Jam top 8 / winners finals / losers finals matches. I placed 3rd but I can't complain since my entry and everything else was paid for, and i put Jiyuna into losers and did some hype shit in the matches below anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sx0uBk8v4E 10stars (BA) v Escapingjail (Nu) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_s9PG98Nks 10stars (BA) v Alzarath (RAC) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w528o9X2KTE 10stars v Alzarath part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84xIuAmUBQ0 10stars (BA) v Jiyuna
Rhyllis Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Great job 10 stars. Played EscapingJail a couple of weeks ago, maybe even a month ago in an online tournament but lost 3 to 2 in the finals. I'm going to tell myself that you got revenge for me.
Strider Chipp Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Guys I need help. I have my combos down packed but I don't understand why I keep losing to my friend who is so predicable, but yet he beats me like every round. He says that I rush in too much and understands all my moves well now. My question is how do you improve your Mix-Up game ? P.S I Practice everyday.

Make your nail resets count to keep him guessing. 5C>6B hits a ton more than it should, especially if they're used to you doing 5C>2C or something like that. Remember that if he blocks your first 5A and he's just sitting there with BB up you can dash command throw so he learns to respect your nail reset.
mrpibbs23 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Just variate from the normal Chipp. He's catching onto your playstyle, can predict what your going to do, etc. My brother is just like that, and it's hard to get rid of. Only way I got rid of that was to play someone else who I sucked with. I understand the rushing in part though, I tend to do that alot as Bang, which vs. certain characters will have me but the lack of hit range (minus nails) makes it tough for poor Bang. And for reflexes/timing that you asked earlier, the only way is through practice.

I tend to use iad most common way. Sometimes Bumpers but in a combo though. I used j.4C as cross over after 2b , but what else do I need to know about travel a cross the screen. Bang has very small pokes if you knows. If I rush in I'm counter hit by friend.
ShoMeYaMoves Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 One of the funniest rounds I've ever played: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0gf6g5I8Hw
